  1. I  am  going to read the  book again  but never captivated me as  the other  3  books  had. But some points  posted her are  good so  I will take those into account  when reading again.

In my mind  I see the book  on par with the daily  life of a  soap  show.  And  isn't that is what Sylvia is  doing with the series?

The  time between the books  publication and  the actual  time of the story line is too far in between.IMO

As  said   I rated this  one of my favourites,  but  after reading "This Man"  that is  my favourite.

I loved  Burn series.  For  a short  story  we  found out a lot  regarding  the characters.   Love  Jax.   I look forward to the next one and hope it isn't  a  year  before it is released.

  2. I never rushed out to buy the  book when  it hit the book shelf  but  did get it for Christmas.   It took me a  week to read.  (A sign that it never  gripped me as previous books had, as I read those  overnight).

I loved  having both POW.  But  found the  story line mundane.  The  swing scene  was even out of place.  I  couldn't  really figure  out  the story line in the book  other than "Chris"  didn't know and  Gideon found out it was Clancy involved in the bracelet.

The  rest  was  just  normal  daily life  for  Gideon and Eva over  a  couple of  weeks.

Not sure  to me maybe the long  wait for this  chapter in Eva &  Gideon life was way too long  and not that exciting.  I have read some amazing books in between.   "This  Man"  being one.

I  look forward to book 5 and  hope the wait isn't as long.

Meanwhile I will read this again  and listen to the audio. Hoping it appears to me more.

  3. Tat    has the  baby,        G &  E  find  out that  they can't  have a  child  (after  her  miss  at  14yrs)  They  adopt  the  baby

and she has  A Cary  with her  for  life .

Ok  ......   I  know  that  will not happen  but  a  twist lol

I  think  G  did  look at her,  as he  said he  doesn't care  what she  did before  he  meet  her.

    I wonder.....  hmmmm

  4. I    think Brett has  seen the  tapes and this is  why  he  remembers "how it was".

I also  think  Gideon  has watched  them but  will not admit  to  Eva.

I think  Clancy's  brother  who is  FBI,   knowing about the  "mob"  had  something to do  with  the

    bracelet.

Corinne is going to  go  ape over  the  marriage  lol.

I  would say she has  huge  regrets  leaving  Gideon  and she always thought  he

was  still into  "her"      Book  2,  her  surprise in  Eva,  that she  didn't  look like her.

  5. Hi Mrs. X,

I believe that Gideon watched the entire video.  I think he wanted to see for himself, first hand, what Nathan did to Eva.  I am not sure that Eva would have ever gone into great detail about what exactly Nathan did to her.  She had such a hard time telling Gideon about what happened to her the first time around (about her abuse and all of the documented evidence that was found), I just don’t see Eva sitting down with Gideon and going into great detail.

I don’t think that Eva would want Gideon to have those images playing in his head every time he looks at her or touches her.  It was always very important to Eva, to have Gideon look at her like a se**al creature, desirable, beautiful and untainted.  That’s part of why they fell in love in the first place.  Gideon couldn’t hide his attraction for Eva even from the start.

On the other hand, I think Gideon watched that video so he could assure himself that killing Nathan would be the only option.  Gideon could have firsthand knowledge that the man he was going to kill was sick, would always be a danger to Eva and would never stop until someone wound up dead.  I think that after having watched the video, Gideon gave himself the evidence he needed and the permission that he needed in order to take the next step and kill Nathan.  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Sorry  for the  confusion,   yes  he  admitted to  Eva  that he  saw  what  Nathan had.

I  was  referring to  the   video of  her  with  Brett.    Eva  was begging him not to watch it.

Knowing  Gideaon  I don't see him not watching  it all?

And  my thoughts,   after reading  the end of the book again today.

Gideaon  said that everyone will know of their  marriage "real soon".      Not  sure who posted that

they thought  he may have given the  scoop to Deanna.  I am thinking the  48 hrs   was  from  that  point.

Gideon  would  want  Eva  with  him,   so   keeping the marriage a secret  isn't  something  he  would want for long.

Plus  now there is  "reasonable  doubt"  re  Nathan  he  would have  no reason to  hide it anymore.

Hope this makes  sense,  it is  4am and I need sleep lol.   Have a  good day all.

  6. hahaha! good point! They've both got work to do.

Gideon more than her though, I think. He disappeared to California without telling her...after they were married! He said he was busy the whole time...and I'm sure he was...but, REALLY? Not even time for a 2 minute call or text message???

I wonder if he was unintentionally (and completely unconsciously) punishing her for the extra drama.

He  covered this  action  by saying there   will be times  that  she  needs to trust  him.     And  being married  helps  her  to feel  more  secure  when  he does things  like  this.   He  may  not have  wanted  anyone to follow  his trail to  CA and had  to know for

sure if the  tape  existed  before  mentioning it  to Eva.

Who  thinks he watched the  whole  video?

  7. I don't want Victor to end up with Shelly.  That would put Victor in a bad position keeping secrets from either his daughter or his wife.

They   both  want  him happy.    I  can't see  Monica  leaving Stanton.

Wouldn't  surprise me if  Shelly  was  abused  either   adding to her  understanding of the  situation  maybe.

