  1. Totally agree jennpenn I loved FSOG also. And cut the author a little slack of course she is not as polished of a writer as SD but it was her first attempt. I thought the story was amazing and shocking at the same time it drew you right in. I loved the emailing and I also loved CG because he had a great sense of humor and they were both so witty. That being said I also love BTY and RIY and I am so thankful I gave these books a try because I love how SD writes!! I know a few of have said they didn't like Gideon on the first read it tok me about the third read to really like him. He doesn't have a sense of humor that we've seen too much of only on a few occasions has he laughed and Eva always says she gets a warm rush of pleasure!! I hope to see more happy Gideon in EWY.. But may thanks to both writers for penning such amazing stories that keep us ALS chatting for hours... Gotta love it!! :) :)

Definitely glad I wasn't the only one. I actually really did like FSOG. There were some moments were I was just like "uh", but I did enjoy the books.

I was super hesitant when it came to picking up BTY. It was constantly being recommended to me, but I really wasn't too sure about it. Then I just one day decided to bite the bullet and get it. I liked Eva right off the bat, but I still had CG in my head, and I just didn't really care for Gideon. It wasn't until I got RIY, and re-read them, and that was it, I was done :D

Of course, props to those authors and its great having a group of people to be able to to talk to about their books :)

  2. Thanks GiGi

I have felt  though reading some of the posts from everyone else and the conclusions people have been coming to on the Chapter a day series a lot of questions I have had are being answered and it is really interesting to hear how people perceive these chapters and the conclusions they come to and it does make you think again about what you have read and how you got to that conclusion.

    thanks :)

I feel the same way, and I'm so glad that I joined. All the theories that are being put forth are go great and it makes me look at a completely different way and notice things that I might not have thought about otherwise :)

  3. I agree don't think I've give any assignment as much attention as I have to these books and the upcoming EWY !

I've read and re read the books too many times to mention then listened to it and had great fun on the forum brain storming what we expect to be revealed in the coming Gideon and Eva crossfire story !

I've lost count how many times I've read them, and I'm sure its going to be the same once EWY comes out.

I've still yet to listen to them too. I've heard that the recordings were pretty good.

  4. It bothers me too. SD is amazing not only for writing BTY and RIY but for also giving us the snippets and snapshots. She has gone above and beyond to help make the wait for EWY more bearable.

I completely agree! I've never had this much enjoyment from an author when waiting for a book, even when that wait has been slightly painful ;)

  5. He definitely started tracking Nathan's whereabouts once he saw Stanton.    All the stuff Gideon found out - this is from Chapter one â€œI won’t apologize. I’d do it again.†His grip tightened on me. “The options were restraining orders, increased security, vigilance… for the rest of your life. There was no guarantee you’d be safe unless Nathan was dead.â€

I wonder if Gideon and Stanton were working together. I'm curious to see if they established anything together. This might have already been addressed, and I might have missed it.

  6. It's probably nothing, but it just struck me as a bit strange, and he had foreign tattoos? Gideon plant, to test Eva's faithfulness? This was the first time they have spent time apart properly, not including breakups. He was as insecure about leaving her, as she was about him having the pick of any women. Sheila just got in the way.

That's an interesting thought, and it could be possible.

Everytime I think I've figured something out, new possibilities pop up.

  7. I've got a paper copy reserved at a great indie bookstore near my apartment. Plus I'll be downloading the audiobook from audible.com.

In case of emergency -- i.e. the book shipment arrives late -- I have my Kindle at the ready to download. I've never yet had a problem with my bookstore getting something late, but I'm not leaving anything to chance.

I'm a natural speed reader, so I expect to have my first read-through done in about 3 1/2 hours. Then I'll spend more time re-reading to savor it all over again and to dive back into Bared and Reflected as well, to connect some dots.

Plus the audiobook runs a little over 11 hours, so I can spread that out over days.

    SQUEEEEE!!!!

