I've read the book and really liked it, cleverly written - as I was reading I was wondering why certain things were not being explained and had scant details, but all became clear with the twist at the end.  Hopefully we will have a section for this book where we can discuss it.

Yay! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed Teagan and Garrett’s story. I love them so much and want such good things for them. Their journey breaks my heart.

We’ve moved this topic to the Single Titles forum. Thank you for starting it!

I’m going to butt out now, so you all can discuss freely... 🤗

Hope it does come out in DVD.  I don't have Apple TV or Amazon video and I would hate to have to subscribe to passionflix for more than a month.  Keep me posted please

    Hi!

It was important to me that my readers could watch just Afterburn/Aftershock without committing to anything else they didn't want and Passionflix assured me that it would be available widely for anyone who wanted to purchase just Jax & Gia's movie.

I haven't fully grasped all the logistics, but Passionflix has licensed streaming rights for their catalog of major studio romance movies only for specific territories. I can't remember if they said US only or North America only. For those who don't want to subscribe or unable to subscribe due to territory restrictions, Passionflix's original programming would be available to watch just by purchasing that one program (movie, series, etc.).

So, if I understand it correctly, you'll be able to purchase just Afterburn/Aftershock via the Passionflix service without subscribing to a monthly commitment. You'll also be able to purchase the movie via the iTunes store or on Amazon and possibly other streaming services we didn't discuss. Eventually, DVD's will be available, too. Once purchase links become available, I'll be sure to list all the ways you can get the movie on the website.

In the meantime, casting calls go out this week. I'll have our Jax & Gia to show you soon!

Sylvia Day’s duology of contemporary novels, about a young woman whose work for her family’s record label exposes her to love and loss, to be published following Day’s upcoming Blacklist duology, again to Maxine Hitchcock and Tom Weldon for Penguin UK, in a major deal, in a seven-figure deal, by Kimberly Whalen at Trident Media Group. — Publishers Marketplace (March 10, 2016)

(for me the words 'family's record label' set me thinking . . . . )

The important thing to note about this announcement is the bold and underlined word: "to be published following Day's upcoming Blacklist duology." These are two separate series. Lily doesn't work with a family record label, Ireland does. Hope this clarifies!

I was wondering if Sylvia would consider making a response to her fans here in the community about what members are discussing on their views of this last book in the Crossfire series.

I know she is currently traveling with her book tour.

I'm sure she knows what people are saying, someone on her team is probably giving her updates.

    Hi, Stelladeer.

I'm not seeing a question here. If you have one, please let me know.

My team doesn't give me updates on reviews, discussions, etc. Those are for readers, not writers. :)

I'd love for Sylvia to give us Chapter 2 today as a treat...   :)

:) Well, the first scene from Chapter 2 was technically posted long ago:  http://www.sylviaday.com/2015/06/15/one-with-you-excerpt-2/

There were some modifications during the writing process, which have been included.

Readers in Australia and New Zealand will start receiving their downloads in a matter of hours, since it's already Monday there. From that point, downloads will start working their way around the globe until the US catches up timezone-wise, so there won't be any more excerpts or snippets posted. We weren't able to post many this time around, to avoid giving away spoilers or causing worrying speculations.

Interesting she says One With You is her longest book as the Amazon blurb implies its roughly the same length as the others but they may not yet have accurate page count.

Hi! :) The page count on the retailer sites isn't accurate at this time. I'm not sure when those guesstimates are updated to reflect the actual numbers. I've seen the typeset book, however, and the last page of One with You is page 462. In total, there are seventeen chapters in OWY, which is less than in the previous books, but most of the individual chapters are considerably longer.

Not much longer now! 46 days...

  7. I have only been following Sylvia since discovering Bared to you so I don-t know much about her previous work, however I just saw this on a Goodreads Discussion Forum. Is this true that she has still some unfinished series from years ago? :( That doesn't give me a lot of hope for the end of Crossfire :(((

Fans are still waiting for these releases:

The “Dream Guardians” series --> book 3 & 4 for more then 6years and 7 months.

