Yes he can be an a*se, but I think we need to cut this man a bit of slack, like I suggested in my post this morning. He could have walked away, the afternoon in his office, when he said Eva was trouble. Yes he was responsible for Nathan finding her because of the media coverage. Could this have happened though, through the publicity the Cary attracted? Nathan I think would have found Eva one day. :( -

I listened to RIY last night. The scene where Brett kisses Eva. Then the limo ride-to listen to it is shocking!-to NC. Eva herself says, Gideons life is spiralling out of control because of her. She is in fact right. Ending in him becoming a murderer. -
That's why I'm thinking its not going to be good. There's still a lot of baggage, and it's only been 2 weeks!! Saying a little prayer here.

Could it be Monica she's blonde, and Victor?
-
I'm hoping we don't have a bad cliffhanger. There is so much to thrash out. But so glad it's 5 books.

Favourite lines. "I think I loved you the moment I saw you. Then we made love that first time in the limo and it became something else. Something more" Favourite paragraph. "Until you, I didn't consider my past an issue. Yes, it affected certain ways I did things, but everything had it's place and I wasn't unhappy. In fact, I thought I had a comfortable and uncomplicated life" "Oh boy." My nose wrinkled. "Hello, Mr .Comfortable. I'm Miss Complicated." His grin flashed. "Never a dull moment." Scene Walking away from Gideon and Lucas after using her safeword. -
Could it be Eva confronting Chris Vidal Snr. Wanting to know about Gideons past. Could it tie up with the snippet about her fighting his battles now?

Thanks for that. I'm a bit new to this game. Bit of a computerphobe! -
Cary is back to pot stirring again. The fact that Ireland is with Gideon, will help the cover that she wanted to talk to Eva. Gideon is escorting his little sister. Gideon and Eva put on an act to fool the public, cops that are probably mingling, and the press. Acting cool and distant. Brett gets to sing his song to Eva, letting all and sundry know that she is there. Gideon will have to keep his cool. The iceman cometh! Chris Vidal jnr, goes into meltdown. He can hurt Gideon even more, knowing this info. Oh the options are endless.

I'm sure it will be there on the 4th June. Because we don't get our release till the 6th, my daughter is downloading it on her kindle for me on the 4th. Then by the time I'm finished, the book should be here. I'll put it on my iPod so I can listen on the way to work. Then we can digest and dissect here when I get home. Obsessed or what? Absolutely mad. ;) -
Hopefully Corinne has gone the way of the dodo by now. I wonder who invited Eva, I bet it was the weasel(Chris Vidal). Also, I think another reason for Gideon going, was because Brett's band will be there. It will be torture for Gideon not being able to interact with Eva in public. Gideon has got to remain stoic, or the games up.

I would just like to thank Gideon for an awful nights sleep! I lay awake trying to rationalise his behaviour. I tried putting myself in his position. Could I have done any better? Yes and no. Yes we all know he should have put Eva first at both the gala events, cutting Corinne off with a "I will talk to you tomorrow." Eva should have been his sole focus. Their relationship would have blossomed better, with Eva knowing that she was special enough for him to show them off as a couple. She wouldn't have run, triggering old habits. As for his nightmares, men in general I think find it hard to talk about certain issues. Gideon had kept his private life to himself, telling no one. He had only been going out for a couple of days with Eva, when she witnessed his first nightmare. What man would want to admit to his new girlfriend that he was a rape victim so early on in their relationship. If they had been going out longer as a couple, perhaps when he had learns more about trust and how to be a proper boyfriend (after all he was a virgin at this) he will be more forthcoming. Perhaps he thought he would come across as weak and vulnerable admitting his. He is a proud man but underneath he is still a scared little boy. (I am sitting here crying for this man, how stupid is this) Was he scared she would leave if she knew the truth? Yes. He doesn't understand women, they were a pleasant pass time or friends. None seems close to him, he was a lonely guy, shut off emotionally. This way he wasn't going to get hurt again. He is a deeply flawed young man. His failure to communicate being his biggest flaw. As for murder, I wouldn't know where to start. To have to cut off your girlfriend, the love of your life, and sole mate to keep up a charade, to protect her, from Nathan going postal and lay the foundations of an alibi, in such a short time. This poor chap must have been out of his mind with worry. So much was out of his control. Everything he did, he did for the right reasons. His judgement on occassion was wrong, but he's human. Life is a learning curve, we all screw up, we learn and move on. I think we need to cut him a little slack. His heart was in the right place. There were extenuating circumstances. I shall await your comments. :) -

LN Cronan One thing that does bother me though is Gideon sneaking into Eva's apartment in the middle of the night, that week he started deliberately hurting her, to try to soothe her by making love to her for hours. Soothe her even though the very next day, he was going to act like she didn't existed in the middle of an important business meeting and then was going to take Corrine to that party, making sure he got photographed looking like he and Corrine were intimate. Gideon, Gideon, Gideon -- still thinking making love to Eva is the cure for her insecurities. What he did that Wednesday night in a way constitutes a so-called "mercy f***" -- slang for having sex with someone fully intending to let them down afterward. -

I'm sitting here re-reading the end of RIY, after listening earlier on. It's amazing what suddenly pops up, even though I've read it umpteen times. Graves just couldn't help herself. Just pushed to much. ;) -

Admitting he as problems is the first step, which he did by seeing Dr Petersen. Eva's love is the best therapy for him, making him feel wanted, cherished and needed. -

When Detective Graves speaks to Eva at Parkers studio, she starts off by saying "I think your boyfriend killed Nathan Barker." Shouldn't she have said "I think Gideon Cross killed Nathan Barker". Am I being pedantic here? Eva wasn't going out with Gideon anymore, so Graves phrased it wrongly. -
Evening Gabri I knew you wouldn't be able to keep away. Yes it was plenty hot in New York City that night! Gideon is back! But there is trouble ahead, with Deanna Johnson. Eva's got her card marked though. CIAO!

Symptoms of a sociopath 1. Charming 2. Spontaneous and intense 3. Incapable of shame, remorse and guilt 4. Lies about experiences 5. Seeks to dominate and has to win at all costs 6. Highly intelligent 7. Incapable of love 8. Never apologises 9. Delusional and literally believes what they say Apparently Charles Manson was one. I don't think Gideon is a sociopath, one or two apply to him, but that can be said of the entire population. I think Dr Lucas needs to go back to med school. -
I'm sure Tatiana was taking good care of him. :)

Gideons mental health issues came about after his dads death. What the child was suffering was grief. Which takes on different forms of behaviour. This helpless child, who I think witnessed his dad death, needed love and affection. To label him as having mental health issues is barbaric. I'm sure his mother is the root of his problems, perhaps she shot Geoffrey. Who knows. O yeah Sylvia does.
