  1. The chapter is up ladies!!!! I know I've been gone for a while, but I have a 4 year old, and a 9month old. I was at Summerset and meet with Sylvia. My hisband was the second man in the room that night and I have additional information to share as I spoke with Sylvia through out the day of the event. Nothing giantic, but nothing that I've seen on the board yet.  I will say, I walked away thinking Monica is involved a lot more than we every realized.

  2. Why is Eva asking Gideon did he take his vitamins? Gideon is clearly in Vegas as Eva, which would explain the travel tags on the cover of the 3rd book.

It will be interesting to see how Sylvia creates the possibiblity for Eva and Gideon to get married and they're still pretending to keep there relationship under wraps unless they are hiding there relationship from other people, (not the cops) maybe Christopher, Corinne, Brett, etc. There is still room for Eva & Gideon's relationship to be under threat. Its not like everybody in there circle is rooting for them like we are.

Its quite possible that the cops have laid off them and now they have to deal with the wrath of the people around them. They each have people who are obsessiveness enough to act crazy. Bret and Corinne. Bret made it clear that he would not be deterred easily and Corinne's marriage ended and she moved back from Europe because of Gideon.

We don't know what skeletons Gideon has in his closet. Just the abuse piece. Christopher comes across like a really dangerous character as well. Not to be trusted. I never liked when Eva mingled with him. It always felt like she was setting the stage for him to grow founder of her, and add to his need to take her from Gideon.

I always wondered if Cary and Victor talked that night after the detectives left. If its one person Cary knows would never abandon Eva besides himself is Victor. I think Monica loves Eva but she's been too distant for me and more focused on marrying the right wealthy man in my opinion. Her need to continue to live the life she craves would cloud her judgement, whereas Victor has never faltered in his position in Eva's corner as her Dad. You can sure that Victor will find out what happened and that will be a key scene in the next books, and if it isn't, then us fans will write our on scene.

  3. I think its hard to tell if we do have all the information to know who killed who, and who abused who because  we have to content with Sylvia's imagination. Sylvia could have dreamed up something that none of us see coming when we read the next book..

I do believe that Nathan was killed by Gideon. But I want to believe that he wasn't alone in his planning and attack of Nathan.

I want to believe that Dr. Lucas is deeply connected to the abuser of Gideon and is hiding the information not just because he lost money in Gideon's dad's money scheme. But because of something a lot deeper, that none of us will figure out because there weren't enough clues provided in the first two books. I don't think Dr. Lucas is the abuser, but there has to be a reason why Gideon is allowing this man to still be alive.

I wouldn't be surprise if Gideon's abuser isn't alive anymore. Gideon has stated in the book to Eva that she has no idea the length he's willing to go to protect her. This leads me to believe that Gideon may have done things in his past that Eva may not like or be able to move past. Gideon also said that he made significant connection in Vegas in his poker days that help him build his wealth to what it is today. Who knows what that means????

  4. He met with Richard the day after Eva told Gideon about Nathan the day Eva and her mom were going to the therapy appointment.

Was that all on the same day that Gideon and Nathan met as well? The events occurred one right after another during that point in the book?

    • Eva told Gideon about Nathan
    • Eva spots Corinne leaving Crossfire while at the same time Gideon is beating Nathan up in his office.
    • Gideon visits with Richard.
    • Monica and Eva talk about Eva revealing her secret to Gideon. Wasn't Eva upset during the car ride to the therapist with her mom? About what?
  5. Cary could have totally re-introduced Nathan back into the picture. He does have a self-destructive personality. Cary was worried that Eva was going to movie out of the apartment and in with Gideon when she called about the Vegas trip.

Gideon is the real deal for Eva, which means the dynamics are going to start to shift between she and Cary as her relationship with Gideon intensifies. Cary has issues of abandonment that he clearly hasn’t process through entirely.

I think that kind of sabotage would break Eva into two. It would probably take all of Gideon's love to keep Eva from going over the deep end from that kind of violation.

  6. Does anybody remember when Gideon first met with Richard? Does it say in the book?

For some reason, I feel like either the timeline or something that I read tells me that Gideon and Richard meet right after Gideon beat Nathan up in his office?

I get the feeling that Gideon and Richard were plotting together very early on, on how to handle Nathan if he re-appeared. If I'm right, and Victor finds out about all of this, Gideon and Richard are in big trouble with Victor for keeping him out of the loop on things with his daughter.

  7. Since we don't have a third, cross my fingers fourth book yet, I've let a million different ideas/scenarios play out in mind.

I do find it interesting that Nathan, (that we know of so far) never popped up while Eva was living with her dad. The scent of Victor/Cop would have pushed Nathan away, but while she's in NY, she's venerable. So he thought.

