  1. Isn't that such an interesting statement though? Especially coming from someone who isn't even her family. I wonder just how far above and beyond the call of duty someone would go before stepping back and saying "this is too much". I don't really know a lot about private security so I wouldn't know how often someone in that position would be asked to break the law.

I certainly would not commit a crime for anyone let alone for my employer! Then again maybe some other people would. From a lay person's perspective, it seems like a stretch, but thus far, it is potentially plausible. :)

I know from years of Criminal Justice classes that most people who enter into the private security field have military and special agencies( FBI, CIA, MI6 etc.) backgrounds with special training. And most rich people hire those kind of people because they have the special skills to handle potentionally news worthy situations discreetly.
  2. Hi Jennpenn,

You make an interesting argument for your theory. It will all depend on how dedicated Clancy is to Monica and Eva. It almost seems like extra ordinary behaviour for someone who is supposed be doing bodyguard/chauffeuring duties. It is at this point, plausible because we have so little information.

Your theory requires a lot of dots to be connected, but I am open to ideas. We have very little to go on thus far. I wonder if Sylvia will give us a snippet or two to help us establish our theories a little more. I hope so. :)

As Clancy already stated Eva is more than a job. I believe he would do anything including going above and beyond the normal call of duties. But quite honestly there are probably a lot of unspoken demands on Clancy and Angus being in the private security field they just know when a potentionally dangerous situation arises they handle it no matter the cost or the legality of their actions. " The ends justify the means" kinda deal.
  3. Hi Jennpenn,

I agree. It could be either Ireland or Cary. Those two never miss a beat when it comes to Eva and Gideon.

Cary has had oppurtunity to see the ring but has so much on his mind with T.W.A.T.I.A.N.A supposedly being pregnant. I think once he is in the right frame of mind he will be back to his normal eagal eye self. As far as Ireland she could probably zoom in on that ring a mile away. She would be estactic!!!
  4. I can buy your theory to a point. I don't think Clancy would call his FBI brother about planting evidence. He wouldn't put his brother and his job with the FBI in jeopardy like that. I can see Clancy outside watching Nathan, going in the hotel when Gideon leaves finding Nathan dead. At that point I think Clancy took some evidence to plant. Clancy then used information that his brother shared about Yedemsky messing with the big boss' daughter. Clancy changed from following Nathan to following Yedemsky and when the opportunity presented itself, after the mob killed Yedemsky, Clancy planted the bracelet and photos giving Gideon an out or at a minimum reasonable doubt.

    Very possible
  5. Hi Jennpenn,

Wowie zowie lady! What a theory! I can just picture you wearing a fedora and trench coat while walking around Nathan's hotel room, coming up with the scenario of how things played out. :)

Your mention of the police scanner is interesting and potentially plausible. I guess the main question would be; when was Nathan's body found? I think that the progression of the theory would rest on that information. If the body wasn't found immediately then I couldn't see Clancy hanging outside of Nathan's hotel room for an indefinite amount of time. The longer that Clancy hangs out, the better the chance of being seen and later identified by some potential witness.

My question would be how would Clancy's FBI brother know about the "hit"? Wouldn't most mobsters tend to be hush hush on something like that? Another quick question; how would Clancy know to take Nathan's bracelet? Why would that be a piece of key evidence?

Now I am thinking...You have given me a lot to think about! Thank you for posting your theory. :)

Clancy would know of the significance of the braclet from Monica. Eva remembered the braclet and most likely so did Monica. Clancy would have educated himself on everything possible about Nathan. I don't think Clancy would sit outside Nathan's hotel indefinitely but he probably did stake outs at night to monitor his movments knowing that Eva was at home and Angus tailed her during the day. I have always thought Clancy didn't have close tabs on Nathan the night Cary was attacked because he knew Eva was safely out of town. He even admitted it was a miscalculation on his part. After Cary's beating I believe he stepped the survelliance. I don't believe Yedemsky was the subject of the FBI(the FBI handle organized crime not local police) surveillance but someone much higher up in the organization. With wire taps, video and maybe an undercover agent and a hit ordered on Yedemsky could have easily been known to the FBI.
  6. I think I got it figured out MAYBE. Sylvia is super clever and might fool me. But anyways I think Clancy was stationed outside of Nathan's hotel the night he died watching Nathan's movements. Clancy sees Angus pull up and Gideon goes inside and quickly returns to the Bentley and leaves. Clancy knows Gideon was also a victim of Nathan's extortion attempts as well as Stanton. So quite possibly he assumes Gideon is there to pay Nathan off. We know from chapter 8 EWY that Clancy listens to a police scanner so Clancy hears on the scanner that a body as been found(confrimed as Nathan Barker by the credit card and photo i.d registered to the room) in the hotel. So Clancy is able to slip in before the police arrive and take the braclet and a few photos of Eva. Thing is with Clancy looks and demeanor the staff or anyone who might have seen him would have aasumed him to probably be a detective and not given a second thought. But I doubt anyone saw him to be honest he's too smart. With the braclet and photos he calls up his FBI brother and asks for a favor in planting the evidence on a fall guy. FBIBRO knows through survillence that Yedemsky has a hit ordered on him for screwing around with the daughter of another mob guy. Clancy gives his brother all the Nathan evidence and his brother plants it after Yedemsky is murder.

