  1. Have started re-reading from the beginning of Bared. I'm seeing it in a totally different way, knowing what I do now. I understand Gideon so much more. His fears, his desperation for wanting Eva, protecting her at all costs.

The depth of the story has increased hugely.

I agree, now that we know everything Eva and Gideon have both been through, you see and understand them more. I swear Sylvia has ruined me, I usually read 3 or so books a week. But for the last 2 months all I've been reading is the Crossfire series, over and over. I always have one of the books with me at all times, I read it at the dentist office, waiting for the kids some where, I even read it waiting a red lights. I just can't get enough, I haven't had an interest in picking up another book, that is so not like me. When will I be able to move on? Haha :)

  2. OMG!!! I nearly choked over my cup of coffee!!!!

I'm spinning all the wildest fantasies here!!!!

Okay first as I scroll down the page I see a picture of a  naked man with an incredible, ummm backside. Then I saw your post, I started laughing so hard, my husband came in the room to see what I was laughing at. He looked at the picture, rolled his eyes and said is that supposed to be Gideon. He walked out of the room shaking his head, LOL..... Shhhh, I think he may be is jealous of Gideon;)

  3. I'm hoping that we we get the name of the title, we're getting the publication date too!!!

Known publication dates coming up (this is from www.sylviaday.com)

    Thurs. Aug. 15: Afterburn

    Tues. Oct. 15: Spellbound

    Tues. Nov. 12: Aftershock

    Crossfire Four??? Thurs. Dec. 12?

If I'm right, I'm buying us the first round of drinks at Primal!!!

I think September would fit in nicely for the release of book #4.... December is definitely better than 2014 but seriously, this is torture!  December is such a crazy time with the holidays and all..... I hope the release of book 4 is sooner, much sooner rather than later!

  4. I'm reading the series again, In Reflected in You on page 312, when Eva goes to see Corinne at her apartment. Eva asks Corinne, did you have a nooner with someone from one of the other offices? Or did you muss yourself up before you stepped outside? Because Eva feels that Corinne saw her coming from across the street. My question is, what was Corinne doing at Crossfire that day? Do you think she went to see Gideon but he was busy (with Nathan)?

  5. it is a good thought of yours, I must admit the bit in RIY where Lizzard said that Christopher was there and said nothing happened has always confused me as I always wondered if he was in the same room or there when Gideon was being abused and somewhat threatened that this would happen to him if he told.  It would be good if we got to the source of his jeleousy.

    Sheens :)

    Sheens~

I've wondered about that as well. I wonder if we ever know?

  6. Something just struck me about why Anne Lucas may have chosen Corrine as the collateral damage victim to get revenge on Gideon -- why choose Corrine to be set up for suicide instead of Eva?

Because Corrine left her husband for Gideon, and Anne probably believed Gideon had decided to marry Corrine once the divorce from JFG went through.

So Corrine got (Anne would falsely believe) what Gideon refused to give to Anne. As soon as Anne became willing to leave her husband for Gideon, Gideon rejected her and sent her back to her husband. In contrast, Corrine (Anne would falsely believe) was welcomed back with open arms by Gideon, who rejected his new girlfriend, Eva, and started "dating" Corrine in front of the world.

So Anne picked Corrine instead of Eva. Interesting, because Anne could have conceivably made a "run" at Eva, hearing from Terry Lucas all about the way Gideon acted when seated between Corrine and Eva at dinner -- a disaster that ended with Eva walking out on Gideon -- and also heard from Terry how awful Eva looked at the hospital the week Gideon started dating Corrine again. The Lucases run in Monica Stanton's social circles too, so the connection was there to attempt to reach out to Eva herself. See if Eva was "depressed" and if so start unhinging Eva.

Eva needs to watch her back now that she is (Anne believes) engaged to Gideon. Because now Eva does have an Anne Lucas target painted right on her back -- as evidenced by the mind-eph that Anne pulled (Gideon f**** Deanna a lot lie -- and if Anne treated Corrine, Anne likely heard that Gideon's "ex" Eva is very jealous and insecure.)

I'm convinced early in Book Four the truth is going to come out that Gideon actually married Eva -- and thus if Anne is as evil as we suspect, evil enough to engineer Corrine's death by suicide, then she's capable of almost anything.

