Hi llurvegc, I haven't decided yet when I'm going to read the book. If I can stand it I might wait until my Christmas holidays, then the wait for the final book won't seem too long and also I can savour the book with a huge pot of coffee. As much as I want to devour book 4, I also want to see how the series ends. What shall I do..what shall I do???

Hi Georgette, yes... not being able to engage in the forum would become problematic for me if I decided to put off reading the book until December. I haven't decided what I will do yet. I don't mind the odd spoiler because Sylvia has already released a few quotes and we always looked forward to that. If I did visit the site and came across a vital part of the book I could always leave the site. All I know is that I completed yet another re-read of all three crossfire books & I want both books 4 & 5 right now. I can only hope we get book 5 by spring. Maybe????

ahhh yes, the mention of the prior text gives a hint that it isn't a night terror situation. What could it be that he is ashamed of though? I'm thinking it's something to do with his anger getting the best of him, but I also think Eva is somewhat clueless as to what happened between the text messages and that moment in the apartment. Also, I think I am gonna be annoyed when he goes to San Diego behind Eva's back. Unless it has to do with keeping the sex tape from coming out, that would be a valid reason, but I would be annoyed if it was because he doubted Brett being in proximity to Eva. I agree with Sylvia on Eva needing to let Carrie know about the marriage on a trip away from NY.

 

How log do you think it will take to devour the book? I'm gonna guess two and a half hours to speed read it at midnight on my computer or iPad and then take my time the next day when I go pick up the paper back from my bookstore.  So excited! But also kind bumped there will be a long wait till the story is all tied up.

How about Brett rebounding to Ireland after Eva dumps him/convinces him she is with Gideon.  Could be on purpose or accidentally.  Remember she is a Big Fan!  She is also very mature for her age.  It could explain why he may be around in chapters 11/12.  It could be tame or not but either way Gideon would definitely lose it!!

 

Not a plot line I would prefer but it would be an interesting twist.

Hi BettyY37, this is why I love this site. Betty, that scenario didn't even occur to me in a whisper. I love all the banter that happens here. I do think that Sylvia has enough to write about with the trip to San Diego, the wedding, Corrine, Monica, & of course Gideon's demons. But you never know..I can't wait for this read!!!

I've been thinking about that snippet Sylvia posted where Gideon has bruises and he is playing angry rock music, and I'm gonna bet that whatever happened was in some small part Eva's fault. I don't mean because she cheated on him and he beat someone up though. In EWY Gideon said he wasn't previously known to have a temper when Deanna tried to make it into a headline, but Eva retorted with he wasn't known to have one until she came around. All of his actions due to anger so far in the series have had to do in some part with Eva.   Her words in the scene make me think he is ashamed of what he did as well. Less than a month till we find out what actually happened though!! 

Hi IIurvegc, I agree with your train of thought. I am re-reading the series again & have just passed the section of the book you refer to. His temper, the angry music, etc in some way must be about Eva & a man. Maybe while in San Diego more info came out about Eva & Brett's past. Gideon is just as jealous as Eva. As for the bruises, haven't figured that one out yet.

Perhaps Tatiana will gate crash and spoil Cary and Trey's night.

Hi Skydive617, please do not feel bad about posting something that has already been mentioned and please continue to post. We are discussing three books here and it's difficult for anyone to remember every detail. In fact I am re-reading the series in preparation for the 4th release in November. I am currently re-reading Reflected in You and have come across info discovered by Eva's dad (a police officer) about one of her ex's. I honestly have no memory of reading about this. Welcome to the forum & have fun. We don't always agree with each others ideas or opinions but we respect each others right to have them. Hope to see you back here again.

Hi agoodbook, I'm not sure about the theory with Daniel...maybe...I wasn't aware that they went out together (they were just introduced at the gym. My money is on Michael-he called her when he felt like it, didn't respond to messages over a full weekend & then when Megumi ignored his calls (did she actually break things off??? I don't recall)-anyway, I think he got pi*sed off & attacked her. I hope we get news of this early on in the book. Sylvia's quotes never mention Megumi.

I would like to find out who is behind the sex video other than the wannabe videographer Sam Yimara. I also want Eva to confront Brett about it and push him to the curb. If Eva wanted to be friends so bad with him, why wait all these years to do so.....this relationship (if you want to call it that) has to be OVER!!

I agree jmhope, Eva has to realize that seeing Brett is the same as Gideon seeing Corrine, they are/were just friends too (as far as Gideon was concerned anyway). Ex-lovers as friends does not work with these two.