The “Sapphire World” trilogy --> book 2 & 3 for more then 5years and 2 months.

The “Dangerous” series -->next book for more then 3 years 6 months

The “Renegade Angels” series --> book 3 for more then 2 years 1 month

I'm not sure about the lengths of time listed and there are only 3 books in the Dream Guardians series, not 4, but the rest looks right.

The Dream Guardians series isn't with a publisher, neither is Dangerous--which is a series of two very short stories (each installment is the length of two Crossfire chapters)--so they have to be fit in around my contracted works.

The Sapphire Trilogy is with a publisher, who isn't sure they want me to continue with the series. Since they own the rights to it, until they decide I can't continue.

The Renegade Angels is with the same publisher as Crossfire and they prefer that we all focus on Crossfire and not work on other series between Crossfire books.

    Hope this helps!

  8. Not sure if I wrote this before or not but maybe there was an initial idea to release the books in May or June of this year but that could be pushed ahead to coincide with the announcement/launch of the television series?

No, the release of the last two Crossfire books aren't hitched in any way to the television series, which has been in development for over a year now. When I spoke with the producer last, it was mentioned that he expected the TV series would launch sometime in 2015 (if it happens - remember, Hollywood option deals sometimes never result in anything) and we talked about the fact that Crossfire would be over then and I would be in the thick of the Blacklist series at that time.

The finale of Crossfire is dependent solely on when I finish the story.

    Sylvia

  9. ...i know there won't be any 'real' date until you, Sylvia, announce it, but amazon just announced a releasing date for the german(!!) version of your book- october...

    just saying...

The Amazon.de listing is an erroneous listing and my German publisher has been working for the last week to get it removed. There was also an erroneous listing on Amazon.fr a few weeks ago that my French publisher worked to have removed, and one on Amazon UK last year that my UK publisher had to get removed.

Foreign "rogue" listings happen all the time, all over the world, and they're meaningless. They're no clue to the release date, because a release date hasn't been set. They're just errors with imaginary dates.

Contractually, no foreign publisher can release their edition until after the US does, and Penguin USA hasn't yet set a date.

    Sylvia

  10. hi sylvia have you finished the 5 book or how far are you into the book it has been 11 months since entwined with you and you said it

would not take as long for the book to come out why is it taking so long to come out you said on the 13th of march we would  get a date in 3/4 week now it is the 3rd

of may and still no date .what is going on

    tbidwell,

I think you mean well but your post comes across (to me) as abrasive, accusatory, and demanding. I know it's been 11 months. It's taking so long to come out because I'm still writing the series. I will write until I'm done and completely happy with the finale of a story that means so much to me. When a date is set, I will shout it from the rooftops. In the meantime, it honestly does no good to ask me when the books are going to release. When I have a date, I'll share it. If I'm not sharing, it's because there isn't anything to share.

  11. Will there be anymore Spreecasts coming up? Also can we have a tiny taste of Gideon today? You can't blame a girl for trying. :)

Yes, we'll be doing more live Q & As. April was rough because Jennifer, my moderator, had a baby (exciting!) and I've been on the road a lot. May is a rough month, too, but I'm working on it! :)

  12. think you're right. think Sylvia wrote from Gideon POV. Think pubs made her do massive rewrite.

The publishers never make me do rewrites. :) I typically get very few editorial comments, which is one of the reasons why I also use a freelance editor in my writing process. In my ten year career, I've never been asked to rewrite a book. I'm much harder on myself than anyone I work with.

  13. Hi Sylvia,

Thank you for taking the time to post all of the many, wonderful little snippets for all of your fans.  I really appreciate it and I am sure that It is greatly appreciated by many, many of your fans.  :)  Thanks again.  :)

    GiGi  :)

I wish I could post the whole book, so we could talk about it!! :)

  14. I just wrote that as you have the right to know what people are saying

Why would I want to know? That's not a rhetorical question, I'm sincerely asking. There is no point in being the bearer of bad news if the recipient of that news can do nothing about it. For example, it's one thing to tell a friend that you overheard their neighbor complaining that their car is leaking fluid on the street and making a mess. The friend could fix their car. Bad news, positive outcome. But telling a friend that you overheard their neighbor saying the blue color of their car is hideous serves no purpose but to create ill-will and hurt the friend. The color of the car is not going to be changed, so nothing can be done. Bad news, bad outcome. That's not the best example, of course, but then it's not yet 8 AM and I'm not caffeinated yet. Forgive me (and any typos I might've missed).

