is the Hacker Series really good. ?Want to make sure before I spend $35.95 for the kindle bundle

Yes, I think some parts are intense with drama some I cry, chuckle and gasp. I'm finishing book 3 now and will start book 4 right after. Eve says it has a HEA. My heart goes out to Erica and Blake. Let me know what you decide I looked up her website before I purchased them

Yes, of course I read it, and there was the a Happily Ever After (but I must tell you that Haker Series is BDSM - not quite my thing, but I like it - because it is written so good and the story is interesting).

I finished the first book and love the story line so far. Thank you for mentioning this series. Sometimes you just have to overlook certain things in stories and concentrate on the storyline.

D500 - I do agree with you ;) Gideon did have penetrative sex only in f..p.d - but we know that, don't we? :)) I was invested in this series too. There was magic in it - the unhealthy, unreal, but very strong attraction between Eva and Gideon (like addiction), his possessiveness, protectiveness and need for control (all what was in book 1-3, and still in 4th) is this what we really loved. We as readers loved that Gideon have been in love with Eva through his whole life... because all above made this love story special and unique. We loved the idea that he changed for Eva.

That's all what is the most disappointing in OWY.

Now: the Crossfire Series is romance like many others or worse ( I dare say that the Haker Series by Meredith Wild is much better).

Eve, did you read the Hacker Series if so did you like it and because I need to know if you did was the a HEA?

  4. Ok so this may sound crazy and I know Sylvia probably left it out on purpose bc of the photo but I want to know what Gideon did on Saturday night when he said it was enjoyable enough with a blur of alcohol and music was he dancing or just sitting back and watching while drinking, and what did Eva do on Saturday night all it said was she was hungover and Shawna was hoarse from laughing was Eva out dancing like when she was back in EWY that girls night out when everyone thought she was dancing, she said she was dancing like a bad girl.

I've never been to a private vip area (like Gideon said) or even a private vip booth (like Eva said) so I can only go off of my imagination giving the details they stated.

I do the same thing patricia-ann and I have read all those as well . I am actually thinking of rereading Crossfire for the 20th time starting with BTY. When I get to OWY  I will just stop right before their night out to the charity Gala. Even though I hated the racy photo of Gideon I loved when he appeared on the NY talk show. The whole series was such a great read  it is hard to let go. I too think the Ireland spin off will be a long  time  coming. The new excerpt makes me think that Lily  ran away from Kane just like Eva wanted  to run because she didn't want to lose herself in Gideon...oh well only  time will tell.

I start with one of those series and keep rotating even the side story in the Beautiful Series. I've also read the After Series and the final one called Before. I love the Maddox brothers haha I am hoping that Grey Darker will come out hopefully on Christian's birthday in June or Ana's birthday in September or Darker in June and Freed in September would be great. Did you read that fan fiction of FSOG and Crossfire combined that I can say I did not like it at all but that's my opinion.

  6. A lot of book choices have been given and I appreciate them all I will be checking into them.  I think a series about Ireland will be a long way down the road. I would like to know when the TV series would be out but I think that will take a long time also. I am just a very impatient person and would like it all now hahaha.

I truly enjoy these chats and comments with everyone, thank you for sharing.

I have probably reread FSOG, The Fixed Trilogy, Hudson, The Beautiful Series and of course the Crossfire Series 6-8 times, I know I'm crazy but when I find a story I love I like to reread them. LOL

Just remembered she also said that of course Gideon would appear in the new novels as they are about Manhatten and Gideon owns half of Manhatten!!!!!

I'm impressed with the interview you were at she was able to say more there than she was when I saw her because I saw her the day before OWY came out. I've read it 3 times so far and am on the second half of the audio version. After so many times I was able to pick up on a couple of closures like with Magdelene how she was looking better and was with her boyfriend Gage which it said you could tell he was in love with her.  I'm still devastated that the series is over.  But time heals all wounds haha at least that's what I'm telling myself.

    Dear Patricia- Ann, dear all,

I am absent because of rereading Crossfire from the beginning! Now I am on book 3 but I am loosing interest and will soon switch to the last book of  a YA series, which will be released next week.  I must say for me - from the writing  style alone and the witty banter from Eva and Gideon - book one is for me far the best in this series. But I might be alone with this opinion.

I do think I am not gonna comment here in the very future  very much! I am afraid but in the moment I don´t have to attribute something new to the overall discussion. Some day I will again reread this series and maybe then we do have hopefully the Ireland book out. Would be interesting to know if this will be a standalone or a series?

