  1. Whoo Hoo! Ok, I'm not sure what the web ring forum is..but it sounds like fun! Sasha
  2. It's weird. Of course I enter contests to catch an editors eye. What's silly is that I think I equally want to enter them because I'm competitive and I want to beat others. So far the others have nothing to worry about. Sasha
  3. It's not that I'm blocked..I think I'm just being Lazy. I was just wandering if I'm the only one that gets this way. Sasha
  4. I often find that most real erotica, not just stroke material, is full of emotions and various relationships, with one of them often leading to romance. Ok, maybe not a traditional romance, but still a romance. Hey! Maybe I don;t have a hard time writing romance...maybe it's just traditional romance I have trouble with!! Sasha
  5. I'm struggling with my current WIP. Not because I don't like the characters or because I keep getting ideas for other stories. But becasue I'm having a hard time making myself sit still and write. I thought I'd see if others feel this way at times. And if you do. . . how do you make yourself write, when you're really not in the mood to write? Sasha
  6. You ladies are making me think hard. Simply because I find writing erotica an easier fit for my voice and style, but I really want to write romance. I tend to struggle with the dates and the narrative more than I do the love scenes, whether I'm using graphic language or not. I admit to hoping that I can find a place with Brava because I WANT to fit there, even though I'm not sure I actually do. Sasha
  7. So...are you suggesting I enter another contest? :? You realize if you say yes, that you might get stuck editing my entry? Sasha
  8. Hi Ellen, Stick around , hang up some photos..did you check out the photo Albums? Sasha
  9. OMG!! The fun I could have if I could read minds!! (I'm also a waitress/bartender) It sounds great. Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to check it out! Sasha :flower:
  10. That's your idea of help! Isn't the GH full manuscripts only? I haven't got a full one...only short stories and novellas. lol I'm safe! Sasha :flower:
  11. I'm not sure about everyones reasons for reading "Steamy stuff" but for me. I like it, when it's done well. I thinkit appeasl so much, not just because of the obvious reasons, (who doesn't like to read a hot sex scene?) people are interested in seeing the limits of all angles of fiction explored and pushed. From sexy and steamy to alien invasions and new world fantasies. Strangely, I sometimes find Romantica to not be very stimulating, emotionally or intellectually. I sometimes prefer straight Erotica, or straight Romance. However, when/if the romantica is done well...it's great! I've seen some of both with Brava, and many other imprints, in the contemporaries. (I don't read many historicals) I guess it's all a matter of personal taste. :? Sasha
  12. HELP!! I'm getting the urge to enter a contest! Remind me that I don't think they're valuable!!
  13. I've never heard of Sookie Stackhose either...but it sounds good. Tell us more. I've read a few authors that tend to ruin me for a while. I reread Janet Evanovich's Stephanie PLum series often, they always cheers me up and motivate me. I also love to reread Susan Elizabeth Phillips books. (Faves are It Had To Be You, Fancy Pants and Lady Be Good.) For oyu fans of Buffy and Angel be sure to check out Kim Harrison's new book Dead Witch Walking. It was fantastic, and the start of a new series. You can read an excerpt at http://www.kimharrison.net Cheers, Sasha
  14. Whoo Hooo! Hello there Shayne, ..or should I say Shayner? :? We could have our own litle Canadian room here on Sylvia's message board. I know she wouldn't mind! Be sure to check out the ALBUM link at the top. (But beware of the naked man in the general one.) Each of us members can have our own photo album where we can post 5 photos. (By the way, I love your Dawg ones.) Cheers, Sasha
  15. I agree with you about Ireland. North and South. The Republic was beautiful, lush and full of friendly people. Nothern Ireland was beautiful in a different way. I absolutely loved Belfast. The energy of the people and the place was very special. I will go back there for sure. Plus, I just had a plain ol' great time! Hmmm, meeting up with Sylvia and hitting the U.K??? A 'road trip'??? As long as she promises to not get us arrested. Sasha
  16. I don't know much about history. Any countries history. lol But I've been to Scotland and Ireland...I've seen historical spots. And love reading the fact and stuff when I'm there. I just don't seem to retain any of it. Oh well! Just means I'll have to g back again someday as well. Sasha
  17. I second the Malory Men!!! Sasha
  18. Hey Peter! Another book geek is always welcome. I too carry that title, rather proudly! I admit to only having a few ebooks, but I'm spoilt living in a big city with tons of bookstores I can hang out in for hours on end!! Cheers, Sasha
  19. That would be so fabulous!! And if we don't...maybe the three of us should work on a proposal together anyway?? I'm sure we can find somewhere interested!! 8) Sasha
  20. I agree. I've entered two RWA contests and I think that's enough for me. LOL. One was Between The Sheets, contest entry being your best sensual or sexy love scene. I thought I had a good chance in that one. NOT! I had two very high scores and one very low one. That's ok, I accept it's subjective. But, the only feedback I got was "Sentence structure distracts from story". Well, OK. What about it distracts? I actually sent my entry to friend that's an english teacher, to check it out. She said I needed more coma's, and could possably stop using the word "as" so much. I can see that when I look at my writing now that someone has pointed it out to me....but why couldn't the judge say that? The scond one, I haven't gotten any feedback from yet. It also seems that the same people are winning all the time. I might feel differently about trying more if I actually got to read the winning entries. Just to compare, and see exactly what I'm lacking. But without that, and no real feedback from the judges, I'm done with it. That said, I am entering Lori Foster's Brava Novella contest. I would really love to catch Kate Duffy's eye. Best, Sasha

    RWA PRO

Thanks for the kick in the pants about the PRO. I might actually get the stuff organised this weekend for it then. And be sure to keep us informed about Luciens Gamble....I'm looking forward to reading the rest. He interests me very much. Best, Sasha

OOOps! I meant Luciens GAMBLE!

    RWA PRO

Hi Sylvia, You'll have to keep me posted about the PRO thing. I have a "R" from a ms I could send in and aplly with. But like you, I should've done it months ago because now I have no idea when I'll actually get around to doing it. ANd off that topic for a minute....I'm interested in Luciens Devil... I see a quote from Red Sage...does that mean it will be available soon? Sasha
  24. Ranger - Stephanie PLum Series, Janet Evanovich ( and I claim him as my personal Boy Toy!!!) Bobby Tom Denton - Heaven, Texas, Susan Elizabeth Phillips James Sinclair - The Ninety Days of Genevieve, Lucinda Carrington There's more..that's just a start! Cheers, Sasha
  25. Hi Sylvia! And hello Ireland too! Nice new toy you have here. I think it will be perfect for when I want to procrastinate! Not that I do that alot...well, ok. I do procrastinate more than I should. I know! This won't be for procrastination. It'll be for research and advice, since I don't belong to any writer's groups and such. Yup, now I have a valid reason for visiting often! Cheers, Sasha
