Hi ladies, can anyone tell me where the engagement announcement was discussed in the forum? I found it really strange that Eva discussed it with her mother before the charity dinner and the final statement from Monica was that Gideon has to ask Eva first.....and then at the dinner they're introducing themselves as an engaged couple, without telling Monica first it seems.....she would not be happy if she heard it through the grapevine....Did I miss something?

there was no engagement announcement by Eva or Gideon, we think this will be officially in book 4, she just hinted to her mum that Gideon would not wait until the Summer for a wedding. Hope this helps

I think that G n E had this discussion with Monica before they left for the dinner because there is no way that Eva would let Gideon announce to her bosses let alone anybody else that they were engaged without telling her parents first. There is no way that Monica missed the rock on her finger when she came out of the bedroom fully dressed for the dinner so she probably asked about and they told her. Also while they were walking the red carpet for the dinner I am pretty sure the reporters and photographers also noticed the ring and they were asked and that is when the cat was let out the bag so to speak.

Ok where to begin? I love all the theories.

It is true that Gideon misled Corrine but how misleading was he when he told her that they could only be friends? She knew this going in when he was trying to protect Eva. She was delusional that is a given. When Gideon and Eva had the conversation about her he said he had nothing else to say to her because she had tried to make Eva believe that they(Gideon and Corrine) had slept together twice.

 

I don't think that the fact that G and E are married is going to get out before second wedding. The news of the engagement is out now via the red carpet for the charity dinner.

CBY is going to start with s e x scene from Thursday night Friday morning. Gideon and Eva are going to argue about her going to SD, because G already knows that Brett is going to be there. He is going to reluctantly let her and Cay go by themselves then follow maybe on Saturday.

Eva is going to have a talk with her dad about Gideon and her "engagement" and pending wedding.

As we have seen people with money can pull a wedding together in a matter of weeks via the Kardashians, so this will not be a problem for them.

I also think that Eva told her mother that Gideon proposed before the charity dinner otherwise she would have a problem telling everybody else when her own mother did not yet know. As everybody said she was wearing her ring and I don't think Monica would have not noticed.

 

I think that the showdown with Lizzie happens after the SD trip cause Eva tells Gideon that Lizzie confronted her at the dinner.

I also think that they discover that is was Anne at the dinner and that is also another showdown in itself. If she is trying to get back at Gideon she is only hurting herself in the long run. If she doesn't already know about her brother she will learn about him in this book, because part of the showdown involves Gideon telling her why he treated her the way he did.

 

On the way to SD I think Eva confides in Cary and tells him everything cause it is killing her not to. The mountain of lies between them is going to come tumbling down so Eva will feel better about her relationship with Cary.

It's going to come out that either Tat is not pregnant or it is somebody else's baby. Trey is going to stand by his man because he loves Cary. He is trying his best to accept Cary for who he is. I don't think that Trey would stay with him if he didn't love him. He doesn't like the fact that Cary is bi but he is dealing with it.

 

I think Ireland is going to do a lot of hanging with Eva and Gideon once the Showdown with Lizzie takes place and I also think Christopher Jr. is going to be apart of the showdown but the problems between him and Gideon aren't solved until book 5.

 

I know I am all over the place but I have so many things running through my head right now I will be back later to finish my thoughts LOL

I was thinking about what you said and I was wondering if Gideon meant that text about Corinne, then where would Gideon have taken her to (or had Angus take Corinne to...)?

 

If Anne Lucas was the psychiatrist who was treating Corinne, do you think that Gideon would have found out before Corinne's suicide attempt?  Gideon had contact with Corinne on several occasions and may have even been up to her apartment (maybe...).  Do you think that Corinne would have remained tight-lipped about her seeking professional help?  What do you think?  What does everyone think?

I don't think that Corrine would be tight lipped about seeing a therapist because she is banking on Gideon feeling sorry for her and keep running every time she has some kind of crisis. Besides that in EWY when Gideon left the video launch he went over to Corrine's and that is when he was trying to explain to Corrine that maybe her medication is what is making her act so crazy and she needed to get in touch with her doctor to either correct her dosage or give her something different. So I am pretty sure that he has seen the prescription bottle.

It's the night that Gideon and Eva are at the hospital when Corrine has take her overdose.

The text to Angus say " I need her out of here"

It struck me could this mean not Eva but Corrine . Was this text before the brawl in the corridor ?

When Gideon and Giroux were taken away they were flex-cuffed and hustled toward a service elevator by the guards. I blinked when Angus appeared in the doorway, certain I was imagining him.

How could Gideon text if flex cuffed?

And for Angus to be there so quickly was it to deal with the commotion / brawl but he was too late to stop security dealing with it.

Seeing Eva there the need to get her home and safe kicked in for Angus to carry out his duty.

Did Gideon know the potential for Ann Lucas to professional see Corrine if left in that hospital ?

Anyone else got views on this or am I now just reading double meaning into everything now that I've read EWY yet again !

I think he was talking about Eva. Angus said that Gideon had texted him and I think he did this while he was talking to Corrine's parents before the fight even started. Or he might have texted while watching the doctor talk to Giroux. I also think that maybe Liz might have said something to him and he wanted her out of the line of fire. From both Liz and Corrine's parents.

Ohh I hope it's a lot of goodies! Release date, cover and snippets....or first chapter! Lol....too much to ask??

 

So, I was thinking....maybe I've mentioned this before, I'm not sure....but do we think that on the flight to Cali, Cary finally gets Eva to tell him what's been going on? They had their lil heart to heart after the fundraiser the night before...so maybe Eva will spill. The fact that she's married, what's been going on w/ Nathan. Or maybe, Cary tells Eva that he figured it out himself. He's not stupid. Maybe he's known for a while that Nathan beat him and was waiting for Eva to tell him, just like he was waiting for her to tell him about Gideon.

 

IT's a long flight! 5/6 hours...maybe they'll have a full out talk w/ Gideon too b/c I just don't see him letting Eva go to SD w/o him.

 

Basically....I'd like it if Eva just tells Cary everything! She'd feel so much better...and I don't think he'd be in danger knowing ...

I had read BTY and RIY then had to wait for EWY and that is how I discovered her Georgian books I have read everything but Pride and Pleasure and that is in next month's (Aug) book budget. Eva and Gideon are inspired by Alistair and Jessica. I Love all her books that I have not into vampires and the paranormal either so I guess I will have to start at top of book pile and start reading until CBY comes out after next month I will have enough books to keep me busy for a while and also the forum so hopefully time will pass quickly. Still hoping CBY will come out in Oct.

I can so relate to the need for a book budget!  I prefer my books in printed format, so I am starting to stack my books now.  I am beginning to worry about physical space...

 

When you get a chance, could you let me know what you thought of Shayla Black's Wicked Series.  I have now finished the series and would be interested to hear someone else's take on the books.

I also prefer my books in printed format. They are everywhere lol. So far I am liking the wicked series I have no complaints. Can't wait to get the next 3 books in the series.

The more that the few of us get "Entwined" thru the forum, facebook, and goodsread it gets me all excited about reading everything that everyone is loving and that they recommend!!  I have always loved to read but for a long while I have not done much reading until Fifty Shades and then that lead me to Crossfire and to this forum and the rest is history!!  

 

And as a added bonus I have met some really nice people that a few have become friends......!!!

I feel the same way I have all of Sylvia's historical novels except for Pride and Pleasure. I have the Crossfire novels, I have Maya Banks' Sweet series and Breathless (even though I am waiting on the third) I have started getting Shayla Black's Wicked Lover's series. I have a book allotment in my budget so I can only buy so many a month but I get done with the books in a couple of days so I have to wait the rest of the month so I can get new ones.

I think Gideon never went to therapy, because was abused by one. Or rather the trainee of a therapist/shrink. He only goes to Dr. Peterson because Eva suggested it to him. It is possible that he never spent a night with a woman before, since he used to have loose flings. But how about Corinne? They were engaged for 2 years, and it seems very odd that he did not sleep in the same bed as her during that time.

You are right about Gideon not seeing a therapist because he was abused by one, but he started seeing Dr. Peterson because he wanted to get better for Eva, he had started going because of the nightmare that he had and Eva walked out. He didn't sleep with Corinne always came up with an excuse as to why they shouldn't spend the night together.

Now need to keep my posting timing for Jean Francois Giroux now that he is down at 2.

Although I see this forum is getting more and more new members so maybe should leave them to add someone to the RIP list

Im rereading part 2, where Eva is talking to Dr Lucas and something hit me. Dr Lucas is a gynaecologist.... could he have messed something up with the blood and / or urine work of Corinne to fake a pregnancy?