    Dear Patrica-Ann,

a great series I read already several times is the Pearl Series from Adrianne Richmonde! It is about a 40 beautiful year woman, divorced and a trauma in her past,   named Pearl, falls  in love with a dominant billionaire, named Alexandre Chevalier,  around the end of twenty and the series is complete. But the author has rereleased this series with having both POV alternating in it and a new title.

But my suggestion and recommendation  is reading the orginal series! It is heart-wrenching, great erotic scenes and great side characters, plays also in N.Y. and in France! The first books are from POV Pearl and then the author decided to add the POV of the male character as a fourth book. And even a fifth book which goes further as book three of this series. This series is at the end and is written in a great style and happy endings. And I do like the mix: younger man - older woman. And the author told already that someday we will have a book from one of the female side characters.

    Here are the titles:

Book one: Forty Shades of Pearl

    Book two: Shadows of Pearl

    Book tree: Shimmers of Pearl

Book four: Pearl (Pov male protagonist, covers book 1 to 3 and a little further)

Book five: Belle Pearl (POV male with more story after the happy ending with an even neu happy ending)

I don´t know if this series is avaible on other plattforms than Amazon! As far as I do know she is an independant author and releases everything herself!!! And I always like to support indie authors.

The author Arianne Richmonde decided to rerelease the book with male and female POV together and the first book is named: Hooked up book 1 etc.!  Well, I have this version - was for free - on my kindle shelf but haven´t read it. The original series has everything you could ask for. Just try it! For me is could easily compete with the Crossfire Series! The author is French and the male protagonist is French and both main protagonist have a very tramatic past but different than Eva&Gideon.

But you have to decide yourself!

    Greetings,

    sme

P.S. I am starting to feeling better! I am on my way up! ;) Have to be patient but I will get there! Thanks for asking!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better and on your way up. Thank you for the info I will check her out, I'm off from work this week and am looking to continue to read.

Take care of yourself and I hope to chat with you in the future. ????

I enjoyed the Georgian Series. I mentioned Rachel Grant and Toni Anderson in another post. The Calendar Girl series.  Really anything that Sylvia Day writes.

    I miss Gideva too

I read the Calendar Girl series and loved it. Is the Georgian Series complete? What did you think about Afterburn and Aftershock? I don't know the other two authors.

  10. I am having a hard time letting this series go, I need to find something to read now that will make me very  very happy at the end, I am looking for a series that is completed. Anyone have any ideas. I will reread Crossfire probably many many times again. I have read OWY 3 times and I do see closure on a couple of things I think I am just sad that it's over.

sme I hope you are feeling better, I haven't spoken to you in about a week.

D500, jmhope, sscrph and Nathalia I hope all of you are well also. Let me know what series you suggest I would appreciate it.

  11. Did anybody see Sylvia Day News, Sylvia Day releases last Crossfire novel. Can fans move on? I would like to know what everyone thinks.

I loved the Crossfire Series and FSOG because of the story lines, I work in Special Education (grades K-2) and see the results of what abuse can do to children, so to see (even in fictional stories) that some people can and do survive it makes me feel good.  I feel that that is why I love the story lines in Crossfire and FSOG.

I may be confusing this with another fan fiction about Gideon and Christian - they had the two of them having a one off 'relationship' - n0t my thing and I didn't continue reading after that.

Totally agree that's why I stopped at chapter 8 I thought the last chapter would make it like it was and it didn't so I won't be reading that again.

  13. 13 minutes ago, D500 said:

I can understand fans wanting to write what they think might happen with book characters, but not in this way, bringing two sets of characters into one story, and the bit they wrote about Christian and Gideon together was not necessary.

That said I follow some role playing people on Twitter, there are several Gideon Cross/Eva/Christian/Ana etc.  I've two Gideons, one Ana and Hudson Chase (Ann Marie Walker's Chasing Fire series).  The two Gideons use David Gandy for their avatar and for photos they post, and Ann Marie based Hudson on David Gandy - the Hudson and one of the Gideons chat a lot and pretend to have meet ups and talk about being 'twin trouble' a lot, quite amusing.  One of the Gideon's is particularly good, I believe it is a male behind the character and he is reading One With You so he is up to speed with the character.  I think I prefer the role players to the fan fiction.

I agree with you I read up to Chapter 8 and then went to the end where Gideon's mother wanted him to have Taylor and Sawyer killed I mean really that is just not nice right I don't know what happened in between so I don't know how you mean Gideon and Christian were together.

sme I hope you are feeling better as the days go by.

it's fan's that take the story and make it there own. Sometimes change it up completely. Fifty Shades was originally a fan fiction of  Twilight(I never read those books). Some are good, some not so good.

