  1. put a lot of women together, and hey presto!

Question. Why are they called bleachers?

    From Wikipedia:

A key feature of bleachers is that they are typically uncovered and unprotected from the sun; thus the wooden seats were "bleached by the sun."[1] The term "bleachers" used in this sense can be traced back to at least 1889.[1]The Dickson Baseball Dictionary states that the open seating area was called the "bleaching boards", as early as 1877. Dickson lists as a secondary definition the fans sitting in them. By the early 1900s, the term "bleachers" was being used for both the seating area and its occupants.

  2. Was re reading and came across that part of the book (Bared to You) when Gideon brought Eva back to his apartment from the party at his parents' house. Where he said "I finally get what is holding us back" and he said that Eva just has to accept the fact that she is submissive and accept his control. WHAT was THAT all about? I don't see where that was coming from at all, anyone care to elaborate on this?

I think this is a part in the book that it could've done without.

  3. this was one of the reasons I read the books again, because I didn't like Gideon the first time round. I found him controlling for all the wrong reasons, his behaviour and attitude stank. But it all fell into place the second, third, fourth............. Time around. His Eva is his lifeline and safe place.

True. You can't help falling in love with him and his insane passion LOL but he could've went about it a different way.

  4. I can't wait till we get to that chapter to discuss the trip to NC because I do think Gideon was very cruel to Eva at the outset and I have a hard time putting that aside...I love Gideon as much as the next girl but if Eva wasn't so broken I wonder if she would have put up with all that turmoil and got out of that dam car!!!

That was a little harsh for me to take in, too. Even after I've read it over and over again.

  5. It was just a thought that popped in my head because whenever a book cover has a picture on it, I always wonder what's the significance that it plays in the storyline. that's true too. The world wide covers have a perfume bottle and the only thing I can think of with that is Gideon always says he loves the way she smells. We know his scent is a bodywash but it's never said if she wears any perfume or what kind of bodywash she uses. I'm an amateur at theories unlike the other ladies  on here who I consider the experts! : )

Its wonderful to put it out there!!! We all have fifty million opinions on what's what when it comes to this series...that's why it's great that we can all gather here to share & learn! :)

  6. She did, however, hint he might be a bigger character in the fourth novel. There's hope yet that slimeball will get put in his place. He's had a thing for going after Gideon's women, but he'll have picked the wrong one to mess with - New Eva!

Do you think Christopher will some way find out about the whole Nathan debecle and try to use it against Gideon & Eva?

  7. okay just throwing this out and forgive me because I forgot who mentioned this in their post because I want to give them credit for it. They were talking about baggage both of them had. Originally I had thought the luggage tags on the cover of EWY would be a gift from Eva to Gideon but now I think the luggage tags symbolize the baggage they both have especially Gideon when we get more into his past. Each book cover had a picture that symbolized something: BTY: was Gideon's cuff links but they also reminded me of their rings. RIY: was the FOB Eva gave to Gideon because she wanted him to give him his own key for him to use when he came over to her house like he did with her key to his apartment. EWY: luggage tags symbolizing Gideon's baggage of killing nathan and his past. What does everyone think??

Wow. That's an interesting food for thought...never even thought about it that way, but that could be it. But, if that were what Sylvia was aiming for, I would think the other covers (world wide) would each carry the same symbolism. What do you think?

  8. so we agree that stressful situations can set off the nightmares? Because I was thinking, now that Nathan is dead, and once the police investigation is over, and Gideon and Eva talk about his abused coupled with therapy, can they sleep together in the same bed? Atypical sexual parasomnia doesn't seem to go away overnight.

I think as long as he takes his prescribed medication, they should be okay.

BUT - Eva is in for a whirlwind with the dreams. Nathan may be permanently out of the picture now, but the stress of what Gideon has done is going to make her an insomniac!

  9. It doesn't matter to me what Sylvia does or doesn't do to rehabilitate Monica's character...I detest her!! How lazy or disconnected can you possibly be not to participate in daily care of your child. I'm sure she had gobs of servants at her beck and call to do all the mundane household duties like laundry and cooking etc. Do you mean this would not leave her enough time to care for your beautiful little girl?? And how could she not notice the relationship between Eva and Nathan surely it must have been strained and I've said this before don't you think Eva was afraid to sleep in her own bed or had nightmares ?? Monica is a neurotic self absorbed woman and I don't care how beautiful she is I don't see how a smart guy like Stanton can tolerate her for any length of time LOL

I am on your side with this!!! Between her and Gideon's mother, it's no wonder both of these poor individuals are so screwed up in the head!!!

  10. Hi Jenny720,

Welcome to the forum!  I haven’t seen you before so I hope you enjoy yourself.

In response to your comment, I agree that Monica won’t ever be completely comfortable with Eva or with her independence.  I don’t know how Monica would react if she found out about Gideon’s role in Nathan’s murder.  I guess that will depend on how shallow or fickle Monica is.  On one hand she could see Gideon as a man who so desperately and completely loves her daughter that he would do anything for her.

On the other hand, Monica may freak out that her daughter has now hooked up with a murderer.  If Gideon is capable of murdering one person then couldn’t he be capable of murdering her precious Eva?  Only Monica truly knows what is running through that airhead of hers and thus far she isn’t telling us.

KiMa had brought it up in another posting, why would Monica feel comfortable in telling Stanton what happened to Eva and not Victor?  Victor is Eva’s father after all yet, Monica has never seen fit to tell the father of her child what happened?  Why?  I find it odd.  Maybe we will get answers on June 4th.

As far as the Cary thing goes, I don’t know if he is on Team Gideon.  I know that he is on Team Eva for sure.  Thus far, Gideon has caused Eva more pain than good, so I could see why Cary would be reticent about Eva dating Gideon.  His concerns are valid.

I also think that Cary sees that Eva is acting completely differently with Gideon than she has ever acted with any other boyfriend.  I think that Cary may feel just a twinge of guilt because in a way he is the one who encouraged Eva to start dating Gideon.   Maybe if Eva hadn’t taken Cary’s advice then she wouldn’t have been so miserable in her dating relationship with Gideon.  Who knows?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

Hello Gigi! Thank you for the warm welcome to my new addiction! LOL

The thought never crossed my mind as to why Monica felt comfortable in telling Stanton what happened to Eva and not Victor....makes you wonder.....

  11. Hi Jenny,

Wowie zowie lady!!  Corinne drugging Gideon?  Wow, wow, wow!  I am starting to bite my nails in anticipation here.  I hope our happy couple gets their happily ever after. :)

LOL!! I want marriage, babies, the whole she-bang!!! But we can never forget how desperate Corinne is and how she will stop at nothing to get the "one that got away".

  12. Getting back to Eva's safety, and how Gideon feels about her, twice he has mentioned that he wouldn't survive her. The last time it was mentioned, they were having their chat in the car, at he end of Reflected. It goes to show his state of mind, if anything were to happen to her. This controlling, ball breaking, man is so fragile. It's heartbreaking.

And this is why we are so in love with him as well!

  13. Hi KiMa,

I agree with you.  I need answers.  The romance is fine and all, but at this point I need answers and lots of them.  I can no longer be placated with whispered "sweet nothings".  Gideon needs to start talking...fast! :)

I want meaningful, on his knees, in tears "I love you"...however he chooses to say it.

I want her to finally stop being confused about some things he says at times LOL

I basically want to sit on my couch and bawl my eyes out when he finally gets to that point LOL
