 I agree with you. I thought having Monica die so close to the end was very sad and couldn't shake that feeling  and didn't understand why Monica needed a wealthy husband when he didn't even know about her sister.  Richard is like Gideon in control of everything  he would have known. No one mention Cary. Eva and Cary still stay very close. The baby isn't his and him and Trey get back together. He stops sabotaging his relationship and Trey moves in with Cary in Eva and Cary apartment. Cary also becomes the number 1 male model in the world. Â

Hi all, I know a lot of these posts are about the 3rd book but I am rereading crossfire again and I am  stumped by this quote so...  what does this quote mean. “You forget who submits, Eva,†he said gruffly. “I’ve given up control for you. I’ve bent and adjusted for you. I’ll do anything to keep you and make you happy. But I can’t be tamed or topped. Don’t mistake indulgence for weakness.  Is he saying he submits or eva. When he gave her theDom  ring he said she is the submissive, but now is he saying he submits? also is he telling eva that she's an indulgence to him,or vise versa?
