We are getting the story from Eva's pov. Reading her musings about Brett, how he used to feel, the sex, how she is feeling towards him now. She had feelings for Brett, albeit for the wrong reasons, because of her abuse. Wanting love and affection. He meant something to her. So it would be harder for her to forget. But think about it from Gideons pov. He has never been in love before Eva. All the women he had relations with meant nothing to him, he loved Corinne but wasn't in love with her. So it's easier for him to move on where girlfriends are concerned.

Brett is worrying me. His comments resemble Gideons at the beginning of their relationship. Why call it a f*ck, just call it a seminal emission in a pre-approved orifice. Which is basically what Brett says to Eva. "I want to be inside you". He has some feelings for Eva, but he doesn't understand her, one iota. Where is the love? Surely if he has held a torch for her for so long, he would be in love with her. Eva is still confused regarding Brett. Her behaviour is misleading him, giving him hope. She needs to lay some ghosts to rest where he is concerned. She is ruining her recovery by being around him. Friends they cant be. He needs to go. Pronto!

Hi Gigi . He didnt call her blonde, because of her hair colouring, but he basically called her stupid, because she(Eva)commented on Gideon wanting to be friends with Corinne. I just added the bit about the brunettes! Gideons now favourite choice of hair colouring! :D

Just love the next two chapters. I thought the shell game was very cloak and dagger. To avoid being followed. Nice touch. This plane trip was full of passion and compassion. Gideon to Eva, (those cuffs were a lovely touch,) "never more than you can take, angel. I promise you that." This guy is awesome. Just love him. The way he introduces something new, but always makes sure her head is in the right place first. What Eva did for Gideon, was the same as what he did for her in the library. To help take a step nearer him being healed. Her touch erasing Hugh's abuse. The way she helped him through his reluctance, talking and praising him, telling him how much she loved touching him. Mirroring her actions, so he could try and forget what was come. 69+! My heart ached for him at the end of this chapter. Gideon buried his damp face between my b r e a s t s and cried.

Your correct Shan. Gideon ran out on Corinne the night before, chasing after Eva. Corinne turned up at the Crossfire to see Gideon, who was having a meeting with the nasty Nathan. Because Gideon was busy, and seeing Eva coming across the road, she thought she would mess with Eva's head by looking like she had had a nooner with Gideon. Her manipulating plan worked, because Eva went up to Gideons office to chew him out.

Right Gigi, this is how my theory goes. Clancy admitted to Eva that he had been watching Nathan since he had been back in New York. Monica worried because Clancy had revealed that Nathan had beaten Cary on that Friday night. She(Monica)spoke to Gideon at the hospital on the Monday, after he and Eva got back from NC. Telling him what's happened. She arranges secretly to get the money to keep Eva safe, pay off Nathan to leave the country. Monica turns up at Nathan's Thursday evening to payoff Nathan. As she leaves Gideon turns up, not seeing Monica. (Clancy is still watching all this unfold) Gideon does the deed, leaving Nathan and the money in the flat. Clancy knows he has to do something to protect Monica, so he speaks to his brother, removes the bracelet and photos, which goes on to be planted on a Russian mob guy, who has been murdered by one of his own for sleeping with his daughter. Nathan as no connection whatsoever with the mob. Yedemsky is just a convenient dead body. Thus giving Gideon an alibi, and protecting Monica and Stanton, where the money is concerned, a paper trail. Monica will do anything to keep Eva safe, including tracking her, and paying off Nathan. I'm thinking Monica broke own and told Victor this when he came back to New York. That's why he gave his blessing to Gideon, because he knew he wasn't a cheater, but all his(Gideons)crazy actions were to protect Eva all along. Hope that is a bit clearer. I have been watching too many police programmes. Lol That's why I think Monica made those comments to Eva, when they were at lunch. Gideons secrets, and her(Monica)being financially drained., and what she did, was for love. Monica knows. Trust me.

Now I have two theories in this chapter. 1. Monica is paying off husband no.2 gambling debts to the mob, thus putting Eva at risk, if she doesn't pay up. Hence the tracking devices to keep tabs on her. Or 2. Monica knows Gideon killed Nathan. She turned up at his (Nathan's )apartment to pay him off to leave Eva alone, and go away, just before Gideon killed Nathan. As Monica was leaving, she saw Gideon, she stayed saw what he (Gideon)had done, called Clancy, who removed the bracelet, to plant on Yedemsky, care of his brother. Clancy covered up Gideons tracks along with the Stanton's, to protect them. Clancy being very loyal to the Stanton's, and cared for Eva, after all she is not just a job! Clancy did say, she(Eva) would be alright. As regard to the money trail. I think the money would have been left in the flat. It's not a crime to pay someone(Nathan) off. There were three comments from Monica that bought me to this conclusion 1." And if you're lucky, you'll never have anything happen that will drain you financially" 2. "Everything I've done is for love. Everything" 3.Eva. "We don't have any secrets, Monica. "What about him(Gideon)" I rest my case. M'lud.

I love the line from JFG, "Your blonde, but surely you can't be so naive as to believe that." Yes Mr Giroux, our girl is BLONDE, not brunette. Gideon finally came to his senses. :D

Hi Gigi It was me that said Anne was 1 of the women plus Corinne that was depressed. I think she became depressed after Gideon sent her back to Lucas. Now I think she is psychotic, and a very dangerous person to Eva and Gideon. Especially Eva.

Just a little thought continuing from yesterdays topic of Anne Lucas, and the medication she allegedly gave Corinne, resulting in a miscarriage. Anne and Terry Lucas have no children of their own, is this through choice, or one of them is unable ie Terry? What if she intentionally decided to cause this miscarriage, because she thought it was Gideons, because that was her intention, when she(Anne) bedded him, falling in love with him. To get pregnant with his child, but he sent her back to Lucas before this was accomplished. It might account for her going a bit "Fatal Attraction" I'm thinking out the box here!

lionsgate aren't filming till all books are written. Probably 2014/15 before we see it. Gideon has casinos, but his not involved with the underworld, he told Eva this. I don't think Nathan was involved, only in death.

That's what I love about it. One person starts the ball rolling, then the others pick it up and run with it. It's just a bit of harmless fun.

We do tend to analyse theories very deeply here. :D
