One thing regarding the staff in the Barker household. Why were they afraid of Nathan? What hold did he have over them?

There must have been physical evidence on Eva and her bedding. Think they all needed a guide dog, or glasses at the very least, to see what trauma Eva was going through.

It's interesting to compare Eva's and Gideons behaviour, as they both suffered sexual abuse at the same time in their lives, but both dealt with it differently. Gideon being disruptive, and Eva, withdrawn, until her rebellion in her late teens.

I don't think the baker household staff were blind I think they were afraid of Nathan .

Nathan certainly has mental health issues along with his sexual abusing issues .

I wonder if Eva had been the first step sister he'd raped had there been others and had staff told before and nothing had been done maybe staff had been sacked and the remaining staff didn't want to lose their job.

Not the right attitude but an option to why they didn't speak out .

It's interesting now that we know Gideon killed Nathan how will Sylvia deal with it .

How will our hero is get away with murder?

Will it be a crime of passion protection and have the cops really dropped the case.

Will victor step up and help Gideon for Eva's benefit seeing that they're both ment to be together

I have to say that I am a little sad.  Our beloved Gideon is now a murderer.  That kind of stinks!  I was really hoping that someone else did the "dirty Nathan deed".  I know this is supposed to be an erotic romance, but I don't find it all that romantic that Gideon killed Nathan.

 

Yes, yes I know that Nathan was scum.  I just wish it was someone else.  Is anyone else disappointed by this news?  What does everyone else think? 

I'm disappointed to hear that Gideon killed Nathan I was hoping for a twist and it to have been someone else with a little help from Gideon .

But I am looking forward to reading how Sylvia deals with it.

How will Gideon not go down for murder ? Because Eva and Gideon need to be together .

Sylvia knows how much we love this story. She knows we need a HEA.

Surely a police inquiry, unless there's concrete evidence, will take longer than 2 weeks?

If, as another member wrote, that the third book could end on a cliff hanger. I hope to god not. My heart couldn't stand it. Does this mean there could be an arrest? My money's on Monica. In my book Gideon is innocent, can't do no wrong in my eyes! Lol

My money's on Monica too and that Gideon knows bout it helped her out took the oppertunity to help her out.

We all need a HEA and not a huge cliff hanger for us to wait months and months for #4

I am really curious as to how the whole murder investigation is going to close. I hope it's early on in the book, becuase i really want to get to the good stuff!!

I agree I don't want the investigation of Nathan's murder to take up all of the book.

It's a romance not a thriller crime story.

We want to see Eva and Gideon's relationship un fold as they learn more about each other

The other character that I'd like to see more of are Ireland , Victor , arnaldo , Cary and Trey along .with Corrine Brett Christopher Vidal jr a d sr a little too

Hmmmm .... maybe Gideon IS continuing to sneak into Eva's place. Kinda dangerous. 

 

How's this for a scenario: each of them making a great show of going out at night, be it business meetings for Gideon and care-free socializing for Eva. Then each of them is careful to make sure they're seen going home to their respective apartments, making the cops believe they're "in for the night" alone. Gideon waits until the wee hours of the morning to sneak into Eva's building so that they can spend at least part of each night together.

I like your thinking . If they're sneaking around then I wonder if Raul one of Gideon's drivers could double up as Gideon . Making the cops think that the person getting out of the bently or limo is Mr Cross.

Yes let's have a proposal , Eva and Gideon are meant to be together .

In BTY when Gideon gave Eva the promise ring he said that its not that ring your not ready for that.

Then in RIY Monica says he's going to marry you and then in the car Eva says I'm going to marry you.

So is inevitable that they get married !

I've been reading everyones speculations for a while now and decided to join in on the conversation... Here are my thoughts on our snapshots:

1: Press release and pen, maybe a Newspaper story on the discovery of Nathan's dead body and the suspicion of his connection to the attack on Cary. Perhaps a line of "if you have information please contact NYPD detectives ...." Or a line of how evidence was found linking him to possible future attacks?

2: Presents with Red and Green wrapping paper... Eva & Gideon waking up together, its like Christmas Morning. :-)

3: Coffee in a fancy tea cup with saucer, the Marketing ad for the Blueberry flavored coffee, almost as Eva described it to Mark.

4: Smokey stage with a single microphone, something to do with Brett and his song "Golden"

5: Fluffy towels tied with a red ribbon, maybe a spa date with Eva and her mom or Eva and Ireland?

6: Soaking tub, could be more romantic bubble baths either Eva and Gideon, or soaking more bruises, or maybe re-decorating the North Carolina beach house?

ShazScott1980, I'm a little confused about your reply. I'm not sure if you miss understood me .. what DID you mean when you said why would he want to throw money at his abuser?? I'm saying Gideon was the abuser.. Also you said what would a five year old know about hormones?? I'm just a little confused LOL..I guessing Gideon was abused and in turn took it out on Christopher Jr remember he used to tease Gideon a lot. That's why when he was attacking Eva in his sleep he was saying now its your turn to feel the pain.. its just a different twist on things. What do you think??

I'm not convinced that Gideon could abuse his half brother. But it's a different twist on the story . And twist and turns on the story keep us going until June

Hi everyone I'm new to this,just figured out how to get in this chat room although I've been reading from day one..I was thinking last night about something we all know about Gideons nightmares and how he was acting out causing pain we assume to his abuser but what if now hear me out lol i love Gideon as much as you guys believe me but what if he was the one who raped Christopher jr.. I mean if your child was, abused by a stranger wouldn't you report it?? But if it was your own child who abused your other child wouldn't u want to keep it quiet. I'm not saying he wasn't abused just that it could explain the distance with the family and the hatred with the brothers...just a thought to much time on out hands..

Christopher jr was at least 5 years younger than Gideon .

I see where your coming from though, the sibling rivalry that is there Gideon talks about his brother how over the years he's tried everything throwing money at Christopher jr he'd tried theatening him but he showed no inclination to changing would he want to throw money at his abuser.

Then also would Christopher jr abuse Ireland would Gideon want to leave her in that situation ?

Then when Gideon tells Eva about his abuse he says this about his abuser

He said it was my age … hormones … I needed to and I’d be calmer. Less angry all the time. He touched me, said he’d show me how to do it right. That I was doing it wrong"

Would a 5 year old really understand hormones etc?

I'm thinking that it could be Angus .

The detective tells Eva cross doesn't hire the job out but Angus wouldn't be hired out.

Also Angus would never betray Gideon .

I'm for it being a wild card character that kills Nathan .

It's a romance story not a crime thriller the little time as possible being spent on Nathan death is good for me!

So Brett being in chapter 4 sounds good to me.

And Cary being the minx by not telling Eva the full interview from Brett in Florida sounds right !

The papperazzi only need to put two and two together Eva int a common name.

She goes out for lunch with him.

Someone at the concert not necessarily Brett or the band members(a groupie or stage hand ) could spill to the press about the fight with Gideon and Brett .

I think if questioned about Eva being the girl in golden I think that he would say.
