  1. The Nerd. I have a fatal weakness for nerds... in fact, I married one!
  2. I can't look much beyond the fact that I have a baby due in February. I guess my goals are to continue writing around four children (it should help that I got a laptop for Christmas!), and to get several things published this year. I want to publish at least three things under my own name, and two things under my pen name. I also intend to write another novella targeted to Brava by March or thereabouts and submit it to Kate Duffy. I expect to write nothing but novellas and shorts this year, as babies are not particularly conducive to novel writing, IMHO! In non-writing goals, I need to lose weight and get back in shape after the baby is born, so I foresee a lot of time spent on my elliptical trainer and exercise bike .
  3. That is a terrific entry, Larissa! I loved it! Can't wait to read the rest of it . Congratulations!
  4. *Snort* That's my husband, I'm sorry to say. Straight from life. I married an Eagle Scout and it still shows.
  5. Thank you for your kind comment about my writing, Sylvia. The interesting thing is that my first book, a historical, was deadly serious. I didn't learn to write humor until later. And for some reason I STILL can't write a humorous historical... to me, historicals are serious and contemporaries are humorous. I don't know why, but I just do what the voices in my head tell me to do and don't worry about it too much  ! Ellen F.
  6. *Squealing* Hurray for Sylvia!!! I just saw the new Brava finalists. Your entry is fabulous, Sylvia... I'm delighted to see a historical finalist, particularly yours!!! :D
  7. Have they been posted already? I couldn't find them...
  8. Don't let the fear of bad reviews worry you, Sylvia. In some cases they're actually helpful (a good reviewer can actually point out weaknesses in your story that you didn't see). That doesn't make them pleasant, but you do get kind of used to them eventually. I've had three reviews from Mrs. Giggles now, and I've somehow survived all of them  .
  9. I wanted to say thanks to Sasha and Sylvia for your kind comments about my entry. I often write stories about guys who are clueless in bed and women who are experienced; I'm not sure why. Maybe it's a reaction against reading about too many male ###### . Anyway, I'm glad you guys found it interesting... thank you.
