At Cece's request, we'll be starting the WORD a Month Challenge. Similar to the "official unofficial WORD Challenge" in November, this challenge will be every month for the entire year.

What?

Wassat?

Huh?

=;

No complaining. :smt024 :smt065

Yep, this year we're doing away with the *thisclose* club and moving into the *pubbed camp*.

So step up to the plate and list your goal for the month of January. :) A page a day? 5 pages? 10? Challenge yourselves, but don't kill yourselves. (I happen to like having you all around. :( )

I, Sylvia Day, intend to finish story #3 (I am presently on page 36 out of a min. of 100 pages), edit it, polish it, and submit it.

:cussing: OH MY GOD!!! Are You Nuts!!

Okay, I can do this. Breathe Sasha, Breathe. Every month? Can't we do it every 2nd month? Cuz, you know if it's happening every month, I'll have to sign up every month so I'm not leftout. 8-[

Ok, ok, sorry. :-# I'm not complaining, really. Just a bit uhmm,

I'll have to think on this.

:drinkers:

Okay,I don't HAVE to do it every month, right? But to start the year off right I'll give myself the goal of finsihing and polishing THE DEVIL INSIDE(novella) until it shines. And finishing the first draft of THE CRIB (novella).

Ok, I'm outta here. I'm scared now.

Excellent idea, Cece.... =D> (Am totally sending Jake to YOUR house for the month.)

Sylvia's pubbedcamp sounds suspiciously like boot camp (wonders if there will be SEALs there) :) *dons BDUs and does some push-ups to prepare*

*giggles at Sasha* Don't worry, honey - we'll do it.

January Goal: :clock: Work 99% exclusively on Flying Blind (I must leave a little wiggle room if a great scene for something else hits me. I will write great scene down/jot notes BUT will not get drawn into other book. You have permission to slap me silly if I do. But I don't think I will - have gotten self into the zone...*looks left, right, waits for lightening to strike*)

Notice how I didn't give a page count yet.

*layer/edit next 60 pages of crap

*write new pages. 70 new pages. *gulp*

Need. :coffee2:.

release the wolves... :bounce:

Uh, do I have to list a page count to be written EVERY DAY? Because I have two novellas I intend to write between now and March 1, but I never write every day... it's not the way I write, and it just ain't going to happen. (Plus there's that little matter of the baby due in mid-February.) Can I say I'll write fifty pages on my novella FARTHEST SPACE and twenty-five on my novella MY FUNNY VALENTINE by the end of January, or is that a wimpy goal?

I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

Nope, no one has to sign up every month, but when you know you're lagging and should be doing more and just need the motivation, come on in and sign up. If you need a break and you're not feeling the push to write, just come in and cheer on the other gals. :occasion9:

Nope, you don't have to list an actual page count. You can do something like you did, give a general ballpark of what you need to accomplish for the entire month of January. However you break it down is up to you, but weekly (or more often) check in with board is required. (Otherwise, how we can we administer the :whip: ) :)

This will be fun, ladies!! Cece is starting the year off right!

Steph, I'm NEVER going to boot camp again, and even the idea of donning BDUs again makes me ill! :) LOL

Okay, I'll play. This month, I'm going to finish my new Brava novella, tenatively titled "Wet Dreams." That means 3.3 pages a day if I write every day. *gulp*

I can do it. I can do it. I can do it... :^o

Cece - clearly we need to have a talk...... Okay, I'm in. I'll use Sylvia's recent incredible success and Cece's enthusiasm as my guides.

I, HelenKay, will polish and send my 35 pages to Alison for her critique and do a VERY rough draft of the remainder by January 31st and seriously consider taking up drinking to get trough this :drunken:

Hey everyone!

Can I play too? I've been reading about everyone's success with the challenge and I'd like to join in.

The point is to push yourself to do better <ahem>

rfffffffffftgg <--see even Hamlet agrees.

You set the goal. You challenge yourself. No one will bust your chops if you don't make your goal. It's like exercise--push yourself a little harder as you go--si?

I just thought a little accountability might help us. It's not so much as a challege as it is motivation--si?

hmmm...reminds me I need to ask Larissa a few more research questions regarding said boot camp. Will wait till she's had that bottle of cleansing champagne. :drunken: (But I love your new Brava title *g*)

HelenKay - I like the drinking thing...

*waving hi to Tracy* :hello2:

Cece - good luck with Jake and the 'plotting' :D ...keep him busy & keep me honest to my goals, cause I know he's gonna come round, whispering in my ear...'come on, baby, just give me one more line...' 8)

I think I'm crazy. :D I would do boot camp again. Those ten weeks of my life were fabulous. (Even if I did spend the first two crying. )

How can I possibly jealous over a character, that isn't even mine, spending time plotting with another woman???? ](*,)

But that's ok, *reaches for fire engine red push up bra* I'm going to bootcamp to find myself my own character to plot with. :snakeman:
