I like "Gone, Gone, Gone".  Thought of it as a love song and the words fit the love between Eva and Cary.

    Thanks!!

    PS

I posted "I'll Make Love to You" by Boyz II Men on The Lionsgate.." topic for Gideon's and Eva's wedding night.  Should i put it here too?

Oh that's a great song.Yes, yes, yes...we can fit that song in a number of places throughout the books!

  2.

    Thanks for the welcome Gigi!!

I also like "Stay" by Rihanna but I have not figured out where to use it in the storyline.  Maybe it would work when he turns away from her in the limo and then for him when she walks away once they get inside at the Advocacy Benefit.

I like a song called "The Look of Love", recently done by Dianna Krall for dancing at their wedding reception

    "The Look Of Love"

The look of love is in your eyes

A look your smile can't disguise

The look of love is saying so much more than just words could ever say

And what my heart has heard, well it takes my breath away

I can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you

    How long I have waited

Waited just to love you, now that I have found you

    You've got the

Look of love, it's on your face

A look that time can't erase

Be mine tonight, let this be just the start of so many nights like this

Let's take a lover's vow and then seal it with a kiss

I can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you

    How long I have waited

Waited just to love you, now that I have found you

    Don't ever go

    Don't ever go

    I love you so

Hi Betty, I just thought of a spot where Rihanna's "stay" could play...after the first nightmare at Eva's place where she convinced him to sleep on the floor with her...I can see that song being played throughout that scene. What do you think?

    Hi everyone

Just thought " lured bitter enemies out of the shadows." could be people who were harmed by Geoffrey Cross who  have decide Gideon"s seed money my have been their money.

Oooooooooooooo...good one Betty. That didn't even cross(ha ha) my mind.
  4. Hi Agoodbook, I agree with you regarding your thoughts about Megumi. While reading the book, I thought, ok she has a bad cold or the flu. Once the book progressed & still no sign of her & no replies to voicemail,my thoughts immediately went to Michael, the committment phobe/blind date that she was seeing. He was fine not calling her while he went about his business but when she decided to kick him to the curb & ignore his calls I think yes something happened...I think he beat her up badly. Any thoughts everyone?

  5. Hi Jeanmarie, you raise a good point. Remember when Eva ran off after finding the sex toys at the hotel. Gideon was frantic...I believe when she checked her phone while sitting in the restaurant she had 21 missed calls from Gideon. And... they hardly knew each other back then. I am thinking there are so many traumas where Gideon is concerned & now that they are married, Eva can't run off so quickly. Gideon & Eva need each other, we all know that. But I think Gideon is still fearful of losing Eva to "something" in his past. Maybe he's afraid of shutting her out (and I believe she has already addressed this with him. Whatever is in book 4...OMG I think it's really bad. This speculation is torture...we all need book 4 PRONTO!

  6. Thank you Sylvia for giving us die-hard fans your little gem of a preview. We needed this so badly (as you can see by reading these threads). Some people are nervous about the quote, but personally, I feel that it's too soon for a happy ending and have faith in you & your writing to make all of us happy by the end of book 5. You create such depth in your main charactors & we love them as if they were real people. A little drama makes the books interesting and if everyone were happy at this point we might be posting that the books were too passive or lacked life. I look forward to the upcoming troubles of Gideon & Eva...they love each other too much to give up on one another and there is no one else out there for either of them. I hope the publishers are in printing mode soon...I neeeeed book 4. Thank you for writing a great series.

  7. I like Monica (sometimes), but I do think she is stronger than she lets on. Her need for money I believe Sylvia will reveal later in book 4 or 5. She cries whenever there is any kind of confrontation, & the tears are her manipulative way of getting out of such situations. Eva will put touchy issues aside for a later date & Stanton coddles her like a child & I'm sure this is what she is hoping for. She is already seeing a shrink but are they working on this particular issue???

Do I think Monica is pregnant? No. Aren't the next 2 books more about Gideon??? So,no time for that. I'm hoping more info comes to light regarding Gideon, his mother & Christopher Jr. (and also more of Ireland & her responses to these issues)...does she even have a clue???

And here's a topic I don't think we've mentioned...what if Stanton finds out (somehow) that Monica slept with Victor!!! What does everyone think?

  8. If everyone can look back to the beginning of book 3 when Gideon & Eva were lying in bed one morning discussing the one-night stand (so to speak) with Deanna. Gideon said, that at a function, Anne Lucas was making him feel uncomfortable & so he latched on to Deanna to rid himself of Anne. Deanna is a reporter. My guess is that she has had her eye on Gideon for quite a while. When Gideon treated her like crap, this cut her deeply. Also, at some point in the same book, Gideon said that Deanna is at many of the same functions & could possibly see how hooked he was on Eva. She was probably ticked that he had never taken such an interest in her or looked at her (Deanna) with any love in his eyes, as he obviously does with Eva.. Not everyone is sane when it comes to life's experiences or disappointments. I once worked with a woman who got upset when her ex-boyfriend didn't send her flowers on Valentine's Day. The ex was seeing someone else. I asked why she expected flowers from an ex & she replied..because we are still friends. (She was still hung up on him but he had moved on. She just didn't get it!..again, not everyone is sane.

