With that kind of conversation about something so sensitive, they need to be able to gauge each others honest reaction which they can't do over the phone. Yes.. She don't got it like that.. MrsCrossfire Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 As silly as this sounds I want to say how PROUD I am of Gideon. That man has changed for the better and really made himself into a man who not only is capable of accepting but also giving love, a man that has proven that is his word is solid and that he truly whole heartedly cares about Eva. At the beginining of the book it still frustrated me that everytime Eva said "I love you," which in my opinion she said a lot, he never said it back. Yes, I know how he feels about the phrase, but his response was something similar, most of the time to "I know" and that irked me. However the way he really opened to her, turned his back on Corinne and changed make me so proud of him.  With that said I was really disappointed in Monica and Victor, I know that most everyone here loves the, but I have a real problem with cheating and I hate that Monica cheated with Victor. I also think that their cheating was important for Eva to see before she got married, so she could see the pain caused by their actions. Some of her thoughts when she was spending time with Brett annoyed me (how sexy he was or whatever) but she knows what she has with Gideon is a million times stronger than her previous or even current attraction to Brett and she would not jeopardise that for anything. I agree there is still a part of her that is mad at Gideon for his actions with Corinne but she also believes that nothing actually happened between them. She knows herself that if it had, that is not something she could live with and she also knows the same is true in reverse. Her reaction to her parents cheating is also a good insight to her views on the subject. She tells her dad that for the first time in her life, she is ashamed of him. Is it possible that Eva felt more for Brett in the past than she admitted even to herself and some of those feelings are surfacing now ?She has such an intense physical reaction to him that I fear going back to SD with all the memories they have there together may cause her to do something with him that will devastate her and Gideon especially if he catches at a vulnerable point because she seems unable to say no to him firmly and decisively .Is she strong enough enough to say no if he were to really push ?   Hi I am new to the boards, have been watching for a while.  I have been trying to get my registration accepted since May 30th, and somehow after the 4th email I sent I actually received an email from Sylvia today apologizing and saying it would be done today. I love that I have found others that are as in love and obsessed with the series as I.   Welcome ladies.    I don't particularly care for the thoughts Eva has about Brett. I am hoping with Sylvia talking about how much stronger Eva is now that she will be there and be able to resist Brett. I mean she's married, and she is going to see Dr. Trav, and her dad, so I have to hope that those visits ground her. Gideon is not letting her go without security. Kirsten Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 I think the Megumi storyline is playing itself out badly the way Gideon and Eva ought to have progressed badly but for the fact in their case, great love was involved. Â Here are some parallels: Â Michael took Megumi to his parents' place in the Hamptons for the weekend. This is treating Megumi with a great deal of society respect, just like Gideon did when he took Eva out in public. Â Things turned rocky soon though, with Michael running hot and cold. Similar to Gideon and his headtrips and that 4-day "break" from Eva over his nightmares. Â Michael pulls the commitment-phobe move of refusing to contact Megumi for days. Who, Gideon, cut off contact with Eva? Um, yeah. Â Megumi engages in a form of mercy sex and revenge by having a nooner with Michael and immediately dumping him. Parallels to Eva struggling with acting out to hurt Gideon, hating herself for acting out (like with Brett) but doing it anyway, because Gideon has her head spinning. Â Things go really bad at the end with Michael, and Megumi is so devastated she can't get out of bed. (Because I think that's what's really "wrong" -- she's so depressed she can't function.) This is a sharp contrast to Eva, who did manage to get out of bed every day and go to work -- go to work at the Crossfire no less, an extremely emotionally-charged place. A lesser woman would have immediately quit her job and stayed in bed around the clock for days, but not New Eva. I don't think they went to the Hampton's LN. They were supposed to go that next weekend, and if we follow the timeline that is the first weekend of EWY. Â I don't get a good vibe with Michael. My first thought was that he was abusive. Sharonm745 Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 There is no way that Eva would cheat on Gideon. She begged Gideon not to look at the tape because it would spoil their relationship. Finding out they repeated the video would be the end and Eva couldn't live with hurting Gideon like that.  I don't like the Brett story arc but after listening to Sylvia's interview today, it looks like the next 2 1/2 books will focus on Gideon's issues. I think one of Gideon's issues is not allowing Eva to fight some of her own battles. Brett is going to be a battle. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sharonm745 Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 Speaking of Monica...  I'm wondering if Stanton knows that Monica is still in love with Victor.  I have to agree with Eva Victor should have taken Monica to a hotel instead of doing the deed in an apartment that Stanton is paying for. I was more upset with Victor when I first read it but now that I think about it he is only human. Maybe he needed one more time to be able to move on. I felt really bad for Eva. I so happy that Gideon was available for her that day.
