  1. I really like your theory (guess) it makes sense that that would be how Nathan's bracelet was found on the dead guy. I think Gideon was smart enough to go through the back door/staff entrance, he always made sure all of the tracks were covered.

According to Sylvia (and I think she said this when she announced there would be 5 books) the first 2.5 books are about Eva, the remaining 2.5 about Gideon.  Eva was already on the way to recovery from her abuse and Gideon has only just started learning to accept what happened to him and the effect it has had on his life.

Captivated By You began resolving things that affected Gideon.  It closed the Nathan scenario with the explanation that Clancy planted the bracelet. I think it closed the Brett scenario - in Reflected Eva mentions something about Brett's voice being an attraction (can't remember the wording), during the karaoke scene in Captivated when Gideon sings discovering he too has a voice I believe finalises her feelings for Gideon as being the complete package.  However it also opened up new problems such as Corinne's book, why did Gideon's mother not tell his step-father about the abuse accusation, and Anne Lucas threats.

Gideon has now begun to open up to Dr Peterson.  The only thing Gideon cannot open up about to anyone other than Eva is killing Nathan (not sure if he's going to tell Eva about his sexual history but I'd imagine he will tell Dr P).

Thank you for your thoughts. I do wonder how Clancy found out (was he following Gideon).  I hope he does tell Dr. Peterson about is sexual history so he can finally be at peace. We will know the answers to everything else when we read OWY.

not enough Gideon in that one :)  As this book is to be mostly about Gideon hope we get a lot more of his POV.

I agree, so I wonder if Chapter Two will be from Excerpt 2 the one from Gideon's POV (posted 6/15/2015).  What do you think? Why do you think that this book is to be mostly about Gideon, did I miss something that was previously mentioned?

  4. I saw those tweets also and am in full agreement that Cary should have told Eva especially since they are BFF's how good of a BFF is he? Not a very good one in my opinion.  I don't think Anne knew of the abuse and I don't think Gideon would tell her, unless maybe Eva tells her when she confronts her hmmm what do you think? Eva is already "preparing" to confront Corrine in Chapter One of OWY I think that is the beginning of Eva helping Gideon with his past.

Sylvia will be on her cruise and if I remember correctly she returns on the 15th, but I think we will see something on the 14th only because it's Valentine's Day so I'm hoping for a little treat (my fingers are crossed).

I disagree with you on this.  Christian did love Ana, he just hasn't had proper relationships in the past to show it properly.( I know these are fictional characters).  Ana did stand up to him, when he came home drunk after finding out she was pregnant and her  seeing that text from Elena.  She said she was moving into her "Old" room and was raising this baby whether he was happy about it or not.

I remembered another scene.  The one in CBY in the elevator at their penthouse.  He tied her to the railings and made her drink alcohol.  He needed to "loose" control and didn't really want to take it out on Eva.  Guess this must come from the abuse he suffered from Hugh.

I also agree with you about Christian and Ana I found it to be a beautiful love story my heart went out to Christian because of his past abuse and not knowing how to have a real (fictional characters) relationship.  In CBY I agree he didn't want to hurt her that's why he wanted her gone from the penthouse and because of her love for him she wouldn't leave him in that state but he I think gave her the alcohol because if I remember correctly he needed her to calm down.

I think there is a little BDSM, (no hitting), but  he wants her to submit and when he grabs her wrists and she "calms" down.  Also on the plane ride (before they got married) he had red restraints, but i think they weren't "tied" to anything, just were on her wrists, he wanted her frame of mind to be restrained?  (if that makes sense).  Yes, I agree I enjoyed Gideon and Eva's relationship much better than Christian and Ana's (they were really BDSM)

On the plane ride he told her being bound helps you surrender, but it doesn't have to be literal. It just has to be enough to get you in the right head space. They were on her wrists not tied to anything and he had her reach and grab the sides of the pillow and had her close her eyes he didn't cover them with anything like in FSOG. I think what you said does makes sense.

  7. I thought Gideon was talking about himself also, not about women using him but about his abuse. Especially because of Eva's thoughts about "he spoke as if from experience. What exactly had been done to him." I could be wrong though.

I remembered reading a chapter a day before the release of Captivated By You and thought it a good idea to do the same for One With You.  It gives me the target of having finished reading just in time for the new book as well as continuing with my tbr list.  But also I find I concentrate a little more on what is happening in the chapter I am reading - I've certainly read Bared to You at least three times, possibly four, and am still finding bits that I don't recall reading before (obviously I have but the phrases have not stuck in my mind).

What would be good in the future is, if we feel we have unanswered questions, we were able to pose these to Sylvia and maybe she would give some outtakes or short scenes on her website to answer them?

I guess though that she is going to be busy catching up on her other series and new novels, the Blacklist books are the ones I will wait for, I'm not much into historical or paranormal fiction.

I will be rereading all of them again before OWY is released, I actually finished BTY today.  However when I read RIY my emotions are all over the place and I get very anxious even though I know what happens because I have read them all at least 4-5 times already.  I don't know the anything about the Blacklist books maybe I'll research them.  I believe in OWY Corrine will be the first stressor that will be dealt with then I hope it is the abuse that we finally get answers to.

  9. I agree I don't think it can be a short paragraph or chapter about their childhood.  D500 you have a lot of control to read one chapter a day I certainly can not do that haha I have to read until I can't see anymore. I just reread the chapter when Gideon arrives at his club to see Eva in BTY because of the tweet about the stoli and cranberry.

