  1. My suspicious mind has always thought Monica had some "unsavoury" dealings in the past - not of her own making - perhaps relating to the "whale" husband. This ties in with Gideon and his history of gambling for money and investing in the industry. And the murder cover-up.

For Monica,  Victor was not an option - committed to money not love. Husband #1 had a deviant son.....end of marriage. Husband #2 was the gambler....perhaps the reason this marriage ended. Husband #3 Richard is her safe house. He is smitten with her and indulges her. I don't think she will give that up.

  2. well, the website is almost back to normal....hurray....still looks different, but at least the tweets show up..... the community section which used to be at the bottom of page is still missing.    .if her web people want to do anything, they should update her Sylviaday.com website...   hasn't been updated since 3/2/15   Her coming soon page should at least mention OWY

Perhaps Sylvia can ask Gideon to "get his people onto it" .........or is Gideon not talking to Sylvia this week!

  3. Okay, far-fetched I know, but suppose Dr Petersen's advice has been no sex till (second) wedding night! Then we will have a lot of frustration during the platonic phase and a significant wedding night.

Who am I kidding? That won't work!

  4. Lighthouse: I think the redheaded receptionist has been the person getting Corrine into Gideon's office. The excerpt solves (I hope) a mystery that's been bugging me since Captivated, which is how did Corrine get into the reception area of Gideon's office in the Crossfire soon after she got out of the hospital?

I wouldn't read too much into this red-headed receptionist thing. There have been other receptionists in the books, even a male once. I think there is enough to manage and tie together without adding more side issues.

I was pleased to hear on one of the Sylvia interviews that Cary resolves his issues happily....whatever this means. It's got to be good for Gideon and Eva to have Cary independent and content.

I wonder if the scene in the excerpt is on Friday following Dr P and dinner. Perhaps they have resolved to have no sex for a period of time. He wet his lips with a slow swipe of his tongue and I nearly moaned aloud. Staying out of his bed was going to kill me, but it had to be done. Also Eva will have one week more of work and perhaps move onto wedding planning +/- Cross Charities work.

  5. Has anyone seen what Sylvia is referring to in CBY? I was hoping for some answers in OWY.

I agree with jmhope. The reference is Chapter 4, page 67. Dr Travis advises Eva that her life if complicated with Gideon, was simpler with Brett and she is wishing things were simpler.

Brett was "part of your life at a pivotal time, and the end of your relationship caused a bit of an epiphany for you".

"I'm going to avoid Brett, but I wonder if that means I'm not dealing with the root of the problem. Like an alcoholic...."

Dr Travis: "Eva...the fact you're even asking [do I deserve Brett] ...that's your problem right there".

  6. The Crossfire four book box set is due out (in Australia) at the end of this month.....ready for Valentine's Day and The Fifty Shades Movie.

It seems unlikely that one would release a four book set followed closely by the fifth book. So my guess is that One With You will not be published for another 6 months.

  7. Possibly reworking other comments here - apologies, but there are a lot.

*I love the last chapter of CBY. There is so much hope moving forward. Gideon is reaching out to Eva about issues he has hitherto kept bottled up. And they are declaring their love simply and without sex. Eva is finding her space with respect to working for Cross Industries - she shows great strength of character and ethos in declaring to Mark she will not work on the PhazeOne campaign. So I envisage great companionship and mutual and respective goals from Gideon and Eva in Book Five.

    * I doubt the next book will be released anywhere near Valentine's Day because of the marketing for Fifty Shades Movie.

    * I am disappointed that Cary has not made more progress with his love triangle. He went to see Dr Travis but we don't see that Cary made any resolutions. He is drifting - helping Tatiana out because she is needy, but not showing clear resolve or commitment towards Trey. Cary is more than happy to accept "charity" from Eva, Stanton, and Gideon. He is working as a model which I guess reflects his focus on image. Look at his personal life and the image is pretty ****ed up. Perhaps he will end up working for Crossroads and making worthwhile contributions to people's lives and that will stimulate change.

    * I think the Brett dilemma is over. He is keen to change the Golden video clip (Gideon worries this shows his true feelings for Eva)

*Anne Lucas, Corinne, and maybe Deanna are threats moving forward. I bit like the ex-wives club revenge!

*I think Book 5 will focus on the Landon/Cross animosity and Gideon and Eva will tackle it together with positive resolution.

  8. he already planned on going before he caught up with the guys.

I agree with the long hair wig thing. and yes she had to know who Cary is its all over the news.  I loved that the little tidbit about Anne really haven to work at getting him aroused

,it just shows he wasn't into her

anyone else think that Landons son is the one dating Ireland? that wont end well

My thoughts exactly, agoodbook. The teleconference (blow job) dealt with sending a team to California.

The wig is, as suggested before, indicative of premeditated interference.

Also Gideon's impotency with Anne may relate to her brother. Did I imagine Gideon saying something about being restrained?

The link with the Landons might be interesting. Also if Gideon loses his business focus with his obsession with Eva.

  9. Hi llurvegc, I haven't decided yet when I'm going to read the book. If I can stand it I might wait until my Christmas holidays, then the wait for the final book won't seem too long and also I can savour the book with a huge pot of coffee. As much as I want to devour book 4, I also want to see how the series ends. What shall I do..what shall I do???

Waiting till Christmas.....dgcaffeine you will need to avoid all fan community comments. I shall be avoiding all fan community comments until after reading the book......no spoilers for me!

  10. Sylvia Day I understand that many people are anxious for the release of Captivated by You. What I don't understand is why some readers choose to believe that the delay is due to greed, disrespect, or any other character flaw. Why assume that I'm such a horrible person who is lying around on vacation every day, lazy and unwilling to work? Really, if your personal opinion of me is low, why bother to comment on my page or follow my books? I read books by authors whose work I enjoy. If you don't enjoy my work, please move on.

SO, the first snippet for Captivated by You was October 2013. Since then there have been infrequent snippets until recently when there has been weekly "teasers".

I don't think people are accusing Sylvia of being idle or unwilling to work. I'm sure the life of a highly acclaimed author is busy, filled with varying demands for time and attention, and (hopefully) well compensated.

It is the readers who compensate the author. One of the author's responsibilities in these days of social media and internet news is to manage the readers expectations. I suspect many fans/readers check the weekly "teaser" for news of a release date. When they find another snippet and NOT a release date, they have unrequited expectation which transfers to frustration and disappointment with subsequent venting of emotion on the website. This is creating quite a negative atmosphere.

ALSO, I find Sylvia's statement "I read books by authors whose work I enjoy. If you don't enjoy my work, please move on" intriguing. In all the negative comments, I don't think fans are saying they don't like Crossfire series - quite the opposite. They like Crossfire so much they are eager for more.

MY THOUGHTS - stop the Tuesday teasers until there is a release date and manage the readers/fans expectations more effectively.

  11. Gideon doesn't owe Corinne any explanations hopefully she has slithered back to France with her estranged husband...

Yes, I thought the quote was reference to Corinne, but similarly had hoped she was out of the picture.

Lawyer, maybe ( what's his name again?)- the prenuptial agreement was quite unbalanced.

Mother, most definitely, but I don't think Gideon wastes many words with her.

    Arnoldo..it fits.
