  1. Obviously being clueless is a genetic trait in the Cross family.
  2. It's hard to know at what age Gideon was when the abuse stopped, because we know so little of his past. We know it started at about 10 or 11. Something has just struck me, surely there would have been some visible evidence in his clothing, ie blood if he was being abused, or bruising. His mother should have seen. Obviously Angus noticed. Hello parents! Yes I know Lucas covered it up, but something should have been noticed to back up Gideons story.
  3. it was the comment she used, that Dr Lucas also used that Eva picked up on. Do you think it is coincidence? I don't. I think Lucas has loaded the gun for Deanna to fire.
  4. That was what Cary said to Eva after the all nighter. That was downright callous. He wants space to screw up. Is the universe big enough Gideon?
  5. I was wondering how long Deanna has been building a story against Gideon. Does she know about his dark past through experiencing some situation or hearsay from Dr Lucas perhaps? Someone or something has started the ball rolling.
  6. Do you think he is alive or dead?
  7. He*l, when you get a steamy s*x scene with this pair, I've got a big grin, and blushing! Makes the walk to work worthwhile. :)
  8. Oh my god! I'm a blubbering mess! I have just listened to the part where the detectives arrive, to the break up. That was so sad, so painful, you can feel the hurt from both of them. If they make it into a film or series, a tissue company should sponsor them. Dear god, if they don't have a HEA I think Sylvia will hear me scream in California.
  9. Part of me thinks, and I've said this before, that they will marry so Eva can't testify against Gideon. Perhaps her way of taking control is for her to initiate the wedding to save Gideon from prison. Proving how much she loves him. Yes I know its not very romantic, Gideon saved her life, she could save his. Thy can do a romantic wedding at a later date properly.
  10. Corrine was very subtle with her catty comments to Eva. Magdalene became Eva's shoulder to cry on. Listening made me see her in a different light.
  11. Just to say, too, listen while reading the book. Jill Redfield is really good when Eva gets upset. Couldn't resist, carried on to the next chapter, with the limo ride, and the orgy! Just wished there was a guys voice doing Gideon.
  12. I agree with that, well said . He should have realised, that one minute he is saying "trust me", the next he is hurting her, leaving her emotionally confused. He was under terrible pressure, how the he*l did he cope running a business, arranging a murder, " cheating on his girlfriend, and making sure Eva was safe? Eva is stronger now, and she won't let Gideon forget in a hurry what he did, albeit for her safety. Going down that route will never happen again for Eva.
  13. Hi What a difference audiobooks make to the story line. That whole conversation between the women, altered how I imagined it. This has happened a few times listening to other parts of the book. I've only just downloaded the books. Poor Angus. Got another limo trip coming up in the next chapter!!! Hope he has his iPod at the ready! :)
  14. But surely this works the other way round too. Eva has on occassion wondered why he chose her, when he can have the pick of the bevy of socialites, perfect women, none with her sort of history. She didn't abandon him when he had his nightmares, she walked out once because he lied, she knows his dark secret. Yes he hurt her emotionally, using her love against her, I don't think for one minute he would do it again, because it crucified him doing it. He was living the nightmare too. Yes he has to repair her trust issues, perhaps by placing his trust in her totally. She admitted to herself, she was just as twisted as him, when it came to Nathan's murder. She was glad he did it. Both of them have insecurities that need addressing for them to move forward. They are mirror images of each other.
  15. I'm going to listen to that chapter now. It's amazing how someone speaking it out loud changes the story.
  16. I'm hoping Ireland will help Gideon. We know she turns up at the event in Times Square. Hopefully them connecting again, through Eva's persistence, will help his trust and family issues. He needs her, as she is his only family, to give him a different kind of love. Hopefully this will aid his recovery.
  17. I'm just hoping that Gideon is still going to see Dr Petersen, to help with his issues. This is the only way to move forward, with Eva's help. I know he blew off a couple of appointments, but it's in his interest to continue.
  18. Well lady Eva will not hurt Gideon. Once this chat is out the way, hopefully things will be clearer (is it ever in their lives). I think Deanna is going to be the one that drops that bombshell into the mix. Poor Eva and Gideons dirty washing is going to become public knowledge. Gideon needs to speak to Eva about his insecurities regarding Brett (communication Gideon). This is where his trust will be exhausted to its limits. After all he did create most of this mess. Is it best to sit tight hoping it will blow over?
  19. When thinking about Brett, Eva said that was one pool she wasn't wading in again. Fingers crossed.
  20. I know two wrongs don't make a right, but is it payback time for Eva? Does she need him to feel some of her hurt too.I can't see her being vindictive like that. She knows the pain that Gideon is/ was going through, while they were apart. Although his actions were wrong, he thought they were the right ones. He made that quite clear in chapter one. Also, the ordeal is still not over. The song will give her closure from Brett. It will make her realise that , although he was immature, he did have feelings for her, he didn't regard her as a sl*t. It will improve her self esteem and self respect knowing that. Bye Brett. :)
  21. It was basically from this point, that their romance started unravelling. Jealous ex's, nut job stepbrother, corrupt Dr?, and each with trust issues to boot. Will they ever make it? Ulcers all round, I think.
  22. Best line from this chapter " I've always seen you angel. From the moment you found me, I've seen nothing but you" Best scene Lunch with Mark Steven and Shawna, who we meet for the first time. "He*l, Eva" he said laughing. " We're just playing with you. Don't die on us." Love these two guys. They inject humour into this book. They should go out with Eva and Gideon. They could do with a dose of fun. :)
