  1. I am new to comment and am thankful that now I finally can.  I have been wondering myself about "Heartbreakingly and seductively poignant," I have cried, laughed and gasped reading this wonderful series. (Of course I've read them 8 times this year!!) When I read the words from the book description I was nervous that they wouldn't be together forever thank god my friend told me I was overreacting. At least I hope I was overreacting!!

No need for you to worry. Sylvia has assured us multiple times about their happily ever after  :)  https://www.instagram.com/p/2tnwyEiEd3/

  2. Glad that G was upfront with Eva and told her right away about Corrine's tell all book. Nice also to hear the difference between how G felt about Eva compared to Corrine.

What does Corine want Gideon to remember about their relationship? Even if he did love her in a way, he stopped and was glad because he couldn't explain why he couldn't spend the entire night in their bed and how to explain the nightmares. Corrine feels she can only let him go by writing this tell all book, if she had cared so much, she wouldn't have gotten married, unless it was a ploy to get Gideon to come back to her. Boy did that backfire.

I was also glad that Gideon was upfront about the tell all book and that he puts Eva's doubts and insecurities to rest.

I don't really believe that Gideon "loved " Corrine. He definitely cared about her, but their  relationship seems to have been more based on

friendship and convenience rather than romance, passion and trust.

How can you truly love someone when you can't be yourself around them ?

  3. Ladies,

I have to disagree with some of your thoughts about Eva. From all we’ve seen on the first 3 books, Eva always says what she’s thinking, even when it’s hard for her. Remember the email she sent Gideon in RIY when she thought he was distancing himself? That was a powerful one. She loves Gideon madly, crazily, and constantly reassures him of that. And she tells him everything that happens to her or she’s thinking, like her feelings, her dreams, the stuff that happened in her job that day, that she was going out with her friends, that she was going to see Brett, that her parents were in love and had hook up, etc.

On the other side, Gideon doesn’t talk to her much. He doesn’t tell her how his day was, he doesn’t talk about his emotions, he doesn’t talk much about this nightmares, he doesn’t talk about his friends, about his mother. Eva has to ask, almost beg, and even so, he doesn’t offer much information. Remember when he saw Magdalene on the street outside a restaurant, in BTY, and Eva had to find out through gossip sites? When Gideon went to Corrine’s home and Eva had to find out through Christopher? (Imagine if this had been the other way around?)When Gideon talked to Deanna then embarked on a plane to San Diego to solve the sex tape problem and Eva only found out much later? He may think these things don’t matter, and he’s trying to protect her, but the truth is it could’ve all been solved with a single text message. Before she learns the truth, she suffers a lot, and we, reading from her POV (previous books) feel that. We know how he’s crazy about her, but he also closes her off, and she reacts badly to that.

I do believe this is going to be one of the crucial points of CBY: Gideon learning to tell Eva stuff, to lean on her, from the big to the small things. They can’t only talk about the deep stuff, they have to share the superficial too.

That being said, as I mentioned yesterday, from the previous books, I hadn’t thought that Eva’s feelings for Brett were anything more than simple l*u*s*t, and, therefore, easy to be ignored when he wasn’t in front of her. I didn’t think – and still don’t think – there are any real feelings there. But, apparently, she needs closure. And Gideon also needs to close Corrine, because that woman is not going to stop. Both of them (Eva and Brett, Gideon and Corrine) should have serious conversations about how those relationships hurt their main relationship (Eva and Gideon), so they can’t even be friends.

I feel like many times we, readers, mostly women, tend to like the male character, even with his flaws (maybe because of their flaws?), and to disregard the females characters. We want her to be perfect, but in the best books, she has flaws, because that’s how people are. I believe Eva is a bright light in the world of female characters in books (and in media, broadly speaking) because she is positive, focused, but she also has learnt how to deal with her problems, isn’t afraid to talk about them, and to look for a solution.

Edit: Wow. Reading that now, it's a big text.

I  totally agree with you  :)

  4. Amber Heard seems to be the popular choice, but I feel like I'm the only that's not feeling it completely. She may have the face but physically she's too tall to be a petite and voluptuous woman. She looks like an Eva kinda gal though, which is why a lot of fans are so drawn to her :)

I totally respect your opinion, but her height is not so problematic,if  the actor who plays Gideon is  tall enough .Her figure can be dealt with as well ,its hollywood actresses gain and lose weight for roles. She seems to be an Eva kinda girl like you said ,and for me that seems to be way more important than fulfilling each description of the books.Amber heard used to be fuller when she was younger maybe she could regain her weight.

  5. Amber Heard has everything Eve. She's sexy and deamn pretty and has some Charisma and attraction to men. She exudes that certain Temperament, erotic and at the same time the vulnerability. She is Eva Tramell :)

I totally agree with you. Amber is the only one with the bombshell look that I imagined Eva to have. She has an exotic vibe to her and a badass atittude. All the other  actresses that were suggested look way too innocent to be Eva Tramell ,a woman who captured the attention of Gideon Cross.

  6. I don't think Cary sounds very supportive. Luckily for him Eva is far more compassionate than I am because I'd have to tell him off. Something like, "I really appreciate your concern, Cary. But you don't need to worry. If Gideon and I need a dose of mental health & normalcy we'll just come spend a few days with you, Tatiana, Trey, and the kids!"

Both Cary and Arnoldo seem to be very unsupportive of their union :(

  7. I agree with you also, I guess Arnoldo is still holding that lip lock with Brett against Eva. Remember she wanted to talk with him and explain some things to him and Gideon said that he would handle it. (this was in RIY at the NC beach house after that horrid limo drive down)

You're probably right, still I think he's taking it too far. I understand that as a close friend of Gideon's he is unsure of Eva's intentions, yet I think he is way too judgemental of someone he barely knows.

  8. In 4th book, I would love for them to sleep together probably with no nightmares it's not fair to each of them

    I hope I made sense

Hi, I'm new in the Forum but I have been a huge fan of the series fora long time  now.

I agree with you, them not being able to sleep together is heartbreaking :(
