I love my ipad.  Love it.  And I have an iphone so that when I am out, if I want to read, my books automatically are downloaded since we are "in the cloud."  I have some vision issues so I love that I can make the font as big as I need.  My husband has a Kindle and he likes it a lot.  The font in print books these days is just too small for me.  The ability to read on a devise has made my life so much better and my ability to read for extended periods of time easier.  When I am engrossed in a book, I just cannot stop.

 

I like to know things from the man's pov.  I loved that last part of FSOG for that.  Sometimes it is hard for a woman to really "get" how a man thinks.  I am curious how Sylvia is going to do this in the next 2 books.  I am looking forward to that.

 

My daughter does not read these kind of books.  She is a mystery reader.  So, we cannot discuss.  I think it is curious since she is a marriage and family counselor but she feels that there are boundaries that we cannot cross.  Interesting.

I am also thinking about an Ipad.  I can load both the Nook and Kindle app on it.  I have them on my Ipod touch so I read books from my Nook, my phone & my touch now just depends where I am. 

I still haven't gotten any type of e-reader.  I love my books....I love opening a book and turning the pages.  I love seeing books on bookshelves and being surrounded by them.  I have been thnking of getting a kindle only because it's a pain to travel with two or three books especially if they're heavy!

Hello!  It took me forever to get registered, but I've been reading for awhile.  Loved the new book, but now the wait begins again. 

 

Anybody think that maybe Megumi is with Martin Stanton?  He was casually seeing her roomie, Lacey, and they don't seem to mind dating men the other one has gone out with before.  Megumi was there when Eva found Victor and Monica together.  Monica's husband's nephew has been hanging around at Megumi's place.  Martin might greatly benefit financially if Monica and Richard split.  Or maybe she's thinking about blackmail?  It wouldn't be fun to be around all those rich people if you were a working girl.

My guess is that Lacey really is/has been out of town, and Megumi is at home (digusing her voice to sound sick when she calls work) hiding a black eye given to her by Michael, who did not take her rejection well.  Another possibility is that her voice sounds so awful because she's got a broken jaw.

I like books too.  I have a lot of them.  The last time we moved my husband told me he was never packing or moving any of my books again so I better pick a place and stay there.  I still buy hardback books by my favorite authors but I do all of my reading on my Nook.  My favorite movie line ever is from Out of Africa.

I agree.  I think Martin is a good guy, as I've said before.  I get the impression that something is starting with Lacey & Martin.  He didn't know anything about Megumi being sick.  If they were trying to start some blackmail he would have lied and said something like "She is really feeling bad maybe the flu."  He wouldn't want Eva getting noisy.    It is Michael being a stalker/abuser.

After a long wait and finally being approved, i'm jumping on the bandwagon with you all

 

So here are my 2 cents on all the books:

 

1: Megumi being sick is not a coincidence ( at least in my mind ), because there were to many times it was mentioned for it to be "normal". Megumi mentions in book 2: Michael is such a great/nice guy, why does he need a blind date, is somethng wrong with him? or sometihng along those lines. This is said when Eva, Monica and Megumi were having lunch together. Something really strange is going on, and I don't know if it only concerns Megumi dumping Michael or that this Michael person is somehow connected with Nathan ( i know this is far fetched ) and trying to get to Eva through Megumi.

 

2. Nathan being killed and the Russian mob connection... also a strange one. Gideon owns a couple of casino's and in book 3 he tries to sell 1 to get a vineyard, ( from the ex hubby of Corrine the witch )maybe he is trying to ditch a connection there? Gideon doesn't seem to do business with mobsters but still... it could be an option.

 

3. Bad mom Lizzy and the ring issue... First of all, how did Gideon get that ring? Did Lizzy give it to him, did he took it , did he inherited it? We only know what that ring means to him. To a certain point i can understand that Lizzy is p*ssed off to say the least to see that ring shining on Eve's ringfinger. Especially after Eve's rant to her about the abuse, which is totally justified imho. But Lizzy is the type of person who wants to present a picture perfect family to the outside world.

 

4. Magda and Corrine and Lizzy.... Well i don't trust the whole bunch. They are all one clique whatever happens. My gut feeling is, is that Magda is trying to get info out of Eve, which she tells to her mom and mom tells it to Lizzy. And Corrine... well she is just bad

 

5. Eve<-->Brett, Gideon<--> Corrine... Eve is being naive in terms of Brett, she knows he wants more and still hangs out with him. Eventhough nothing happens, there is enough space to feed off for badtalk and gossip and making Gideon mad. Gideon on the otherhand is also being a complete dummy for his continues friendship with Corinne. He knows this upsets Eve and yet he does it.

 

6. Monica and Victor, maybe i'm alone in this one and i don't promote polygamy, but i kinda liked it. Don't ask me why, but i think that attraction and love after 24 years is still there is kinda lovely.

as for how Deanna is handling the "brush off" from Gideon.....what did she expect from a guy when she goes to bed with him after just meeting him?  Consenting adults need to admit to themselves that they may have made a mistake and no one told Deanna that she had to have sex with him.  Eva said it right when she said that Deanna is giving "casual sex" for the modern woman a bad name.  Like in the movie Hitch when the girl went to bed with the jerk that she met while he was picking out lingerie.....she didn't have to go to bed with a man that she just met....so stupid.  what do people expect?   ok....off my podium now.

 

I would like to find out more about the wedding too....especially how he gave her the ring....I think Gideon got the ring by buying it after it had to be sold to pay back investors from his father's ponzi scheme.  just guessing here....maybe Lizzy had to give up a lot .....don't really know  my two cents worth.  but I know that Gideon wouldn't have taken it from her without permission.