  10. I believe both Gideon and Christopher were abused, and if I remember correctly Gideon had mentioned that Christopher use to act out (while Elizabeth was pregnant with Ireland) because Gideon was getting all of the attention which was due to his father's suicide. It mentioned briefly that Hugh had pictures of long haired brunette women in magazines that he had Gideon look at during the abuse, I think this is why Gideon had relationships with women who look like Corrine except for Anne of course.

We don't know what interest Chris took in Gideon as a child - is it possible that until Gideon was a successful adult and able to save Vidal Records, Chris took little notice of him (I think I am wrong because so far Chris has always been portrayed as a nice guy but from what was written about how Gideon was after his father died he may not have been very likeable.)

We also don't know  if the abuse stopped after Gideon told his mum and went through the investigation.  As the outcome was that everyone decided he had not been abused, is it possible they allowed Hugh to continue visiting?

I'd agree that Chris being a busy man may not have been much involved in what occurred at home during the day time.  However Gideon is convinced that Chris knew - he told Eva "They discussed it at the dinner table one night, something I don't want to do."  When Eva explains that Chris seemed genuinely confused and horrified to learn of the abuse Gideon says "Then he's as conveniently obtuse as my mother.  you shouldn't be surprised."

One would think a mention of abuse of that kind, whether true or false an accusation, would register in a parent's mind and not be forgotten.

What about the part where Chris went to Gideon's penthouse and apologized for not knowing about the abuse and that he would have done something about it back when it happened? He did say that he went to Dr. Lucas' office and decked him knocking him out cold.  After reading it again I don't think Chris knew unless he's a good actor.

Eva wanted to keep his ring in a safe place and with easy access.  Mostly I thought it was just her engagement ring because Sylvia hasn't given us a description of her wedding band.  Sylvia is good at giving us descriptions like with the ring Gideon gave her in BTY, also the rings that Eva has bought for Gideon!.

Hopefully we will be getting another installment for chapter one soon!

You are correct again thank you.  I hope so too, but I'm thinking it will be Valentine's Day.

I got the impression that by "rings" it was her engagement ring and the ring that she bought him

I reread the the chapter for the wedding and you are right it was just her engagement ring. I just thought it was strange for her to purchase his ring and put it in the zippered portion of her purse haha.

I didn't think of that only because she said she unzipped the pocket inside her purse (where she had put her rings when she got to work so no one would see them) and since she just bought it I didn't think she would put it in the inside pocket, but you could be right.

People must not have read Sylvia Day's  Crossfire series.  because under her latest tweet with the scavenger hunt showing the all night coffee place at the end of CBY, someone wrote/tweeted....I am intrigued to know the significance of the rings on the cover.  If they had read the books, they would have known that the ruby and diamond ring was Gideon's wedding ring, and I believe the all diamond one will be Eva's;  Eva technically hasn't received a wedding ring other than the engagement ring she got.  (I could be wrong, but the only rings they have discussed is the one with the X's she got in BTY and her engagement ring).  Go figure.  Can't wait for April or the next installment of chapter one!!

I think Eva's engagement ring is a set because in EWY after she shopped for Gideon's ring (the one with the rubies) and she went to his office to give it to him she stopped outside his office and she said she unzipped the small pocket and drew out the "rings" inside it. I could be wrong but that's how I'm thinking of it.

I agree with you, Patricia-Ann, on this theory.  Gideon just wants Eva to be happy and not stressed out with what Monica wants.  He could probably care less, he has had the wedding he wanted:  On a beach with just the two of them and of course Angus.

And what a beautiful wedding it was!! Perfect for them!!

I don't remember who it was who suggested this but I agree that Ireland's mysterious boyfriend is the son of Ryan Landon, Gideon's business competitor.  Landon's father's name was Eric and Ireland referred to her boyfriend as Rick.  Rick can be a nickname for Eric as well as Richard.  Hope the kid really cares for her and isn't using her to get to Gideon.

I agree plus they never said his last name.  I wonder as well about Monica's secrets and Nathan's background. There are a few unanswered problems, I can't wait until April. I'll be rereading all of them again so when OWY comes out I can flow right into it.

  18. jmhope: Thank you for starting a new topic.  I enjoy reading these. I Think it will be Cary as the man-of-honor and Ireland, I think Megumi and Shawna will not be in the wedding party but will be attending the wedding and reception.  As for Gideon's best man I really think it will be Angus (even though he stood up for him already) and and the groomsman Arash.  Arnoldo does not like Eva but I think will attend both the wedding and reception as well as Manual.  I hope if Christopher and Elizabeth go to the wedding neither one of them cause a scene. Eva would kick them out haha.  It is way too soon for them to have children, maybe in the Epilogue she could become pregnant and have children.  I can not wait for more from Chapter One. Hurry up April!!

  19. Does any one remember when Sylvia said that Eva and Gideon were "born".  Thought I remember reading somewhere that Gideon was a Virgo which is 8-23 through 9-22 (hopefully there will be a little party for Gideon in OWY) and that Eva was an Aries which is 3-21 through 4-19.  If so, maybe the release date of  April 5 is Eva's "birthdate"...Just thinking, just like the release of Grey was 6-18 Christian's b'day. (I know different author)

So far enjoying the 12 days of GidEva !!!

I'm sorry I don't remember. If I do find it I'll let you know.