I too would love to see more of Ireland in the next 2 books. I love how Eva brought them together through her first dinner / introductions with her father. Gideon seems to stay away from everything & everyone who still lives in or has anything to do with their family home due to the abuse. I doubt very much that Ireland has a clue about this and happy she doesn't while re-connecting with her older half-brother.

I can also see Ireland being apart of the wedding party when they have their big public bash.

Good point, well made!!! Hopefully that is true!! Now if only Corrine has flown back to France with her hubby!!

I also only see the 4 items mentioned by everyone else, (thumb, basketball, dice & game board). Didn't Gideon earn the capitol to start-up his business by counting cards (while gambling) in Vegas? And he does own a few hotels there. Mmmmm. Only 8 weeks to go & then we'll all know!!!

Wow loved the newest snippet......really curious about Gideon having more secrets?  Do you have any thoughts on what they could be?  I am thinking that Anne will be a big problem for Eva in this book especially since Anne went out of her way to speak to Eva at that last social function that Gideon and Eva attended together.  I am wondering is there was more to Gideon and Anne's relationship or is Anne the Corinne's therapist and helping to drive Corinne over the edge and of course we can't forget Deanna.....she is certainly not going away despite what Gideon may believe.

I love everything about the books but sometimes the most interesting parts are the actions of the social deviates, i.e. Anne, Deanna, Corrine & Christopher. Can't wait to see what they get up to. Of course I'm also on pins & needles to find out more about Gideon & his issues. I think there is a shocker coming!

No, he does not submit.  He may give in to Eva in other ways, but not in bed.  

 

Been reading another Kristen Ashley series--the Burg series.  Loved them.  She has great stories.  And not real short.  SEDUCED BY FIRE by Tara Sue Me who wrote the Dominant /Submissive series is good also.  CONFESSIONS AFTER DARK by Kahlen Aymes is the second book in that series.  First is ANGEL AFTER DARK.  Both are good.

 

Since 4 and 5 are not gonna be here any time soon, I need some other more recently released suggestions.  Jodi Ellen Malpasse has a new series starting in August.  She wrote THIS MAN and that trilogy is complete and the main character, Jesse, is among my top 5 favorite male characters so I am looking forward to her next series.

Hi GLH, have you read "On Dublin Street" by Samantha Young. A great story with great sex scenes & ...don't hit me... but I liked the male & female main characters more than Eva & Gideon. (they come in second). Her writing is an easy read & very witty.

Do y'all think it has to do with a woman or something with the abuse?

I'm thinking that is might be that Christopher was also abused by Anne's brother & maybe he isn't aware that Gideon was as well. In Christopher's mind he might think that if Gideon wasn't a mess over the death of his father, didn't need help from a therapist, then Anne's brother would never have been in their home & therefore Christopher would not have been abused. He blames Gideon for his abuse. That's all I can think of unless of course Sylvia has info on another subject that has not yet been revealed. We'll see.

We know why Elizabeth didn't believe Gideon is because she was told by Terrance Lucas that there were no signs of abuse. Yes, we need to know how, why and when ( his age) the abuse stopped. Anne probably knows her brother committed suicide,not the why. and also why Christopher hates Gideon so much.

I agree with all of the topics you ladies have posted, but the one thing that I hope will be revealed is why Christopher hates Gideon so much. I have an older brother & he received attention when I didn't as a child & we also fought like cats & dogs...typical sibling behavior...but today we love each other dearly. There is much more to this sibling hatred between the two brothers than we know. Maybe Sylvia will reveal that in book 4.

I really wanna see how the conversation went about San Diego! The drop off ending always makes me more eager for the next book!

Yes very true I say they go to Italy because Eva loves to eat and of course they can have sexcapades among the ruins!!

Italy would be good too. Eva would be moaning with pleasure after every delicious bite of fresh pasta & I can see Gideon taking a bottle of extra virgin olive oil, drizzling it all over her body at the hotel & slurping up every drop. Hmm, why am I hungry?

France would certainly be a nice honeymoon destination but I think the wedding will be at Christmastime so there will be snow on the grapes!!

France would be a great place for Gideva to have their honeymoon, but only at a time when Giroux & Corrine ARE NOT ANYWHERE IN THAT COUNTRY. We don't want any unexpected (or accidently on purpose)  run-ins to spoil their love & sexcapades!