Thank you for clarifying for me I appreciate it. I might look into what you posted.

In response to a Facebook question as to whether we would hear more about Gideon and Eva Sylvia said

    YES

which of course was inevitable if there is to be a book about Ireland (or is it that Ireland is in the Blacklist stories?)  As So Close had a snippet in One With You I did suspect there might be more about known characters, even if just mentions that answer questions.

As to reviews, I have no problem with anyone who wrote, as we have on here, that some story lines are not tied up, but some people on various sites really don't know how to phrase things politely and some are almost nasty in their comments.  Haven't they worked out by now that Sylvia writes everything with a reason, she drew Gideon and Eva's initial storyline to a close with them being well and truly together which was the purpose of the Crossfire series.  We've long known characters get mentioned in other books so I think our closure on other side stories from Crossfire will be explained over time.

I'm struggling getting time to read at the moment as a couple of friends have turned up out of the blue and we are out and about so I'm not getting much time to myself (thank heavens they didn't turn up last Monday!) so I'm having a great time shopping, eating and drinking but not able to give my books the quality time they deserve.

sme - get better soon, glad the illness has given you some time to read but it's much nicer reading when we are 100%.

First I want to congratulate you on spending time with friends, second for voicing my opinion as to reviews I have been trying to think of how I wanted to say things. Third I think I missed something, where in One With You did they mention So Close. I am rereading now and am on Chapter 6 (trying to read slowly to process) As I do not have Facebook I did not see that Sylvia said we would hear more about Gideon and Eva do you know if it is on Twitter?

In reading this series some of my emotional moments:.

In BTY that limo drive to NC

RIY practically the entire book. I was so upset that Gideon was acting and treating Eva that way

My favorite book was EWY. It was a happy setting.  They got back together, married, etc.

I know they are fictional characters but they have been in my dull life for four years.  I'll really miss the Crossfire Series.

Thanks Sylvia for bringing excitement to my life

You have stated my exact feelings on all of the above, that is why I will continue to reread them over and over again, I felt like I was with them through their journey and am so upset now that it is finished, however I got the HEA like I wanted.

  17. Dear sme, I am hoping that you will recover quickly.  Sorry to hear you had an accident. I have read all of your posts, I have read books 1-4 several times over the past year and am currently reading OWY for the second time. book 2 RIY always always has me so anxious even though I know what happens. I to would have loved the epilogue to be from a couple of years later and a little longer I am reading slowly and going back over things to make sure I don't miss anything. I like your insights into OWY so while I'm reading I will think about what you wrote.

I had forgotten that EL James said she would write after the production of both movies. People may not agree with me but I really loved that story line also that's why I was hoping for a June release of his POV especially since Crossfire is finished :(.

Feel better and it was interesting reading what you have written so far.

Since the first book, all we wanted was for Gideon and Eva to be happy in the end.  Cary too.  But I never thought about getting so emotional about the others in their lives.  Talk about a roller coaster!  I'm going back to read and slower.  I notice that every single sentence is important to the story.  Sylvia is the best.   I know that this is the end of the series (emotional about), but since their story for us is their beginnings together, another book could happen down the road when they start a family.  IDK.  Don't think I could stand if anything but good happens to them.

I totally agree with, I am heart broken that it has ended. I am and will continue to always read the Crossfire Series. I am rereading OWY again now.

Afterburn and Aftershock I enjoyed reading.  Glad that I got them both together.  I felt that the ending of Aftershock was rather rushed, but overall a good read.  Jax and Gia made a cute couple.  Grey is Christian's POV and has been out since June  (his birthday) are you thinking that his POV will be coming out for the rest of the series? That would be nice too

Outlander is produced on STARZ and they are doing a great job.  Season two starts 4/9/16 based on Diana's second book Dragonfly in Amber can't wait.  There are 8 books so far in this series and #9 will be coming out hopefully next year.  DG has stated that it takes roughly 2-3 years for her to write one of her books (after all they are over a 1,000 pages!)

I've read Grey and I have read that there are suppose to be the two others from his POV I'm thinking the second will be out this June on his birthday again. Maybe I'll look into Afterburn and Aftershock.

I think I'm just devastated that OWY is over and that is why I can't explain how I feel. I am really wrapped up in Gideon and Eva's lives (I know it's fictional) they have gotten me thru some depressing times.