Or is it to farfetched?

 Terry is a pediatrician and Anne is a psychologist. besides that she was in ER when everyone found out she was pregnant.

Well said Mam2me. Deanna was hurt by Gideon and also her own ego big time. That Gideon acted like a pig is crystal clear. But Deanna's expectations were skyhigh otherwise she wouldn't be full of hatred. Let's be honost the most admirable bachelor in town, good looking, filthy rich wants to sleep with her, so she thinks she is something special. Which later turns out she isn't, but just one of the bunch and that hurts. If you just have casual nighty night playtime  with someone you just do your thing, leave the next morning and that's it right? She prolly thought that having spend the night with him ment instant relationship and that's her own calculation fault. So instead of being hit once, she was hit twice. And a hurt woman can be very dangerous and most of the time (self)destructive.

 

On a slight different note, i was wondering about THE hotelroom. When Eva went there in book 1 and took a look in the drawers, she saw a lot of s*xtoys and spermicide ( if that is the correct word ) and in book 3 Gideon tells her, he used only toys when he went to that room with other women. Why the spermicide then?  I know it is a minor detail, but it made me wonder....

He(Gideon) said that he took women to the hotel room, but "I didn't always nail them it was an exception when I did" Hence that is when the toys come into play and if he did nail them then that is when the spermicide came into play. This is on pgs. 20-21 of paperback version.

Deanna : I think she should have known herself better ,I don't think you just pick up a guy for a one night stand and then catch feelings when he doesn't treat you the way you expect .You don't know the first thing about this guy so you can't expect anything and I don't think she should have put herself out there in this way if she knows she's sensitive.Without a doubt Gideon was horrible to her and no one should be treated in such a manner but they were both adults no promises were made and she should really move on .Why waste the time with the personal vandetta

Monica:It also puzzles me that Monica didn't know what was going on for four years .Its almost as if she wasn't intimately involved with Eva on an emotional /physical manner .The best I can think of is that she was young ,without support and found herself with a child and in her desperate scramble to build and maintain a life for herself and her child she didn't pay attention as a normal parent might have .I think she got it too late and because of that she overcompensates .

I don't know if you have read my other posts about my situation but sometimes parents don't see what is right in front of their faces because of how the child acts. Like I said before I was a naturally shy person so when I began to withdraw my mother didn't notice because it was already a part of my personality to be to myself. Yes Monica feels deep guilt for not noticing and she does over compensate. But I think she should cut herself some slack cuz when she did find out she did everything in her power to right that wrong. My mother didn't find out til ten years after the fact and my father still doesn't know and would like to keep it that way.

I think what surprises me most about Deanna's vendetta against Gideon is that we can be sure when he picked her up that this was very much a one night thing. Based on how he initially tried to pick up Eva, he does not pretend that his pick ups are anything more than a short term arrangement so I highly doubt his approach to Deanna was much different.

Don't get me wrong, the way he treated her at the end was disgusting and I can totally understand why she's upset about that, but I don't think she was going in with false expectations that this was going to turn into a relationship. And if she was that's her own fault for not listening to what Gideon was saying.

I agree that he treated her horribly, but her being a reporter and all she should have picked up on he was not that into her and she was a momentary distraction from something else. Me myself would have felt inadequate if someone answered the phone in the middle of sex. obviously he was bored or he wouldn't have answered the phone. I would have been angry and hurt but I would have gotten over it. Like he said she was overly eager and he avoids them at all cost the second time. She is using her job as a way to get back at him and in the end she will only hurt herself.

Well the way I came to read the Crossfire series is, I had read the FSOG trilogy like seven times and I was ready for something different. Was in Target and came across BTY and RIY. Almost bought RIY first but settled on BTY instead. The next day went back and got RIY cause I was done with BTY and the rest is history.

I am swept away fro the fanfiction stories of Sasha Cameron (FSOG). Someone (sorry, don´t remember the name right now) from here mentioned here. Didn´t wanted to go there, but oh my God!

 

How good is her writing and her ideas and her feeling for the Character. I am thinking all the time E.L. James is writing it herself. (Who knows maybe she is it - secretely?)

 

I can´t stay away, started to cut and paste to have my own Word-Document to print it - in the future! It is a lot of work, but I have to reread this! 

 

Therefore and because of other reasons I will be here a little bit less or I maybe not answering right away ...

 

So, now, I am looking through the last postings here and going to answer!
