I have to disagree with you there.

Angus has stepped up to the plate for Gideon.

He has been with Gideon for many years, he has been Gideons father figure. He is Gideons confidante.

That's why he was at the wedding.

It will be interesting to learn more about him.  We know he drove Gideon to school when he worked for Chris Vidal and we know Gideon hired him away from Vidal when Gideon was 20.  Could he have known about Hugh's abuse of Gideon and, therefore, stepped in to protect him?  Will Angus have a family or do you think he is only dedicated to Gideon and through him to Eva?

I wouldn't say Gideon sees him as an employee, as such. But he definitely is a friend confidante, and above all the only father figure Gideon has known.

He knows what Gideon thinks and what he wants. Spelling it out for Eva on a couple of occasions ie the concert and the hospital.

I reckon Angus saved Gideons life regarding his abuse.

I did a quick search and most US Ponzi schemers get up to 20 years but they all were paroled much sooner.  He was a young man so he could make a comeback.  Also they are confined in low security prisons so, while prison is terrible they aren't with harden criminals.

I missed the "special trust fund for people that were conned". The "Crossroads Foundation" is Gideon's charity foundation.  That is the only thing I remember Eva telling Ireland to tell her boyfriend's family to look up.

Gideon also seems to have abandonment issues because of his father's suicide.  Most of the attention has been paid to his nightmare but what about his feeling of being left by his dad.  We know he wants to be a father (in the prenup).

Gideon says he refuses to take sides when Gideon and Christopher disagree in the business.

I do not think Gideon has a strong, competent father figure in his life.

 

I know Victor has his flaws but can he serve in that capacity?  Victor did step up for Eva in her later life.  Cary likes him too.

I have always wondered where Monica actually delivered Eva since she was disowned... Did she go to a home for unwed mothers or a convent ... I hope Sylvia addresses this . Perhaps she had a sympathetic relative that took her in you know like an aunt or uncle that lived back east and maybe that is how she ended up in the New York metro area...What do you all think?
