  1. I'm so excited that CBY is coming soon!  I can't wait until I have all five books autographed and hard-bound on my shelves.  Now that I know we've got a quick release date for Captivated, I'm really relieved that the final book will be released simultaneously or nearly so.  It seems like I've gobbled all three down within a day or two and then was left with months of waiting.  I've enjoyed this series so much.  Patience is indeed a virtue.  But it isn't one of mine.  Can. Not. Wait!

  2. Hi carol

I did suggest a while ago, that Geoffrey may have been murdered, by a disgruntled investor. But I also think that Gideon actually found his father after the shooting.

It is going to take a lot to forgive Elizabeth, as she is not on team Eva.

Not only that.  She didn't believe Gideon when he told her what happened to him and still persists in calling it lies!  She's sponging off of Gideon, and allowing her new family to do the same, while essentially calling him a liar.  I just loathe that character.

  3. No this has crossed my mind but then I discard it; I think he really is dead.

I didn't wonder if he was really dead, but I DID wonder if he'd somehow been framed for the financial mid-deeds, and if it was possible that someone else was responsible: maybe Lizzie or Chris, Sr.  I also wondered if his suicide was really a suicide, or if it were a murder faked to look like a suicide.  It could be very cathartic for Gideon if his father was exonerated.  It might change the way he feels about himself.  I admit, though, that I'm ready to suspect that awful mother of his of nearly anything.  I can't STAND that woman!

  4. I DON'T think Anne was the psychiatrist who was supervising Hugh when he was abusing Gideon in the Vidal home.  Other people have refuted this because they don't think universities would allow family members to supervise their siblings' work, and I think that's valid.  But mostly I don't believe it because of Gideon's feelings toward Anne: he feels guilty towards her.  I doubt he would harbor any regret for anything he did to the person who brought Hugh into his life.  He became involved with her because of his seething animosity toward Terry, not any bad feelings toward her.  I think he's coming to realize how unbalanced she is, though.  She's been sniffing around Eva from the very beginning.  Did anyone notice that she spoke to Eva when she & Gideon were on their first date?  Page 99, "Bared to You", check it out.

I definitely think something is up with Megumi & Martin.  Or maybe she's planning a little blackmail on her own.  She was there when Eva caught her folks together.and she's been seeing "lifesyles of the rich & famous" up close & personal while subsisting on a receptionist's wages.  I predict that she, whether in league with Martin or not, will try to extort money from Monica.  Martin could greatly benefit financially from a Richard/Monica divorce.

Sylvia has said that the last 2 1/2 books will be dealing with Gideon's issues, and how he'll need Eva to be.strong for him now.  I think the sex tape will provide a good reason for her to cease efforts at any sort of friendship with Brett, an idea that was doomed from the start anyway.  I think Gideon was successful in making sure that the photographer won't profit by doing anything with the video other than selling it to him.  If it DOES surface, I predict it'll be because of his brother and that vicious mother of theirs.

I don't see any way to repair Gideon's relationship with most of his family.  I think Lizzie will overstep herself and he'll kick them to the curb.  Either that, or he'll threaten to withdraw any further financial support and they'll fall into line, however resentfully.

I know that, given the real-time aspect of the series this is a problem.  But I don't see how Gideon can be assured of being free from punishment for Nathan's death without being arrested, tried and acquitted of it.  There is no statute of limitations on murder.

I'm hoping that whoever planted the bracelet is a friend, but I'm half-way expecting someone to try blackmailing him.

I'm hoping for a happy ending for Cary & Trey.  A lot of you are saying that Trey doesn't accept him for what he is.  But what he IS is unfaithful and commitment-phobic.  Just because he has feelings for both genders doesn't mean he can't commit to one relationship.  Cary needs to grow the frick up, and a baby would do that for him.  I could see Trey stepping up to the plate and helping Cary raise his child.  Tatiana is NOT mother material.  She's bad news.  I'd love to see Cary get her out of the picture but still being able to keep the baby somehow.  Maybe Gideon &/or Eva could buy it for him, or maybe SD could just kill her off in childbirth.  That's a little trite for Sylvia but, hey, if she dies she dies.  LOL.

I'm sorry my thoughts are so disorganized, but I'm crazy excited to read the rest of this series!  I almost wish I hadn't started reading them until all 5 novels were already published, because the anticipation drives me nuts. ;-)

  5. Hi Carolc1001,

Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy yourself.  :)

Your suggestion of putting Megumi and Martin together is intersting and I haven't thought of it before.  :)  It is true that in the past both Megumi and Lacey have dated the same man at different times, so your potential theory is plausible.

Are you suggesting that Megumi might have put two and two together (that she figured out that Monica and Victor slept together) or that Monica might have let something slip in the cab they were supposed to share when they both left?  Wow what a delcious twist to an already twisted plot!  You have bgiven me something to think about!  :)

I think Megumi would've figured out about Victor & Monica, yes.  She was there when Eva "caught" them.  Monica was flustered, wearing Eva's clothes and Eva's makeup.  And Victor was in the shower.  Women pick up on that stuff.  Plus Eva's reaction to the whole thing was a dead give-away, I think.

If Martin did get wind of it somehow, and immediately reported it to his uncle Richard, I don't think that would make him a bad guy.  He'd see it as saving his uncle from a scheming fortune-hunter, probably.  Incidentally, I like the idea of Victor and Monica getting together.  It'd be nice for her to realize that money isn't the be-all & end-all.  Especially since they've both carried a torch for each other all along.

I keep thinking that the only way for Gideon to be free of Nathan's murder is to be arrested, tried, and acquitted for it, since there's no statute of limitations on murder.  Plus it's really bothering Eva not to be able to be frank with Cary about the whole thing.  I think the truth will come out, either in the 4th book, or the 5th.  Maybe Monica & Victor could get reacquainted when supporting Eva through her ordeal?

Thank you for the welcome!  I've really been enjoying these boards for the past month or so!  You're all hilarious, with such great insights!

  6. Hello!  It took me forever to get registered, but I've been reading for awhile.  Loved the new book, but now the wait begins again.

Anybody think that maybe Megumi is with Martin Stanton?  He was casually seeing her roomie, Lacey, and they don't seem to mind dating men the other one has gone out with before.  Megumi was there when Eva found Victor and Monica together.  Monica's husband's nephew has been hanging around at Megumi's place.  Martin might greatly benefit financially if Monica and Richard split.  Or maybe she's thinking about blackmail?  It wouldn't be fun to be around all those rich people if you were a working girl.