  8. If I remember correctly (and I could be completely wrong, I read this book during finals week) Gideon said that his mom called in a therapist/counselor to sort out all the rage and bad behavior he had as a child. The counselor told him a way to get out his frustration is to jack off. So the guy taught him how to ###### the guy would do it for, him watch him etc. That's why when his mom took him to the doctor the doctor found nothing. The man didn't hurt him in a way to show any bruising or internal sexual abuse, it was just Gideon's words. So the pediatrician says "we find nothing" mom assumes he's just lying for attention or something. If that did happen I think that's why in the car after the concert Eva could't get him off by a hand job because that's how he was abused. Again, I read this taking 19 hrs last semester and it was finals week lol. I actually thought his brother was the one who abused him which is why he wasn't close to him.

That would explain the absence of physical evidence, but that doesn't explain why Gideon doesn't like anal play. Someone like Gideon who clearly has indulge himself in all things sexual would reframe from that area of play? That doesn't make sense.

Another reason why I can't wait for the third book!!!

Its either going to be that Gideon’s mother was lied to about the abuse or the type of abuse Gideon experienced didn’t leave any evidence, (jerking off-sexual & emotional/physiological abuse) further explaining why Gideon's mother believed the doctors.

  9. Sylvia-

Was Nathan really planning to kill Eva someday (based on the evidence the detective said they'd found in his room) ? And if so, why? Or will these questions be answered in EWY?

I wondered about that myself & I wondered about the possibility that maybe Gideon/Staton staged Nathan's room with all the photos, schedule, garbage, etc. with the intent to paint Nathan out to be more than just a violent sexual predator who made attempts to blackmail rich people. Not that I am justifying people's behaviors, but someone can be a violent sexual predator, a total parasite of society but that doesn't mean they would necessarily kill someone.

I should add that I’m sooo glad that Nathan’s DEAD! I just don’t want to see Gideon going to prison for it in the next book or any other book for that matter.

  10. Hi Sylvia,

Can you please give us at least a a full 7 days advance notice if the 3rd Crossfire book is going to come out earlier than its May date?I have two boys, a dog, a house, a husband, and full time job that I need to put aside for a full 24 hours so I can devote to reading and re-reading the 3rd book and the other two books.

Just a minor request? LOL! PLEASE

  11. AGordon, I agree with a ton of what you have said. I want to discuss your last statement though. That party thing with Gideon and his mom has bothered me, and I have gone over, and over it. I found the wording "I thought you might like him" and then his "Just remember that he's Eva's friend, Mother. That makes him mine as well." odd. I felt like it was a double entendre with the "mine". I have never thought that Elizabeth was involved with Gideon's abuse other then ignoring it had been happening, but that statement continues to baffle me especially with one he makes later on. When Gideon and Eva are eating dinner at her place after Gideon goes for his appointment with Dr. Petersen, they begin discussing Gideon showing Mags the video of her and Christopher from the party. Eva asks Gideon what Magdalene thought and he says, "It's hard to see yourself being used that way. Especially by someone you think you know, someone who's supposed to care about you.". I keep wondering who he is talking about. The statement is one spoken by someone who knows the meaning of the words behind what he is saying. So who abused Gideon? Who introduced him to the BSDM? In RIY, when Gideon and Eva are driving back from Dr. Lucas' office he says "I was left alone with him more and more frequently.". Who is the "him" Gideon was left alone with more and more? At first I thought it was the doctoral candidate, but now I am thinking it's not. Is it Christopher or is it Chris (the step-father)? I don't think it's Christopher because he is younger then Gideon (by at least 6 years, so he can't possibly be the abuser) so that leaves me with Chris Sr.. It would explain why Gideon has controlling interest in Vidal Records, he wants to finally have the "control" over Chris. So is this who Gideon is referring to when he makes the statement at dinner? Which brings me back to Elizabeth. Did she really not know what was going on? Did she really chose to believe her husband over her son? What is the state of her marriage? From Gideon's comments about Cary I feel like he is eluding to his mother liking younger, good looking men. I don't know. I feel like every time I read I have more questions then answers.

For the pure fun of speculation, Ok, here are my thoughts on this. I have always thought that it was possible that Gideon's abuser was Vidal Sr. But the only reason why I pulled back from that theory was because I keep going to this place of how would Gideon allow this man to still be alive and allow him to continue to live the life that he currently has. The Gideon that I think we met in the books, who probably KILLED Nathan would have crushed Vidal Sr. the moment he secured his own personal wealth.

Did anyone else pick up on Eva's observation of Vidal Sr. when she meet him at the party? Eva noted that he looked more like a doctor then a music executive. I'm not quoting word/line by line. But Eva did mention that he was more of a preppy styled man then music mogul.

So, what if Vidal Sr. is in fact somehow linked to the abuse, how? Maybe he conspired with Dr. Lucas?????

I would love to see Eva make some sort of sacrifice for Gideon like he did for her, (if he did kill Nathan) in the name of removing the person, people that abused him from the face of the planet. Maybe she kick's the ###### out of the person responsible for abusing Gideon by using her newly acquired fighting skills or she kills someone for Gideon. Leveling the playing field between them and really paving the way for them to more forward together without fear.