  8. I interpreted the Tableau One choice differently. I think Eva went out with Brett because of the pain that she was still working through of Gideon spending time with Corrine, but I don't think her choice in restaurant was malicious. At that point, they both seemed to be trying to meet each other half way and choosing a place where Gideon (or Arnoldo) could watch over her, was part of that, despite her judgement to meet Brett.

One thing does amaze me about Eva's and Gideon's reunion.... If I was Eva (Ha! I wish!) Anyway, if I was her, in addition to the pain of the separation that Gideon caused, I would be devastated by how the press wil inevitably have a field day being spotted together again.

Gideon and Eva get together. Gideon dumps her for an old flame. Eva welcomes him back with open arms. Eva's publicly portrayed as a doormat...just another girl willing to put up with anything Gideon dishes out just to keep him.

She and Gideon know there's more to the story, as do we, BUT, if I would still be sickened by what the public thought of me. It's rough enough sometimes when you hear a friend thinks badly of you. I can't imagine being dragged through the press like that. I'm sure perception will change some once the public wedding actually happens...until then, with his history, I'm sure everyone thinks Eva is just Gideon's doormat of choice for the moment.

Eva clearly is dealing with some hurt, but I think she's handling it really darn well. Probably better than I would be. No matter how well intentioned he was and how thankful I would be to him, I would still be devastated that he was capable of hurting me that much...especially all for the public watch it play out.

Was anyone else surprised how well she handled things? Outside of a few hiccups, she really seemed to go from devastated to happy in lightening speed.

I loved that Eva is able to accept what Gideon did and how quickly she allowed herself to happy. But yes I agree with you I would definitely have a harder time of it. I also understand the humilation concept of course people are gonna talk a lot of s.hit about their relationship.
  9. Hi Jennpenn926,

I don't know what the statistics are on abuse victims becoming pedophiles themselves. I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess. Given the circumsances that happened with my school; I don't think that any of the kids who were abused ever thought that what happened was normal. Many of those who were abused, suffered greatly. Many had horrendous addictions to drugs and/or alcohol and weren't able to complete their schooling or maintain employment. To the best of knowledge, not one victim in my graduating class went on to abuse anyone else. Thank you God for that.

The interesting part of this whole situation is the fact that none of the parents or staff thought it fit to call the police or Children's Aid/CPS. Everyone involved literally turned a blind eye to what was going on. Many people were reluctant to come forward and speak about what happened to them because they were afraid of the stigma attached to being an abuse survivor. Some people felt that it was best to leave well-enough alone or that it wasn't any of their business. So it was this silence that allowed one sick individual to wreak havoc on countless lives.

When I was in school I took Criminal Justice classes all 4 years and 63% of pedophiles have said they were abused as children themselves. You're right they don't think its normal by traditional standards but its their normal. Most pedophiles know they are sick and disgusting people. Every once in awhile you get a really sick s.o.b that tries to justifiy their actions saying the child wanted and or loved it. Either way they all need to be shot. And anyone who doesn't call the police or CPS is just as guilty.

  11. Hi Jennpenn926,

I agree with you completely. There is no excuse for ever harming a child! What boggles my mind is the person who thinks that they can single-handedly handle a situation like this themselves. I can understand a person wanting to rescue a child and wanting to do something good, but those good intentions can end up causing far more harm!

Yes! Physically intervening and stopping an abuse in progress is Great!! That isn't the only step though. A person has to take the next step and contact the police or CPS. So many people think that if they turn a blind eye that the situation will go away and that the child will eventually forget about the incident(s), but what some people don't realize is that children don't know how to process what has happened to them and often end up acting out, etc. because they can't deal with all of the experiences and emotions.

What's completely saddening and sickening is alot of victims in turn become pedophiles themselves. Because they are never helped and never recieve the proper therapy to help them cope with all they feel some become so brainwashed that they believe pedophila is normal. I completely agree just stoping the abuse of one child isn't enough people definitely need to invovle the police to stop the person in the future.
  12. I think pedophiles are obviously sick and twisted people in their thoughts and attractions to young children and if they act upon it they are evil and digusting. But anyone who knows of the abuse of a child and stands back and does nothing. While allowing the abuse to continue is 10 times worse in my book. What excuse does a normal person have for not helping a defenseless innocent child.

  13. I'm surprised that everyone has forgiven Brett so easily when he embarrassed Eva with the Golden video. At the very least, if he is really such a good guy, he would have given her a heads up so she wouldn't be blindsided in front of the press and everyone else. Also I don't see someone who loves an ex and then says I'll win you back once I'm inside you. I would expect him to say let me wine and dine you and win my way back into your heart. The sex will follow, however, at this point, Eva is just a "###### with legs" to him. Sylvia is full of surprises so she may surprise me about Brett but right now I'm not a fan.

I completely agree that Golden video made Eva look like a s.lut IMO. I think Brett only wants Eva for sex. Appearently the girl has got mad skills cuz Gideon can't get enough and Brett wants her back.