My mother was very strict about filtering news, so I make concious decisions in that regard. She taught me to always question the purpose behind passing along bad news. Is it helpful to do so? If not, then don't do it.

I'll have to tell her about this post when she returns from visiting our family in Japan. She'll be tickled that I quoted one of her many childhood lessons. (See, Mom? I was paying attention. :) )

  15. hi sylvia I am very sorry to say this but I have read thousands of lady's reviews on when the date of captivated by you will be out and they are NOT very happy with you they wish they never brought the crossfire series and they are giving up hope for a date on your last two books and going to other books if captivated is finished your publisher should release it or you will lose a lot of your fans they say they are sick and tired of waiting nearly a year is to much time to wait and I can agree with them I am just writing what the lady's on the websit are saying and you have a right to know

I have often wondered over my ten year career what posts like this are supposed to accomplish? Am I supposed to feel bad, to cry, to stress out, to fight with my publisher...? Why would anyone want to inflict that sort of unpleasantness on someone else? It's so small and cruel, I can't wrap my head around it. Is there something positive that's supposed to be taken from such a post? Or is it just a passive-aggressive way of being a bully?

As a reader myself, I have authors I adore because of the characters and stories they've gifted me with. I feel tremendous gratitute toward them for being the conduit through which I've met characters I love and experienced situations that have deep sentimental value to me. I would never abuse those writers for the time it takes them to craft their books or the professional circumstances they may face. I owe them a huge debt and I never forget it.

As a writer, I learned long ago not to let anything affect me personally. It's a well-known fact that artists must have a "thick skin" and mine's titanium. :) So, tbidwell, save your fingers from typing demands passed on from elsewhere. The books will come out when they come out. I will carry on as I've always carried on. In the end, the only thing that really matters is that I've written the best books I can.

  16. Hi sylvia thank you for the snippet but what we really won't is the book have you finished 4&5books yet if you have I think your publisher needs a push there are thousands of lady wanting this book we don,t blame you at all but your publisher how long does it take to release a date it is unreal .love the snippets so far but won't the book love the stranger I married ,pride and pleasure ,seven years to sin, heat of the night, pleasure of the night ,afterburn, aftershock ,great book but we won't captivated by you and the 5th one hope we get it before the end of May

I haven't finished the series yet, no. I'm very, very, very aware that everyone wants the book. I'll let you know when a date is set.

  17. :(  I did see about a month ago on most European Amazon sites the date was 27 August tbidwell. I decided not to post it here thinking maybe it was inaccurate, but the longer it stays up the more I am thinking it's probably true.

No date has been set for CAPTIVATED BY YOU. Some of the international publishers have the book in their systems with dates pulled out of a hat because of the way their booksellers work. In order to have the book in their systems at all, it needs to have a date, so they make one up just to put it in the bookseller system. However, ALL publishers are contractually barred from releasing the book before the US does and the US has not set a date for release. Therefore, any dates you see floating around are meaningless. Until Berkley announces a release date and makes the book available for ordering on us.penguingroup.com, there is no release date.

  18. Yes that's what she said unless she changes her mind again I am getting so pi....ed of now waiting for so long

I've said many times that the date is set by the publisher. It's never been a case of me changing my mind. It has always been that the publisher must set a date for the release. Until they do so, I have nothing to share and can only guess and be hopeful.

  19. Oh btw could really use a new GidEva snippet/excerpt!!! :). :)

I'd love to post one, but I'm sensitive to Harlequin, who wants me to focus on AFTERSHOCK, since it's releasing next week and CBY doesn't have a release date yet. I understand and respect that, so I'm going to give AFTERSHOCK my attention for the next couple weeks, then I can start sharing more from CBY! :)