  12. Corinne admitted to blowing off the 1st event that she was set to meet Eva because she wasn't ready to accept that Gideon was with someone else. Corinne told Eva that Gideon made it clear to her that it was serious between him and Eva to her.

Corinne could have gotten the goods on Eva from Magdalene and started her own search on Eva and started crafting a plan then.

Magdalene told Eva now that Corinne was divorcing her husband she was looking to get back with Gideon or rather that was suggested/implied.

There is definitely a connection between Corinne, Magdalene, & Christopher to work against Gideon & Eva. I would be completely surprised/blown away if neither of them aren't connected to Nathan as well.

One other thing, did anyone pick up on when Gideon told him mom that Cary was his since he was Eva's friend at the party. What was that about? It almost sounds like his mom has a habit of using people in Gideon life against him or attempting to steal people away from

Gideon. Reminds me of True Blood when the vampires claim there humans as a former of protection.

  13. I don't think Monica killed Nathan but I wouldn't be surprised is she has her suspicion about Gideon and Stanton 's involvement . She better than anyone of the outside character's knows or understands Gideon' s & Eva's love connection.

I do think Victor will find out about Nathan and there will/should be some sort of fallout from that. I would like to think this may a bonding agent between Victor and Gideon. Outside of Cary these are the two most important men in Eva's life. She wouldn't be able to handle it well if there was tension between them two.

If Nathan 's case is really closed then I think there is definitely more room for Christopher, Corinne, Magdalene, and Lucas, Brett, and the mystery abuser of Gideon to play a bigger roll in book 3 dare I say a book 4 (fingers cross) : released this year. LOL, LOL!! A girl can dream.

  14. Did anyone notice that Monica never once discuss with Eva how she was feeling now that Eva and Gideon were no longer together or communicating once they were at Eva's apartment for the spa day?

Monica never missed an opportunity to talk to Eva about Gideon or how to handle herself with a man like Gideon, and then all of a sudden, silence from Monica.

I wonder if Monica knew or had an idea about what Gideon was up to and was biting her tongue not to say anything to Eva, since it looks like his plan was working?

  15. I thought about a Corinne and Nathan connection as well. But then I thought there wasn't that much time between the time Eva went to the dinner with Gideon the first time they had sex and when Eva finally met Corinne. If anyone of them were to be connected I would put my money on either Christopher, Magdalene or Dr. Lucas.

  16. If Gideon could get information about Eva, anyone could. Almost everyone in the book has means to dig up information on Eva. Which means anyone of them could of found out about Nathan and injected him back in Eva's life as a way to break her and Gideon up not really knowing how dangerous he is.

You know Gideon looked that the security cameras and was watching what Corinne was doing that day she was in the building. You know he either knows or has an idea about what Corinne is up to by the time he starts using her a pawn in his plan. I think he just needed to put all the pieces together before he could include Eva in on what was really going on, that or the less she knew the better off she was until it’s all over.

of course, he could of given her a heads up, thrown the girl a bone, something to ease the pain. Eva's a smart girl.

  17. Sylvia said somewhere either on here or on the Facebook page that it wasn't until Gideon took Eva away the same weekend that Cary was attacked that put things in over drive for him. It upped the stakes. So things didn't take a turn for the worse until after that event in book 2.

The fact that the police were back at Stanton and took his computers tell me that they were searching for a greater connection between him and Nathan and maybe he and Gideon. If Gideon didn't kill Nathan he is definitely involved BIG time. The comment he made about taking advantage of an opportunity could mean sooo much! We won’t know until book 3.

The same could be said about the snippet that Sylvia released on NYE where Gideon refers to her knowing everything and she saying its dangerous for him to be there. I think that could mean a number of things. Maybe Christopher is after him, maybe something happened between Gideon and Brett, the police want to talk to Gideon and he's been avoiding them. I try not to get too caught up in the meanings of the scenes from the snippets because there is so much were missing prior to that page and right after. I just enjoy the exchange between Eva and Gideon.

I would be totally surprised if Magdalene doesn't play a bigger part in some of this because after re-reading both books she is almost always connected to some of the big events that occurred in there love story. Except for the last part of the 2nd book once Gideon starts to push Eva away.

I want to see a scene where Gideon confronts Corinne about being in the building that day.

Also, wasn't it great when Eva opened the door at Dr. Lucas office and Gideon was standing against the wall waiting. Which means he was liceting to what was being said. He knew then that she was fighting for him, which is what he always told her he wanted her to do for him.

Having someone fight for him, a women that he loved, means the world for him concidering how his own mother didn't fight for him.

  18. Now, I have to re-read the 1st book. I didn't make the connection that Magdalene went to see Eva on the same day she had lunch with Christopher. Maybe its Magdalene who Eva really needs to watch out for and not Corinne.

Sorry for post above, I meant to write that Magdalene's mother may have told her about the abuse that Gideon said happen to him is Gideon's mom told her best friend which is Magdalene's mother.
