  1. I'm not sure how I feel about the excerpt, it is strange that Gideon is being a little short with Eva but he could be planning a surprise for her and wants to be sure she will be home. He could also be distracted thinking about business at the office or a situation. Only time will tell, I can't wait for the book we are getting close. I'm so excited at the length of the book it looks like we will be in store for a ride. I am looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts and insights in to the book. Yay us!

  2. If Gideon hadn't killed Nathan it was only a matter of time before he would have killed Eva. I do think it would have been better if it would have been in self defense but it wasn't. It is wrong to just take a life they were going to be in an impossible sitution of kill or be. killed. He was able to get some of her garbage and track her easily and take pics of her and that is beyond scary.

Usually I like to peak at the last chapter first but I just can't with the Crossfire series so I will read from beginning to end. Crossing my fingers for their exciting journey!

Hi Patricia -Ann ... I was thinking that she was referring to herself as one of the women ... She was ready to leave her husband ...and maybe Corrine  if she's the doctor behind her crazy behavior . Corrine and Anne need to go away asap... I dont want to read about them anymore . Deanna too... Unless she really is being nice . But still, that's someone Gideon's been with :(

Maybe the email has something to do the Christopher and the record company ? I really like Chris Sr. btw.. I like that he stood up to Elizabeth and then went to Gideon .

I thought he did get the flash drive in Cali ?

What else does everyone want to see in this final book?? So many questions to answer!!

Hi Nathalia, I was totally thinking the same thing about the two women being herself and Corrine. I also don't mind Deanna as long as she doesn't have an agenda. I also thought the email had something to do with the record company and he did receive a copy of the flash drive but he wants them all if more are out there. He doesn't want anybody to see his wife like that and if he can stop it you know he will. I can't wait for the final book to come out!!!!!!!

  4. My gut feeling is she should stay with Stanton.  She surely has some feelings for him, it can't just be the money that she is there for.  She may still after Victor but he seems to have had a successful life on his own and I suspect would be better off remaining that way.

I agree with you. I hope Victor can find love again.  On a different topic and I believe this may have been mentioned before but I don't remember there being an answer, maybe you will know or if anybody else may know, but in OWY when Eva leaves the hotel after finding all of his "toys" and she's sitting in the restaurant when Gideon finds her he says that he can't be seen there do we know why? I'm thinking it's because of the mogul that he is but I'm not sure.  Any thoughts?

I think it was because he was upset with himself because Eva found that stuff and he was so relieved when he found her that he couldn't handle all of his feelings and he just wanted to be alone with her and make things right.

  5. Ok I just read the new excerpt and I have to agree that Eva use Corinne as a distraction for her to slip away and get ready for work. This gives her a chance to leave and something for Monica to think about. We know from the Valentine's Day excerpts that they will see each other a Gideon's office but we do not know what advice Monica gave Eva over lunch so maybe what we will see is Eva beginning to put their plan into motion. I'm just guessing here but who knows, I'm just happy and excited to get the chance to speculate and I love reading these little tidbits!

  6. Thanks, Beans! My lucky/educated guess that Gideon had a specific reason for admitting Corrine into his office for privacy stemmed from what Sylvia has said repeatedly: Gideon does everything for a reason. Still, the snippet stunned me that Gideon actually told Corrine he was married.

What I did not see coming, however, was Corrine's too-calm reaction to seeing a wedding photo. As always, Sylvia makes us wonder why and worry about what's coming next. Did Corrine not believe Gideon? After all, Brett thought the whole wedding was bulls*** and not legally binding. Too, when Eva showed up, ending Corrine's meeting with Gideon, Scott introduced her over the intercom as "Ms. Trammell." So maybe Corrine took that as "proof" she's not really Eva Cross.

I hope Corrine doesn't turn vindictive and start publicly discussing those couple of weeks Gideon mislead her about his feelings for her. Those weeks that included the crucial days he used her as a cover while planning and carrying out Nathan's killing. If she raises questions about Gideon's whereabouts any time the night of the Kingsman Vodka event, that could be big trouble.

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait for the next book!!! But I'll patiently wait as long as it takes. I'm sure that had Sylvia had her way, we'd already have it. And anyone who gives her heat because the publisher hasn't announced the release date yet loses the right to call themselves a fan. Real fans don't trash favorite authors.

Well said Lighthouse! I totally agree with everything you said. Now you've got me thinking about Corrine and what she might do with that information. Although only a handful of people know about the marrage & if the news leaks Gideva knws who to look at. She already has him P O'ed about the book and hurting Eva with it, I would think she wouldn't want to throw anymore gasoline to that fire but hey she is a woman on a mission so look out!

  7. Here's another idea about why Gideon let Corrine into his office and frosted the glass ... Corrine was there to show him old pictures of the two of them together. Was Gideon about to bring out the pictures of him and Eva marrying? Show Corrine the marriage certificate? He showed that stuff to Brett in his office. Does Gideon keep those copies in his desk? Maybe he was ready to hit Corrine with proof of the marriage, but by chance Eva's arrival interrupted him. Eva was there, so he instantly dropped everything to greet her, touch her, had eyes for only her and all but forgot there was anyone else present.

The first time I read the excerpt, I practically wanted to smack Gideon, like Eva did that day when she barged into his office thinking he'd just finished a nooner with Corrine. But reading it again and thinking about it, I recalled Gideon has a reason for everything he does. Corrine's trying to hurt Eva. He'll do anything to stop anyone from hurting Eva. So he had a reason for admitting his ex to the inner sanctum of his office, and whatever he planned to do, he was going to do without witnesses being able to see through the glass. He kicked Nathan's you know what in his office the day that monster showed up unannounced planning to hurt Eva with pictures.

Turns out your idea was some what correct. Reading the scene from Gideon's POV is almost exactly what you predicted (kudos).

  8. I love, love, love Gideon's POV! Finally he told cray-cray he and Eva are married its about time. It was interesting that Corinne did not freak out when she heard the news. Besides the book maybe she has another scheme playing out somewhere in that messed up head of hers. I certainly hope not but hey you never know.  Lighthouse I agree with your theory about Arash's (whom I love) comment.

  9. I have not been to Sylvia's page in months and was surprised to see the excerpt and the One With You on the coming soon page. I'm so excited I can't wait hopefully it will not be too long but I don't care I Iove, love this series. Everyone on this forum is truly a fan and I enjoy reading your insights and theories. I haven't posted much but I will dive in on the last book. Its great knowing that I'm not the only one totally obsessed with these books.
