Heart skipped a beat, brain completely misfired, and well below the belt.........ummm I will stay pg. Lets just say I really liked that pic of Henry. Lol :D
  2. Hi Fayeth,

I don’t think that Gideon would have stolen Elizabeth’s engagement ring. I just wondered what he may have said to his mother to get his hands on it. I don’t think that he would have asked her when he and Corinne were engaged. Gideon describes that time in his life with a lot of distress and panic. Somehow I don’t think that if what everyone has said is true and that that ring represented a really positive time in his life with his mother and father, I don’t think that Gideon would have given Corinne that ring.

Whether Gideon was willing to admit that to himself or not, on some level, he knew that a marriage with Corinne would have been a disaster and in the end he would have lost himself and a very precious rare memento of a happy time in his life. What do you think? What does everyone think?

I think Gideon honestly asked his mother for the ring saying he was getting engaged. But here is where Gideon probably lied by omission because he would let Elizabeth assume he was talking about Corinne. He obviously never told Elizabeth he was asking Eva because she was surprised to Eva wearing the ring.

  4. I've been wondering why so many people are complaining about the cliffhanger ending. I didn't consider the ending a cliffhanger. I'm thinking perhaps people are concerned about Eva's trip to SD and that's why they consider it a cliffy? Do we really think that Eva would cheat on Gideon?

No I don't think Eva would cheat on Gideon. But I do think Brett might be just a little too touchy feely and might not want to take "No" for an answer. And I hope Eva will Krav Maga his a.ss.
  5. Homestead I usually just say miami since no one knows where homestead is and plus miami is only 20 mins away :)

  8. This is the song I think of when Eva is in her depression at the end of Reflected its by Pink

    "I Don't Believe You"

    I don't mind it

    I don't mind at all

It's like you're the swing set and I'm the kid that falls

It's like the way we fight, the times I've cried, we come to blows

And every night the passion's there so it's gotta be right, right?

    [Chorus:]

    No I don't believe you

When you say don't come around here no more

    I won't remind you

You said we wouldn't be apart

    No, I don't believe you

When you say you don't need me anymore

    So don't pretend

To not love me at all

    I don't mind it

I still don't mind at all

It's like one of those bad dreams when you can't wake up

Looks like you've given up, you've had enough

But I want more no I won't stop

'cause I just know you'll come around... right?

    [Chorus]

Just don't stand there and watch me fall

'cause I, 'cause I still don't mind at all

It's like the way we fight, the times I cry, we come to blows

And every night the passion's there so it's gotta be right, right?

    [Chorus]

    I don't believe you

  9. "Stay" By Rihanna

    (feat. Mikky Ekko)

All along it was a fever

    A cold sweat hot-headed believer

I threw my hands in the air, said, "Show me something,"

He said, "If you dare come a little closer."

Round and around and around and around we go

Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.

Something in the way you move

Makes me feel like I can't live without you.

It takes me all the way.

    I want you to stay

It's not much of a life you're living

It's not just something you take – it's given

Round and around and around and around we go

Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.

Something in the way you move

Makes me feel like I can't live without you.

It takes me all the way.

    I want you to stay.

Ooh the reason I hold on

Ooh cause I need this hole gone

Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving

Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving

Not really sure how to feel about it.

Something in the way you move

Makes me feel like I can't live without you.

It takes me all the way.

I want you to stay, stay.

I want you to stay, oh.

  10. I found this thread really interesting! I had a similar reaction to this part of the book the first time I read it. Huh? Wait, what? Lol. It made a little more sense once I was on my second read and felt like I knew the characters better.

I probably wouldn't have reacted the same to the conversation if I had read Bared to You before Fifty Shades of Grey. I had Christian Grey style Dom/Sub dynamics in my head when I read this and it threw me. I didn't see Gideon and Eva like that at all.

I was also confused by that convo because at one point he said that she can top him anytime she wants... But than later he tells her he won't be topped and not to misunderstand indulgence for weakness. Something like that. I need to mark those spots on my next read through to see if I misunderstood or something.

What I think he meant was she can physically top him but not emotionally. He still needs the control no matter what the physical situation is.
  11. I just checked out that thread on SD FB that you had posted before...there's over 1,000 replies! Here are a couple of her responses. I don't think they are spoilery":

Sylvia Day There's definitely not as much angst in Entwined, because Gideon and Eva are no longer fighting against each other, they're fighting against the world together. We're also seeing Eva addressing the last of her outstanding issues, so that she can move on to helping Gideon deal with his. That's why three books weren't enough. I was facing a choice between shortchanging Gideon or leaving threads of Eva hanging and I didn't want to do either. Also, above any of the other Crossfire books, in this book we have some real sexual healing. They tackle some pretty important things in that area, for both of them. BUT... that's just my thoughts and everyone is certainly entitled to theirs! I don't begrudge anyone who's read the book and has an unfavorable opinion of it. We're all entitled to love or hate a book in our way. As for the next two books, Gideon has so much work to do. He's got to work out his family issues, that's huge. If he doesn't stop that hurt from festering, he'll never be whole. He has to find a way to live with Eva that doesn't put her at risk, because his atypical parasomnia isn't going to be cured overnight. He's got to learn to open up more, spend time with Eva in a group setting where he doesn't need her plastered to his side, he needs to adjust to being with a woman who's so social and loves hanging out with friends, and they need to figure out how to reconcile her desire to work independently of Cross Industries. There's so much work they have to do as a couple before they can have a solid happily ever after.

    And:

Sylvia Day My explanation, for what it's worth: We were still wrapping up Eva's lingering issues, which took us through half the book. That left me with half a book (out of three) to address Gideon's and his are going to be a struggle to get through. He's got a long way to go. Just his family situation alone is tough. I couldn't shortchange him by giving him so few pages, which left me with either leaving some of Eva's familial threads dangling or writing beyond the limits of three books. And honestly, even if I'd dedicated the whole book to Gideon, it would've felt rushed trying to fix his family issues, his heavy co-dependence on Eva, his acclimation to being with a woman who's so social when he's so not... They have such a long way to go, that if I'd try to cram it all into one book, I would be hearing complaints about how jipped readers feel that the last book was too packed to do justice to Gideon. I was damned if I did and damned if I didn't. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Entwined and may not be reading further, but I thank you for reading the first three. And I hope you love the next book you read.

I seriously don't know what the h.ell is wrong with some people. I am so freaking excited there is going to be more than 3 books. SD is absolutely brilliant and she is writing the series perfectly.

Okay do I have your attention now. :)I emailed Sylvia last night really just to encourage her with all of these baseless awful reviews, and to ask her a few questions. When she gets back from Australia she said she would pop on the board here to answer any questions we might have. I think that we should do a thread marked "Questions for Sylvia Regarding The Crossfire Series," and just put all of our unanswered questions in there. This way she can see them and then respond to whatever is not a spoiler. What does everyone think?

YOU DEFINITELY HAVE MY ATTENTION!! Took me a minute to actually read the post because I was drooling over Henry. But I finally got my mind out the gutter and read on and I think your idea for a questions to Sylvia thread is brilliant.