  9. You know what they say about a woman scorned...I'm thinking that Deanna's hatred for the happiness of Gideon & Eva stems from the hurt of course from the one-night stand gone bad, but also, imagine being hurt by someone you really had the hots for. Don't they also say (whomever "they" are) that there is a very fine line between love & hate. Just thinking out loud here.

  10. Hi GiGi, you may have sonething there. Gideon is very shrewd & may try sonething to make Deanna make her own bed, so to speak. Personally, If I were treated like Gideon treated Deanna during that one & only sexual encounter, I'm not convinced that $$$

and the rights to exclusive wedding pics would satisffy me. She must have a deep rooted dislike for Eva for snagging the big prize which is Gideon.

  11. sscrph, I agree with you. At the end of book 3 EWY, Eva was making her way back to her table at the fundraiser & flipped when she saw Deanna sitting next to Gideon with her hand on his forearm. If invited to the wedding, Deanna would try, at some point to spend time with Gideon, even if only to discuss the sex video & its destruction. (and I don't think Gideon would appreciate Brett at the wedding either...not that he would be invited, but  he is a former sex partner of Eva's & Gideon would flip over this as well.

  12. Hi Avid_ reader, I think an evening candle light wedding would be nice, although a daytime wedding would give Sylvia a chance to stretch out their beautiful day. What can I say...I'm torn.

Also, I think I was misunderstood re: the cathedral setting that I described in the first wedding post. I wasn't trying to include religion in their wedding or this book. (I am not religious at all). I know NYC  has some old & huge cathedral churches & I just thought it would make a lovely setting for a wedding ceremony.

  13. I am going through major Crossfire withdrawl so here are my hopes/predictions for the book 4 NYC

wedding. (It might have to wait until book 5 because trouble seems to find this couple everywhere).

First, Monica will have to plan fast!!! With her unlimited budget (I doubt she ever uses that word) and Gideon's lack of patience for all to realize that Eva is his, Monica must make this happen quickly.

I would hope to see the actual wedding ceremony take place in a huge cathedral with vast ceilings and ornate architecture. Since neither parties are religious (and that's fine), it would be a simple ceremony without any sort of mass. I can see Gideon standing at the top of the long aisle with best man (either Arnoldo or Angus) as Eva walks towards him arm & arm with her father Victor. The reality of what is happening in front of all their friends & relatives will stun & delight Gideon & I'm sure his eyes will become a little glossy as he sees the beauty of Eva. I hope on this day Eva wears water-proof mascara (a must have tip from Monica & Cary-i'm sure)-she will most likely shed a few tears as she stares at the lovely Gideon specimen she is about to marry for the second time.

After the marriage ceremony they will stand outside at the top of the steps of the cathedral where an army of photographers will be snapping away for that perfect shot. Deanna the reporter will be standing, watching from across the street as she was not invited to the wedding. (Gideon has promised her exclusive photos to keep her mouth shut re; the Eva sex tape) As the guests make their way out of the cathedral to congratulate Gideon & Eva, Monica will be crying & Stanton will be at her side, Ireland will be thrilled, Chris & Elizabeth Vidal will be happy but Elizabeth will still be a little frosty towards Eva (if the wedding occurs in book 4 -the issues between Gideon & his mother will still need to be addressed), Christopher Jr will have a nasty snarl on his face from afar but will congratulate Eva & Gideon.

I can see Gideon in a traditional tux with tails (he's so tall) & Eva in a lovely Vera Wang wedding dress chosen together by Monica, Cary & herself. Cary will be her man of honor. Ushers & bridesmaids: Arnoldo (if not the best man, maybe Christopher jr. -just to keep family in the mix, and Megumi & Ireland.

The reception will be held again at a huge venue only the very rich can afford (and that's not me)

with high ceilings & huge floorplan to accomodate the many guests, flowers and a spacious dance floor.

For Gideon-Eva's first dance, I might consider the song "I need you" by Leann Rhimes. Nothing comes to mind yet for the father-daughter dance.

Other guests: Cary came with Trey, (in my mind Tatiana is not pregnant & totally out of the picture) Eva's boss Mark & his guy Steven, Shawna & her chef-boyfriend, of course Elizabeth & Chris Sr., Richard Stanton (Monica's hubby), the Exec's from Eva's workplace & some from Gideon's (never mentioned in the book but as in any large business-they are there, Gideon's assistant Scott (I really like him), Stanton's nephew-Martin & Lacey (Megumi's roomate), Clancy & his wife, Raul, (the other driver & part of security team for Gideon, Magalene & her new guy Gage, Will (Eva's co-worker & sometimes lunch-mate) & girlfriend... did I leave out anyone??? ...and of course that trouble-maker Corinne & hubby Giroux will have packed themselves up & are now living in France with no plans to return. Brett Kline...on tour somewhere but not NYC .

Honeymoon...where should they go??? They both seem to have a love of beaches...but where to?

    ...only Sylvia knows.

(I think I got that out of my system...any thoughts anyone?

  14. Hi everyone, I was finally approved to be apart of the Sylvia Day fan community & I couldn't be happier! I have been reading everyone's posts & love what I've seen so far. Plus, it's great to hear people's views on the Crossfire series and all of you are just as passionate about the books as I am.

Can't wait for book 4 & I look forward to hearing from you.
