Hey gang, I've posted in Sylvia's Blog before but this is the first time I'm posting here :D . Out of curiosity, is anyone else here participating in National Novel Writing Month starting Nov. 1st. I might be crazy but I'm decided to try it. I need a kick in the rear to get back to work on my current project and figured this might be the route to go. Let me know if anyone else is doing this & maybe we can cheer each other on :pale:

Hey Marguerite!!!

That does sound like fun!!! I've got a story I've been dying to write (stuck editing  ) and participating could really kick start the process. Thanks for sharing, I believe I might join you! :pale:

I may participate informally. I definitely need to get a book or four written. :pale: Hopefully between the novel month and Donald Maass's seminar, I'll accomplish this goal.

I just signed up yesterday & even created a blog just for my novel :D . I read about it first on blogger and it sounded like fun. The goal is to complete a 55,000 word novel by the end of the month and the emphasis is on quanity not quality, which means that if you get insecure just keep rolling. There are times when I've gotten really insecure with my current project which is why I'm just rolling with the punches and doing this :pale: . Once you gals sign up, let me know and I'll be there to root you on as we go along !

I'm IN!

Well, I won't actually register, but I'll do it on here! Are we going to make a weekly thing? Maybe each of us should post our status on the message board once a week...and we can encourage each other.=D>, or administer a bit of kick if soemone needs it?:whip:

I'm honest enough to admit the compititiveness of posting results might make me a bit more determined to stick with it.

I'm not signing up officially, but I have a 12/01 deadline for a 400 page book, and I'm on page 25. :pale: So, I'll definitely check in as I will be needing big time encouragement!

I'd love to join in if I can. The good folks at Harlequin have asked me to turn my old Flipside submission into a Temptation submission - ACK! believe it or not, I don't think of these lines as being the same.....

Some extra motivation would be great.

:pale: . Excellent idea Sasha. We can all use a kick in the butt of encouragement . Okay so starting Nov. 1st, All of us who are participating will begin posting our word count here. Should we do this weekly, daily, or whenever we get a chance? Writing should be our number one goal so it should definately be after we've got some good pages in :D . Can't wait to do this. I so love a good challenge!

Hi Everyone -

I'm terrible about getting my messages to post in the right place on message boards, so hopefully this works!

Okay - sign me on for the November challenge. I have a book I'd like to finish and need some serious encouragement *read - Arse kicking* :pale:

This might work better for me than the 'official' site - it helps to 'know' the people who are going to give me a push, since they know where to find me. <g>

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here. I heard you were having an informal NaNoWriMo from one of my CPs and I'd love to join in. I have a book that I really want to finish and this sounds like the type of challange I need to keep me focused on my goal.

Thanks! Now if I could only figure out how to turn a Flipside into a Temptation..... We won't even talk about the frustration of knowing Temptation's a line in decline too. :x I'm not saying I destroy publishing lines, but I do see a pattern. We'll hope I don't curse Brava too.
We won't even talk about the frustration of knowing Temptation's a line in decline too.
HelenKay!

Don't think that way. [-( Temptation is not on a decline. It still has foriegn sales, and don't think those are small potatoes. Plus, you'll be a Harlequin pubbed author, and that says something!

Tanya Michaels has written both flipsides and Temps....and she is a fabulous person. Very real, and sincere. You should jump over to her website ( http://www.tanyamichaels.com/) and check it out.

Can you tell I'm a fan of hers?? LOL

Welcome, Teresa! Don't I know you from the eHarl boards? The SW Club to be specific? :?

Cheers,

Thanks for the welcomes. I had a deadline moved up on me at work, so I'm really hoping I can still handle the pressures.

Sasha - Yep that's me from eHarl. :pale: Haven't been posting a lot lately, but I do lurk.

Oh and Tanya Michaels is really sweet and a great author. I love her voice.

Sasha - You're right. I think I'm just down because of the whole submit then wait...then wait....then wait... game. Writing can be a tough dream. :x As for the book, I really thought it would work for Flipside so when the line closed, I was pretty bummed. In general, I'm bummed at the idea that Temptation isn't going to be around and as available as previously. Do you really think the change doesn't mean the end is near? I guess I just figured that was Harlequin's way of ushering it out. They've had so many changes and new lines added, it's a little scary to get tied or devoted to a line there right now.

I will check out Tanya. Always LOVE to find new authors. For example, I picked up Lora Leigh and Jade Black from Jordan's website - my first EC authors ever - and now am working my way through some EC authors.

HelenKay,
Pick up Shelby Reed's books on EC. I absolutely love her work, can't rave about her enough. :study: Very emotional, great characters, heroes I literally fall in love with. I'm so sad when I get to the end of her stories because there isn't any more to read.

Sylvia - Thanks for the suggestion. I'm new to EC and have only read a few but I will pick up something by Shelby. Anything you suggest to start - ie, is there a really good series of connected books" ? I LOVE connected books with brothers, friends, etc.