Oh  there  could be so many twists in this   story  line.

  8. Hi Mrs X,

Fantastic!  I have family in Australia.  Very beautiful country!  Did you get a chance to go to one of Sylvia's book signings?

No    she  was  on the  east  coast  and I live on the  west.   I  would have gone for  sure.

I  was told about the  book "Bared  to you"   from a  friend in the  US.

FS   was  well known  here  and  we were  discussing it and she  mentioned this  book  to me.

That  was  last year and  I am  guessing  Sylvia is  better known here now for  her  CF  series.

  9. Though I suspect she did know about the pregnancy, I'll play devil's advocate here for a minute and say "what if she hadn't known -- yet. What would she have done once she did find out?

Terminate the pregnancy, even though finding a care provider willing to perform one past 12 weeks wouldn't be easy (clinics and hospitals in the United States are run by private companies and/or non-profits, so individual institutions get to decide what, if any, abortion services they will provide.)Obviously, it wasn't a planned pregnancy to begin with. And Corrine wouldn't want any sort of "complication" diminishing her chances of becoming Mrs. Gideon Cross. She at least knew Gideon well enough to guess that if Gideon did know she was carrying Jean-Francois' baby, he'd urge her to go back to her husband -- and Mr. Control Freak Gideon would dump her to try to "make" her do it.

I  am thinking  she  knew and  as  soon as she  did  she  came  flying back  to  Gideon in the hope of  snagging  him in the sack again   and then  telling him it is  "his".     She   would  have been  thinking  having a baby  with her  husband  would end any chance of  her  getting him  back.   She  didn't  factor  him  meeting  someone  else  at that  stage  because he had  been  alone since they  split up.      So  many  story  lines here.

It  was  after   she  was told that  Gideon and  Eva  was  engaged by her  husband  that  she  took  drastic  measures  knowing that  she probably  will never  get  Gideon back.

  10. Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been answered, but I'm a bit confused.

In book 2 - dectective Graves explained to Eva her theory that Gideon was Nathan's killer.  She went on to say that it didn't matter, they were throwing the story away cause Gedeon was no threat and Nathan didn't deserve to live.  She even suggested that Eva should go back to him cause he really loved her.

Why is it in book 3 that they are still working on this case?  And now once again they said it was a cold case.

I wonder if Victor Reyes will discover on his own that it was Gideon who killed Nathan???

Victor   read the  reports  so I am  guessing he  knows that  Gideon  was a  suspect.

As  for  Graves,   she  knows it  was  Gideon  but  can't  prove  it.

But the  bracelet  has  her  questioning again.  Her  comment  "I  hate  lose  ends"

She  probably  hates  not  knowing  how that bracelet  ended up where it  did.

The  case is  cold as  far as the  police are concerned.

I  wouldn't  be  surprised if she ends up with  Victor  lol

  11. Hi Nrock.,

I think that when a person applies to become a member of this forum, the administration has a waiting period where they are in the process of validating memberships.  I don’t think that there is a huge department looking after that and as such, it may take the person who validates the memberships a while to activate said memberships.  What does everyone think

I  agree.  I waited days to be validated and being able to post.

I have been an administrator /  moderator on a  few  forums and the process is  usually  quick.

I am guessing that  Sylvia  may  be  validating  members  hence the delay.

I  am  just  happy to be  posting and  love all the  different  points of  view.

  12. OK...here's what's been bugging me most about EIY. I'm curious if anyone else caught this too.

Nathan's bracelet ended up on a Russian mobsters wrist and they know he was killed by another mafia guy because he was under surveillance... Soooo....being under surveillance, wouldn't they know all of the dead mobsters moves that could tie him him to the bracelet? The police should have SOME type of lead as to where, when or how he got the bracelet, right? You don't have a guy under surveillance and then not have a clue what he's been up to or who he's been seen with.

Was anyone else puzzled by this?

It could be Clancy (or someone he arranged), but I also thought of Christopher. I don't know if he has the connections, but we've already seen him act pretty ruthless and he would definitely be sleazy enough to try to cash in with Gideon...and cash in BIG. And he was awfully quiet during EIY.

After  reading the  book  a  few  times and picking up on  different  things.

I  think it  was  Clancy.    His  brother  works  for the  FBI  in  NY  and  would have  know about the  mob  and  the surveillance.

Clancy  may have been watching  Nathan   (remember  he  said to Eva that  he  wasn't  watching  Cary and  never expected that)   he    may have  removed the bracelet  before the  police  found the  body.

And  this  could  now   tie  Monica  to Stanton.

Maybe the  next  book   will tell us  "who,  how &  why".

  13. I think the cuffs were not attached to anything. Eva had them around her wrists and Gideon instructed her where to put her hands and what to hold on to (the pillow). He didn't attach them to anything.... I think he is being cautious and taking baby steps with Eva

Correct.   I  also see  more  coming in the  future  books.

Have you noticed  Gideon wanting Eva  to  submit  more in this  book.

    Scott Elrod  is  my  Gideon!

  14. I am  very  new  in  all ways  to the forum and  Sylvia's  books.

I  discovered  her books  last year and have been following  Eva's  and  Gideons  journey.

    I  love  them  (three).

    Oh  yeah!
