Friday!!! Twice-weekly snapshot will come this morning (likely around 9 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time based on when all the other ones thus far have hit the Internet.)

 

Today will be a glimpse into Chapter 14. Recap of the snapshots of chapters 1-13:

 

1. The word "Press" over a fuzzy shot of a newspaper page, and a fancy pen in the foreground.

2. Unwrapped Christmas present boxes

3. The word "Business" next to a cup of coffee

4. A microphone on a stand

5. A pile of neatly-folded white terrycloth towels, wrapped in a red ribbon.

6. A bathtub in a modern-style bathroom

7. An open bottle of red wine, nearly full, and in front of it, one wine glass holding some wine. Near it is a small vase holding four red roses.

8. Two different types of pills in blister packs plus a bottle of some sort of liquid medication. The meds are on a glass coffee table in front of a white couch.

9. Fuzzy shot of a crowded dance floor. One woman in the center of the shot is in semi-focus.

10. A diamond and gold women's watch.

11. An Aston Martin sports car

12. An elevator lobby

13. Pieces of women's clothing scattered at the foot of a bed.

 

Note: Up until now, new snapshots have come on Tuesdays and Fridays. But the first one next week (#15) will hit the Internet this coming Monday instead of Tuesday .... because instead of a snapshot next Tuesday, we're getting the final pre-book-release glimpse of some text of Entwined. It will be the ultimate "snippet." (Drum roll please ....) the entire first chapter of Entwined!!!

I hope any discussion with/about Corrine will include Gideon's explaining his new 'RING' to her.  I'm sure she noticed it knowing he doesn't wear any other jewelry.  

 

Also, I'm sure any police questioning confused her and wonder what she asked of Gideon after it was over.

 

So many questions to be answered, beginning to feel like Eva, LOL.  So guess will we start getting answers / insights on Tue with Chapter 1 and then just 4 weeks / 28 days until the whole book is released.   I hope Barnes & Nobles and Amazon's networks are ready to be overloaded on the 4th.

I think that the police have already questioned Corinne----because she was with Gideon on the night of Nathan's murder...

I hope that it's going to be longer than 2 pages----LOL

When the pair of them had long talks over the weekend, Gideon had come to understand his portion of the blame for the Brett incident. He recognized that he had underestimated just how intolerable the Corrine situation was to Eva. He admitted that he used to think Eva was over-reacting to Corrine, but when he himself had been hit with jealousy and insecurity over Brett, Gideon "got" that the Corrine situation was tearing Eva apart.

 

So on one level, the post-concert kiss/fight turned out to be a good thing for their relationship. Yes, on some levels, Eva had been over-reacting to Corrine -- but -- Gideon finally realized he'd been under-reacting to the same situation.

 

Which is why I want to scream in his face "You idiot!!!!" for turning around and using Corrine as a cover story. What, did he think that Eva was going to settle down, now that they'd fought about the whole issue Friday and over the weekend? Duh!!!! Um, no. He took Corrine out, and she immediately got even by taking Brett out. Then Gideon painted himself into a corner where he couldn't even talk to Eva while Brett's out there on the road talking about having reconnected with Eva and wanting another shot at a relationship.

 

If Gideon absolutely had to use another woman as a cover to make it look like he'd left Eva for the other woman, why didn't he pick Magdalene? Magdalene probably would not have had "exaggerated expectations" -- and Gideon had been socially dating Magdalene long enough in the past that she could have been sufficient cover.

Great point!! Magdalene would have been a lot better cover!   Stupid move, Gideon!

 

Unless, something else is going on here?

That is probably why we feel so off balance when reading the books!! We want resolution to our conflicts--33 daze and counting!!

Getting back to Eva's safety, and how Gideon feels about her, twice he has mentioned that he wouldn't survive her. The last time it was mentioned, they were having their chat in the car, at he end of Reflected. It goes to show his state of mind, if anything were to happen to her. This controlling, ball breaking, man is so fragile. It's heartbreaking.

OMG--I feel the same way..

It's as if the shell around his heart has been broken and Gideon is now able to truly love someone for the first time in his life...

I wept over them, laughed with them and thrived in their hopes for future happiness together. . . what can you possibly ask for more?

On page150 in RIY:

 

Arnoldo smiled; it was the knowing and slightly mocking smile one bachelor gave to another who'd been caught by a woman. He said something in Italian. Gideon replied, his pronunciation sounding fluid and sexy, his tone wry. Arnoldo threw back his dark head and laughed.

 

Dang! I wonder what was said!! 

poor Cary.  I hope that doesn't end up happening to him.

Mark didn't do anything wrong by expressing friendly concern -- most especially because his entire motive was to be supportive of Eva, to assure he that he wants her to keep working for him, no matter what. Everyone knew Gideon's reputation as a ladies man (even Monica had said that to Eva back on Saturday.)

 

Had Mark tried to interfere by ordering Eva to stop seeing Gideon, that would have crossed a line. Also crossing a line would have been him indicating in any way she'd get fired once Gideon was done with her.

 

By contrast, Gideon himself actually could have been accused of sexual harassment for his little "talk" with Eva right after that first presentation meeting, when he'd asked her to hang back for a moment while Mark went back to his office. Gideon now had a formal paid financial relationship that involved Eva - he was a client of her employer. Gideon tried to pry into her love life by demanding to know if she was sexually involved with someone else -- and he immediately and very crudely propositioned her.

 

Not that I'm saying Eva ever would file a harassment complaint -- not some entry level person like her against a mogul like him. But the very serious differences in their positions of power made all the more serious the fact Gideon was pressuring her for sex and now had put her into a financial bind.

Agree, I don't think that Mark crossed the line...

He wanted Eva to know the reputation that Gideon had...

It was Eva's decision if she wanted to proceed with Gideon and I feel that Mark left it at that...

i think it is safe to say that we will be waiting. Perhaps chapter 1 will include Gideons pov? We may not even get that far. Only a couple of hours into the story. Da*n it!!!

I agree. I can't see Eva going back there.

I would be shocked too if Eva slept with Brett---I don't think Gideon and Eva's relationship could overcome that. They both have so many issues with trust.

Then again, I realize that I am injecting my own personal feelings into this---LOL!

This could be an avenue to explore. If Megumi was dating a pap, that would account for her being so nosey where Eva's love life is concerned. But then again, don't we women love to gossip about someone else's romantic shenanigans!!