Everyone believed that Gideon had left Eva as soon as Corinne became available again. Heck, Eva believed it at first. So If Anne is targeting the woman in Gideon's life, it would be easy to see why see went after Corinne. And maybe Elizabeth had mentioned to Anne that Gideon had asked for her wedding ring (if that is where he got it) assuming he was going to propose to Corinne.  I know it's a reach but that is half the fun!  ;)

  7. The links are awesome Shan!

I feel like Ian and Chase don't have the build and sense of presence that Gideon would have. Idk maybe I'm biased towards Henry (hence my avatar pic lol) I'm slowly letting him go as far as playing the part as Gideon.

And I agree with you in regards to Matt.

I know, Chase is handsome but I wonder if he maybe to young as well.... I don't know, hopefully who ever they choose, he will fulfill all of our fantasies.    ;)

  8. I have had a hard time finding an actor who I'd like to play Gideon, LOL.. I have this perfect, gorgeous man with a body to die for, with beautiful black hair and the most amazing blue eyes you've ever seen, in my mind! Oh and what he does for a suit...... So I just can't think of anyone to fits the man in my mind. Henry is definitely handsome but for me he has a more boy next door good looks. And Matt is sexy and has beautiful blue eyes but he prefers men in real life, so for me that is buzzy kill. Kind of hard for me to place him as our virile Gideon, but he would be perfect to play Cary. Because Cary is really good looking too. SO I was doing some research online and have a few links for you ladies to look at and see if you see anyone who is suitable to play our Sexy as He11 Gideon Cross..... Maybe Chase Crawford, with the right hair style?  Ian Somerhadler has pretty blue eyes but I'm not sure he is sexy and good looking enough. Hopefully there is some no name gorgeous actor out there who would be perfect and just think what playing Gideon Cross would do for his career. Let me know what you all think..

  9. Yes I do think Eva truly believes she is too young to be married but she knows herself and that she is totally in love with Gideon so I think she is going to try and make everyone happy like she always does but at the same time I think she will be surprised that she will actually thrive in the marriage and come to realize that the security and the vows and of course Gideon committed to her in EVERY way is exactly what she needed in her life. I think that is what the next two books will be about the two of them finding their way as a couple GROWING TOGETHER and finally gaining that confidence of a stable, loving relationship.

I agree with you and I think she realizes there will never be anyone else for her but Gideon!

  10. I think that if Tatiana and Trey ever met then the fur would fly indeed!!  I don't think that for one moment, Tatiana would be interested in sharing Cary with ANYONE!!  She has become quite rude and is constantly testing her boundaries with Eva, Gideon and Cary.  I suspect that if anyone is looking for drama, they may get it with these two in the next book.  What do you think?

I was actually surprised at how rude and disrespectful Tatiana was. When Cary and Tatiana showed up at the apartment and Gideon and Eva were eating pizza,Tatiana saw Gideon and flashed him a come-hither smile. Then the following morning, Tatiana was walking around the apartment butt naked, I love that Eva confronts her. And I really like the part where Eva walks into the kitchen and sees Gideon leaning back into the counter, leisurely drinking his coffee. He wore a black suit and pale grey tie and look unbearably handsome. Ava asks "enjoy the show?" Ava hated that he saw another woman naked and not just any woman, but a model with the lean, willowy body type he'd been known to prefer. He lifted one shoulder in a careless shrug, "Not especially."  "You like 'em tall and skinny." Gideon set his left hand over mine. The rubies on his wedding band sparkled in the bright kitchen lights.  "Last I checked, the wife I can't resist was petite and voluptuous, Spectacularly so."  I LOVE this part, I can just picture our Sexy Gideon standing there all nonchalantly in his gorgeous suit......Yummmmy!

  11. Hi Rogue,

I'm not saying Corrine could get Gideon actually might have accomplished getting Gideon to the altar that fast (by week 12). The woman was pulling crazy desperate stuff. But I could see her trying.

Especially if Corrine's divorce back in France was on the verge of being finalized. We know from what Magdalene said about them getting divorced that the proceedings themselves were underway. I'm wondering whether Corrine was still based in France as the summer started was so she could be immediately available for court hearings and for signing necessary documents. To do whatever she could to speed things along as quickly as possible.

But if -- IF -- she was trying to play the Gideon-knocked-her-up card, she needed to move things along in New York as fast as possible too. Have him ready to elope with her the instant the ink dried on her divorce decree. With each passing week, she got closer and closer and closer to starting to "show" -- that'd be a dead giveaway she was months into a pregnancy, not weeks.

