  1. Morning Gigi Got to wait till the weekend till I burn the midnight oil with you !! Someone reminded me that this is a romantic story, and yes it is. But given the type of baggage that accompanies our pair of love birds, it has become something more. It has always had dark undertones regarding their abuse, now we have murder thrown into the mix. This as become the dark side of love! As they say, the path of true love never runs smoothly. Definately applies to our pair!
  2. What I find sad, is that Eva doesn't seem to have had much contact with Victor in her early years. We re told that she went to SDSU and lived near here dad, and she saw him regularly. Her bad behaviour and issues prompted him to take her to see Dr. Travis. We're are not told exactly what part of America she lived with her mother and the many husbands apart from Stanton in New York ( as far as I can remember)
  3. Well it's almost bedtime for this regular. 11.30 to be precise. I have to say. I just couldn't stop at chapter 2. I have just finished Bared again. Picked up on a couple of things, but I shall remain silent till the relevant chapter. Night all!
  4. I'm easy. Whenever your happy.
  5. Just hope that first chapter lasts half the book.lol
  6. How on earth could Gideon get an employee of his, into another company's business? I know sometimes is a case of not what you know, but who you know. But he couldn't just insist on giving a junior account manager an assistant for Eva to train up surely?
  7. Will the assistant started on a Friday. Why not wait till the following Monday. Who starts a job on a Friday? Weird.
  8. This is what happens when we start doing our own sleuthing. Lol move over Graves, the Forum is on the case!
  9. Eva gave Gideon back his ring on the Thursday. Will started work on Friday. What a strange day to start a new job. Why not wait till Monday.
  10. Just sitting here thinking, it's like 2 stories, running along side by side. If you don't get the clues and red herrings, the story still makes sense. Then you get down to the nitty gritty. Everything we discuss here gives the story so much more depth. All the possibilities are endless.
  11. No one would drop such a high profile case as this, after such a short time, even if the victim was a scumbag.
  12. This cop is after promotion, or revenge? Could she or a relation, have been ripped off by Geoffrey Cross as well? They all seem to blame Gideon even though he was a defenceless child.
  13. Evening Gabri It seems like, read today, discuss today and tomorrow, and so on. If I wait till tomorrow to discuss, my brain will implode. Lol
  14. You have such a suspicious mind. I'm loving it. Is it the journalist in you? Could he also be there for protection? Keeping close tabs on her, listening to her conversations and relaying them back to Gideon? We know how good Gideon is at manipulating situations-most of the time-especially the RFP for Kingsman Vodka, and asking for Mark Garrity by name.
  15. I'm liking this idea. Be great for all the readers who live in other countries. Hope someone takes note.
  16. And boy do we discuss! I love the relationship between Mark and Steven, it seems so easy going and relaxed. Eva made the comment that she felt awe and a dash of envy, probably hoping for that sort of partnership.
  17. I wonder how often he saw his mother, given their strained relationship. I would say not often.
  18. Hey are we reading and analysing same day, or reading one day, analysing the next day? Sorry if I keep going off at a tangent. :-)
  19. This quote was from Eva's first meeting with Steven, when she stayed late at work, and they ate Chinese. Steven said, he wanted to take her to lunch with his crew, beating on how much food Eva could put away. He said "I knew you had a bit of a wild streak. It's in your smile" page 23.
  20. This chapter is the first time that we get to see a glimpse of Eva's troubled (putting it mildly ) life. Referring to it as a wild, rebellious and self-destructive phase.
  21. Perhaps men should read the books. Gideon might teach them a thing or two or three or four with luck. Lol we wish!
  22. The audio books take it to a whole new level, this is the first time I have done this. Listening while out walking the dog. When it gets sexy, I'm sure I have a big grin on my face. Oh, if only people knew what I was listening to when they pass me. Lol
  23. I'm thinking the human race will come to standstill on June 4th, while all the woman of the world read EWY.
  24. Good morning America and good afternoon to us Europeans I thought I would get ahead of the game, and have already posted my homework. What a suck up hey! I have nearly finished BTU, aswell as listening to the audio version which I downloaded, (yes I am loving the voices) plus reading the chapter daily!!! I'm going to know this book intimately. Wink wink! Sitting here in lunch and book, ready for discussion later.