I wish I was as prepared as you :)

I have my pre-ordered placed as I know I will never have a chance of getting to the bookstore to get my hands on an actual copy.

I do know that the minute I have it, it won't take me very long to get through it.

I'm so excited, I can hardly stand the wait anymore!!

  8.

I don't know where I'm going with this but I don't want Gideon to be as bad as he appears at this point.  I think he is an emotionally immature man with a good heart.

I completely agree with you. Myself, I don't think that he is a bad man, and I certainly don't want him to be. I do think that all of his intentions, are good, but emotionally, he does have some things to learn.

I also think that was acting under an extreme amount of stress with the whole Nathan situation.

  9. How can you stay away from spoilers?  I would have to ask... What are they talking about in the second half of chapter 2?    Do they run into Corinne in chapter 3? etc. etc.  Every time I say I'm not going to read spoilers I start looking for them.  I can't help myself.

Most of the time I don't look for spoilers at all. But then, there are times when I just can't help myself, and I want to know. I say I won't look, and then I sometimes will just catch myself looking anyway haha.

  10. My question would be:

    Was Gideon lying when..

Gideon told Dr. Peterson that he had sex on the  average of twice a week before Eva--

but Gideon also told Eva that he's had sex more with her than all of the women combined..

I was thinking about this last night. If he was lying, who was he lying to?

There are so many possibilities and I can't wait to see which ones were right.

  11. I'm hoping Eva tells her father (albeit a conversation I wouldn't want to have) before he hears it from an outside source, ie Detective Graves or even worse reading about it in the papers-Eva's worse nightmare. She can then explain her reasons for not wanting him to know. That would be one emotional conversation. Poor girl.

I agree. I do think it would be best if Eva were the one to tell her father what's happened. Its always worse when you find out something of this magnitude from an outside source. Its going to be just as tough on her telling him as it will be for him finding out everything.

  12. We need Victor sooner rather than later. :)

Absolutely :) I just keep trying to picture how he would react to finding out about everything that has happened to Eva.

I keep dreading seeing how Victor is going to react when he finds out about the abuse Eva suffered and how Monica kept it from him all those years. He had every right as her father to know about it and do his best to help Eva feel safe afterwards. It also would have helped him understand Eva's behavior later on. I'm sure he would have found some way to follow Nathan 's trail, too, and perhaps prevented the stalking. I can only imagine how furious he will be. And he will also find out that everyone else knew - Stanton, Cary, and Gideon and still he was kept in the dark.

I agree, I think he's going to be completely furious, but at the same time I feel bad for him. I mean, its not something that anyone wants to know, but he's been kept in the dark for this long. I think he's going to explode.

  13. Poor Victor. At the beginning of Bared, his first conversation to Eva, he says "some nights I wake up in a cold sweat thinking about you in New York. I get through it by telling myself you're too smart to take chances, thanks to two parents who've drilled safety rules into your DNA." Oh Victor if only you knew, what's happened/happening to your little girl. He will be mortified.

    Oh, if he only knew.

  14. All they really have to do is sit back and let the media work themselves into a frenzy.

I agree, Eva needs to be up front with Brett, she aint going down that road again. but will he take no gracefully, given that he wrote a song and thought about her, hoping she would turn up at his gigs. I'm sure Victor would have something to say!

I'm actually Curious as to what Victor would say given all of this.

  15. On the night of the dinner, they were both vying for Eva's affections, but because of Gideons behaviour Eva wasn't prepared to give him the opportunity.

I think Victor will find out about Eva's abuse. I'm sure Graves will let it slip. Eva said that Gideon didn't look at her nearly the entire evening he was there, but I'm sure Victor kept his eye on him, trying to read him.

I agree. I think eventually Victor will find out what happened with Eva. I also don't think Victor is going to keep his eye off of Gideon. I'm curious to see what Victor would have to say if anything were to come of this theory.
