I don't think it will bring up bad memories with Eva Sharon she loved that home and I think she would love it again as long as Gideon is there with her

I meant the term engagement announcement as a title for the discussion, I know there was no official announcement. But it's still really strange that they tell Eva's bosses etc and G's mother, but not E's mother. Someone may have even come and congratulated her in the course of the evening and then she would have looked really silly.

It was Eva who told Elizabeth not Eva and Gideon announcing it afterall Elizabeth corner Eva at the function, I think there will be an official announcement.

 

I personally don't think there is any point in doing a thread for the Engagement there is not that much detail to discuss, we know it will happen but it is up to you if you want to make up a thread for that discussion.

 

We discussed it a while ago on the Entwined thread but like I said it is up to you what you want to discuss

Has Lacey actually contacted Martin yet? He said she was out of town and was meant to call that night. So does that mean that Lacey was off the radar at the same time as Megumi?? Connection??

My suspect is Will. He's the one passing all the messages around - He says Megumi's sick, and He says that Daphne said that she sounded really bad - just to keep Eva from nosing around?? He must have some sort of function - he's a bit of a strange character in the book.

If you read in the book it states that Lacey was due to call Martin later that night, there are no other mentions of Lacey contacting Martin, we think this will be in the next book.

 

We covered in length the suspicions as to who Michael is or what he has done with Megumi.  you never know about Will, it could be that but Eva has never said anything to Will about her life or past so he could not say anything also if Will was connected in anyway to Gideon or Gideon's past we felt Gideon would have noticed by now.

Hi ladies, can anyone tell me where the engagement announcement was discussed in the forum? I found it really strange that Eva discussed it with her mother before the charity dinner and the final statement from Monica was that Gideon has to ask Eva first.....and then at the dinner they're introducing themselves as an engaged couple, without telling Monica first it seems.....she would not be happy if she heard it through the grapevine....Did I miss something?

there was no engagement announcement by Eva or Gideon, we think this will be officially in book 4, she just hinted to her mum that Gideon would not wait until the Summer for a wedding. Hope this helps

I totally agree. Whilst waiting for my approval for this page I read every single post!! Even from the previous books, it was alot of reading and so much fun!

Not trying to discourage new posts in anyway but previous discussions did at very deep and we had some really good posts from certain people who are no longer about. You are actually really missing out on some good insight into the books by not going back to read over them!

I always think its good to go over old postings. We covered so much ground. Yes there are a lot, but they do make interesting reading. Plus we always added a little humour for good measure, and the odd picture of Henry.

I have referred back to them myself on occasions.

I would have to say we probably covered every avenue in those postings.

But I would suggest a cup of coffee before you start ladies.

Gideon needs the reassurance and validation that he never got from Lizzy. He needs to know that Eva loves him unconditionally, but until he trusts her completely he'll never be totally sure.

I am sorry if you don't like this but it has to be said.  If some of the new members would look back at what we have all discussed since before Entwined and after Reflected you will see that we have spent months discussing Monica, Victor, Lizard (Elizabeth vidal) Chris Jnr, Chris Snr to death and to be honest I could not go through all the posts here again as it was just repeating what we had all discussed.

 

I know you have your points to raise being new but maybe if you had read further back to what we have discussed you would see our explanations and comments   We have been on here for a while now and discussed things until we were blue in the face and I do not feel that a new thread for Mothers & Fathers was needed.

 

Sorry to be blunt and I know some of you will be P***ed off with me saying this but that is my thoughts.

I think loyalty has nothing to do with morals in this case. Eva is disappointed in her father's behavior and rightly so. His behavior was morally wrong due to the fact that Monica was a married woman and he should have set a better example for his daughter. Eva told him how she felt and this has nothing to do with loyalty. She shouldn't agree with his behavior just because he is her dad. I think that Stanton does deserve Eva's loyalty in this case because he has been good to her AND her mother. He did his best to protect Eva from her past and puts up with a lot of Monica's baggage .

Today I read an interview that Sylvia gave. She discussed her expectations regarding the production of the Crossfire series by Lionsgate and that she expected they would include all the scenes necessary to present Eva's and Gideon's stories.

Being mainly familiar with American network television, presenting a significant amount of the content of these books will be difficult. I understand cable networks are more open and Sylvia stated she expected the series would be made for cable television. She recommended watching The Tudors with Henry Cavill and Games of Thrones as examples of well done television.

In the interview, Sylvia mentioned the limo scene as being pivotal because it introduces so much about the main characters. I think the flight to the Caribbean and the scene in the Vidal library along with the shower where Gideon helps Eva work through her fears after her nightmare are also extreme important to be produced.

Sylvia has always said in every interview that the Cable series of the books will be in keeping with the books so we must go with what she is saying.

 

Those scenes will be difficult to get over and yes Cable companies are a bit more relaxed.  The Tudors was a UK Production and living in the UK I know that we have a watershed time where there are no sexual or abusive scenes allowed to be shown prior to 9pm but after that is fine, Tudors was done by a cable company and therefore the production style was a bit more relaxed and I think this is how it will be shown by Lionsgate.  As this is still ongoing I don't think there is any point to speculate what will be done or acted out until it goes into production.

 

We would all love Henry Cavill to play Gideon, we have said that since day 1 but we have to wait and see what the casting people think

Michael only wants to obtain information suitable for his interests, and as:

 

1.- The only ones who know Michael are Lacey and Megumi.

2.- Megumi is known to be a gossiper (something any PI could easily realize)

3.- Lacey could have been a good source of information about Eva and Gideon to Michael (through Megumi's gossip at home) and a very discreet one.

4.- The blind date with Lacey doesn't work. Maybe Michael persuaded Lacey to be on a blind date with her flatmate thinking on keeping the primal source (Megumi), not as discreet as Lacey, but still good.

5.- Megumi kicks off Michael and then he starts to stalk her (not good to loose the source!)

6.- Eva has never seen Michael

7.- Megumi's "illness" is something Michael's related (raped, captive,...), threatened to inform him (Eva doesn't tell Megumi with who she spent the weekend -Brett or Gideon- when she asked, so she doesn't know)

8.- There's only one person who could be really interested in what Eva does, in order to harm Gideon

 

So, my thought:

We have discussed this before after Entwined came out, but one thing you have to think about is if Michael is Chris Jr Megumi would have seen him in the Crossfire building and therefore would know he is not who he say's he is as Chris Jr came to see Gideon often.