I still go back and forth on whether she knew she was in early pregnancy when she suddenly decided to call upon Gideon to get her settled in New York as fast as possible. When she made that decision, she booked her flight and called up Gideon to say essentially "I'm on my way, meet me at the airport." THAT'S when Corrine found out Gideon had just fallen for a new woman he met that very week. Eva wasn't the initial trigger for the move -- something else made Corrine throw caution to the wind and start stalking Gideon in New York itself.

If she did know she was carrying JFG's baby, I think she had no intention whatsoever of going through with the pregnancy. Bearing JFG's child would greatly lessen her desperate move to become Mrs. Gideon Cross. I think she planned to bail out of the pregnancy as soon as it served it's purpose -- thus taking medication didn't matter. She wasn't going to go through with carrying the baby anyway, so possible birth defects were a non-issue.

    Hello Ladies~

When I read that Corinne was pregnant, I then thought that was what had pushed her to return to New York, and to get Gideon back!  We know that she is still in love with Gideon through her own omission and I think she had always hoped to get him back. It sounds to me like she married JFG with the hopes that Gideon would become jealous and want her back. My guess is Corinne was waiting for Gideon to realize he was in love with her and would eventually come for her. (we all know that would never happen) When she realized she was pregnant that changed everything, first if she had a baby in France, I don't know what the legality would be of moving to the USA with the baby if she divorced JFG.  Second, she doesn't know if Gideon would want to be with her if she was pregnant with another man's baby. So I think she became desperate to get Gideon back and into bed so she could say he was the father. I would love to know if she tried to seduce him and get him into bed?  Just my thoughts....LOL

But because we know that backfired on her, he was actually relieved she broke the engagement.

  12. Dysfunctional doesn't begin to cover some of the characters in this book.

At the end of Entwined, Eva has met her now mother in law 4 times. Only once has she been nice. The garden party. Doesn't bode very well.

It brings a new meaning to the saying Mother-N-Law from He11...LOL  At least we know Gideon will not tolerate his mother treating his wife badly.

  13. Oh. Lizzy as one h e l l of a shock coming when she finds out that her daughter in law is not the manipulating conniving Corinne. What a pair of witches they are turning out to be.

I agree, it seems to me that Corrine has definitely been in touch with Elizabeth and Christopher. Probably trying to enlist their help, to encourage Gideon to take her back. It tells you how little Corrine really knows Gideon, he isn't close to his family and actually can't bare to be around them or talk with them. It really is sad how Elizabeth is treating Ava, to bad she doesn't realize that Ava is her only chance to have any relationship with her son. Maybe in time she will realize how much Ava loves and truely cares for him.

  14. I would love to know your thoughts on why Gideon needed to get married then, that weekend so badly? He tells Eva, I need the vows, the legality......I'm going crazy without them. We know they are deeply in love with each other and they agree there isn't anyone else for them but why did he want to get married so quickly? Don't get me wrong, I love that they are married and thought is was so romantic but as I re read the wedding last night, I wondered why he was so desperate...

  15. Well, I've convinced myself that Clancy definitely had something to do with the Russian Mob guy. Towards the end of Chapt.17, after Eva had her 'meet & greet' with Giroux and she's getting into the car to go to lunch with her mom, she has a short conversation with Clancy. When he asks how she is she says, "Hanging in there." He says, "You'll be all right." She felt he sounded pretty confident about that. Those words made me feel like he was telling her that he took care of things and not to worry. We'll see............

I am of course re-reading EWY again, I can't seem to get enough!  I read that part last night and thought the same thing. I felt that by Clancy saying " you'll be alright", it had a deeper meaning. I agree with you, he was saying, don't worry everything is going to work out fine!

  16. I just want to say that I think Deanna is def a stalker...maybe a 'bunny boiler' as you ladies have said. She's making me nervous. Stalking Eva at her place, all those events, corinnes , Magdalena , crosstrainer etc. how could she really be so bent out of shape w her one night w Gideon ? What dd she expect ? The ring ? Lol

Nathalia~ I agree, first Deanna is obsessed about getting dirt on Gideon. Following and interviewing anyone she knows has a history with Gideon. Then he takes her out for a glass of wine and apologizes. She then feels close enough to him to sit down in Eva's empty seat, touch him and engage in a private conversation. Eva better be very careful with this one, I see another whack job from Gideon's past haunting them, causing trouble.
