• Cary needs to see Dr. Travis -- his whole life turned upside down when Tatiana told him she's having his baby.
• Eva feels the need to talk to Brett face to face about the sex tape. (NO!!!! You don't need to be talking to the guy, Eva!!! And most certainly not seeing him fact to face anymore.)

I think Brett and Eva do need to have one more encounter. Where she tells him about the sex tape he reveals he already knew about it and kinda wants it released to help boost the Six-Ninth fame. You make a good observation. I think that they are both equals in beds. Yes Gideon has dominance over Eva, but Eva has just as much dominance over Gideon. Several of the love scenes seem to reflect that. What do you think?

Yes, they are equals in bed definitely. Like you said Gideon has dominance over Eva but she has to allow him and on some occasions she doesn't allow it. Because she willingly gives her self over to Gideon and he gives himself completely to her as well it really doesn't matter who is in control. All that being said it is pretty fu**ing sexy when a man is like "The Boss" in the bedroom.

Ok another thought.

You made another good point. I never noticed that the cuffs weren’t attached to anything. If they were attached to something, it wasn’t mentioned in the book. So what you are saying then is that the cuffs were more of a symbolic representation of Gideon binding Eva to him (his heart binding with hers). Am I correct?

I honestly believe they weren't attached to anything. Because he puts the cuffs on her and tells her grip the pillow. Also what really made me think they weren't attached is on page 268 Gideon says "Being bound helps you surrender, but it doesn't have to be literal. It just has to be enough to get you in the right headspace." So yeah I definitely think it was symbolic but eventually he will want to tie her up for real.

I hear what you are saying but he says all you have to say is no or stop. I understand if a situation is very intense and one or the other partners might say stop but not really mean stop but if stop is all that is needed...How can a safeword give her more peace of mind?

Gideon knows he is taking sex to a new level with the straps so Gideon reasures Eva that he will stop if she says so even if she doesn't mean it. If she were to say "stop" or "no" and not really mean it they could always start back up again. But the safeword stops everything period and so that gives her peace of mind that she will never be pushed too far.

I have a question about one of my all time favorite scenes--the airplane ride to the Caribbean.

When Gideon was introducing Eva to the cuffs he told her to close her eyes and use your safeword before you open you eyes if you have to.

Then he said "Let's be very clear about this, Eva. Your safeword isn't for me It's for you. All you have to say to me is no or stop, but just like wearing the cuffs makes you feel bound, saying your safeword will put your mind in the right place. Do you understand?'

Where is the right place he wants her mind that means no? Just curious.

I can relate to this on personal level but we won't go into detail. The right frame of mind Gideon wants Eva to be in is a submissive one. If you read the cuffs attach to Eva but not to anything else, so she really isn't bound to anything. But Gideon wants her to feel bound and helpless to him. "A prisoner to his l.ust" without pushing her to far. The safeword really is for her to give her peace of mind that she can stop the encounter at any moment.

I don’t think that Graves is pulling for Eva and Gideon either. I think that she is keeping her suspects close to her so she can keep tabs on them and maybe someone might slip and provide some incriminating evidence to her. I also think that if Graves found a shred of evidence against Gideon, she would haul his behind down to the grey bar motel faster than he could whistle Dixie! What do you think? What does everyone else think?

Yeah I definitely think Graves would go after Gideon if she had the evidence to arrest him. But I also think that she isn't too broken hearted that a pedophile and mob d.ouche are dead and Gideon is getting away with it. The only thing I bet she doesn't like is someone planting evidence and she has no way of knowing if it going to come back and haunt everyone. Since no one seems to know who it was. Although I think it was Clancy.

Gideon did say he recorded him asking Victor for permission to marry Eva so I hope and pray that Eva listens to it so we all know what was said.

But Graves probably doesn't like that there is someone out there planting evidence. And wants to know their angle.

So you think Graves is pulling for Eva/Gideon? I can't decide. I know I would if I saw the pictures and videos. I want to take Graves at her word from the first Krav Maga meeting in RIY but that would be too easy for Sylvia to go there.

I don't necessarily think Graves is pulling Gideon and Eva. I think if she had the evidence arrest Gideon she would because she is a cop first and foremost. At the end of RIY I thought she was h.ell bent to nail Gideon's a.ss with a murder charge, but not so much anymore. I think she honestly believes Gideon isn't a threat to anyone else ( that's why she asked Eva for Victor's opinion of Gideon she wanted to see if their opinions matched up) Graves probably is fine with Gideon being free after seeing all the photos but will definitely do her job if somehow evidence comes forward implicating Gideon.

I'm still confused about Graves:

The detectives stop by Eva's and ask her about Nathan and the Russian mob.

Gideon knows he was given a get-out-of-jail-free card and he wants to know why.

Gideon's lawyers tell him the case is cold or on the shelf.

Eva runs into Graves at the Krav Maga class and she is told don't worry the case is cold.

At the same session Graves told Eva she needs to worry about the bracelet.

What's up with all the mixed messages? Is Graves still playing with Eva? Isn't the prosecution required to give the defense accurate information? If yes, why is Graves still hounding Eva?

I think Graves was telling Eva the case was cold and not to worry about the police for now. But since Eva and Graves( she just can't prove it) both know Gideon killed Nathan the braclet is a lose end that could lead to Gideon getting caught. So Graves is warning Eva to worry that someone else knows.

Gideon is a self professed Dominant. But he admits that with most women he took the f.uck pad he only got them off using toys etc. (Now usually the defintion of a Dominant is person who dominants sexual situations to ensure they recieve their pleasure on their terms) Many dominants use humiliation and degradation as part of their sexual fanasties. And Gideon did degrade and humiliate after the fact by turning "iceman" on the women he had relations with.

Now with all of that said. Yes, Gideon is a dominant but not in the traditional sense of the term. Gideon pleasured himself to remain in control because he lost that control due to his abuser. He stated that his abuser made him come everytime so he could say Gideon liked it. So Gideon wanted only to make the women come so he could say he didn't lose control of himself and while remaining in control of them. Because when you are about to have an o.rgasm you do kinda lose your mind and control. But with Eva even though he's the dominant person in the bed he is not Dominant because he does allow himself to lose control and enjoy her.
