Hi Everyone!
Â
I couldn't help myself either....I read the first three chapters! Arghh   Eva is annoying me already! What could she possibly have to say to Brett other than asking about the tape? What feelings could she have for him? Especially after that video..how embarrassing. I'm on Gideon's side about this. No, maybe he shouldn't have mentioned Corrine...but Eva KNOWS he would never do anything with her...
Â
Eva really never told her mom she was engaged the day before?! How is that possible?...I don't like that either...To have her mom find out from someone other than her,and she was with her too! I'd love to know what Gideon said to Victor...both in this book and last
Â
I like Arnoldo...you can't blame him for being concerned about his friend. What I'd like to know is who all of the other women were that loved him...how long was he with them? Are they the same women he took to the hotel? Oh! And he's selling the hotel! For Eva...yet another thing he's doing for her b/c she hates it.
Â
It's sad to see how much Gideon doesn't like himself  And with the book alternating POV's you can see how obsessed he is with Eva. It's nice to see how happy he is chatting w. Ireland....no so much w. his mom lol.
Â
Well...one week to go! I just hope there are a lot of questions answered and happy moments in this book.
I JUST posted about the Brett situation.
Â
I get that Gideon's head is kind of like a fortress, but how in the does she think he's going to feel about his WIFE being "conflicted" about her feelings for another man?
Â
What on planet Earth could Eva be feeling for Brett (barf)
-
Maybe I'm the only one here but being inside Gideon's head makes me kind of dislike Eva a little tiny bit.
Â
If she's so consumed with Gideon and realised that Brett was just a passing thing, no good for her, etc etc then WHY IN THE HECK is she conflicted any at all?
Â
He raised a great question about it too. Gideon asked her if seeing the music video for Golden skewed her memory of what it was really like between them.
Â
I'm not sure why she's making what happened with Brett in the past into great love story in her mind when she's admitted herself that was nothing like she shares now with G.
Â
She mentions finding shattered pieces and trying to get rid of them for good but WHY is it so hard for her to get rid of Brett?
Â
I dunno. Maybe somebody can explain to me. Maybe I'm missing a few pieces or forgetting a few details.

First three chapters live now
Yes!!
Â
I purposely waited for Sylvia to post it just in case.

I would like to see the epilogue in book five where Eva and Gideon start a family. I am thinking two kids with one on the way. I think having a family will help both of them especially Gideon. This will give him the family that he never had while growing up.
I really wish the "like" feature worked.
Â
I'm a sucker for babies and pregnancies in novels. I think it would be great to see how Gideon adapted to being a dad.
Â
Clearly it wont happen in the actual books but an epilogue would be nice

We have a date November 18th! Preorder is up for the UK, I am assuming the US will have one up shortly.

Â
OH MY GAWD!!! I literally want to cry! I have from now til Nov 17 to read every single book I can get my hands on because I'll be reading CBY in one sitting, the re-reading the entire series over and over and over and over...
Â

So I haven't posted in quite a while and I'm sorry to say that I'll just wait for the book to come out without reading much more of the teasers etc.
Â
The more I stress about the release of the next book the less enjoyable the idea of Gideon and Eva is becoming for me so I'll just await the newsletter with the release date in my email inbox and try to ignore everything else about the series.
Â
I've found other series to read and I've fallen for a new hero (though it was just a single book - Holden Maxwell) and I wish I could get to the next phase of Gideon and Eva's story (like I'm sure lots of you are)
Â
Â
Have fun in the mean time ladies (and gents?) Â
-
Guys!
Â
I've on my 5th read!
Â
I'm having serious EVA-GIDEONÂ withdrawals
Â
I know its been a while since the last book came out but I keep checking the site for updates and those teasers make me more depressed than anything *laugh*.
Â
I've been waiting and waiting and even went on to read other series but gosh darn it! I just can't stop reading these books over and over and over.
Â
Of all the series I've read (I'm a junkie!) this is by far the best!
Â
No pressure Syl but I'm dying!
-
I would certainly LOVE that! I have bought 3 sets of the novels out now for myself, my best friend and my aunt and I would buy them a series from G's perspective.
Â
I only hope she's self-publish that set if she could and release a box set with all the books. I'd hate to wait....
-
I agree! I'd hate it if it were a movie because they'd ruin it for sure. Just look at Twilight! It wasn't an amazing read or anything but it would have flourished and been more entertaining to watch if it were a series ala Vampire Diaries or True Blood. i HATE movie adaptation because they eliminate some of the core things from the novels almost all the time. I wouldn't mind if they wrote the script word for word out of the Crossfire novels!

Hi Goshdarnit,
You picked some lovely photos.Â
Â
Thanks GiGi!
Â
Is this the actual thread to post these though because I think I saw another thread similar to this one but I can't seem to find it. I'd hate to flood the thread with images lol

My pics:
Â
Gideon: Henry Cavill
Â
Eva: Candice Accola
Â
I have to give more thought to the other cast but these two popped into my mind from the moment they met in the Crossfire building!

Hi All,
Â
I really tried to like this book. I've read it twice thus far but I still end up feeling underwhelmed. Maybe I'm missing something. Was there a book before Afterburn?
Â
I got the "first novel" impression from this book. There were just too many loose ends and I feel like too much was "smushed" together without actually being detailed or explored properly. I read this after reading the Crossfire series (about 4 times for each book) so maybe I was just expecting more. It feels like this book was put out in a rush.

Hi GoshDarnit,
Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy yourself.Â
Â
Your Maltese photo is also really cute! I have a few of my own Maltese dogs.Â
Hi GiGi
Â
Thanks for the welcome! I lurk quite a bit lol. I finally decided to take the plunge!
Â
I have a maltipoo at home and she's just amazing!
-
I just got the audio books and I've read all the novels. I do like the reader's impressions of almost every character. I hate her portrayal of Gideon though lol. I'm just at BTY and I listen at work.

Exactly! For the life of me, I CANNOT fathom how she could possibly be conflicted about her feelings for Brett when she feels the way she feels about Gideon. I could understand if her past relationship with Brett was less superficial than it actually was but it wasn't. I am also more sympathetic with Gideon in this situation. Knowing how Gideon takes to being loved by Eva or anybody else in general, how exactly is he supposed to process her proclaiming her undying love for him and being conflicted about her feelings for another man.
Â
How is he supposed to process that especially what happened after the concert, before, at and after the video launch event? He was petty in bringing up Corrine but he's never lied to and misled Eva about what she [Corrine] means/meant to him ever since the ex-fiance bomb was dropped.
Â
I feel like she was being very flighty and inconsiderate with that whole exchange.
Â
I don't think this is a good excuse or thought for Eva to be having either. How would she feel if Gideon PLANNED to flirt with Corrine? WHY would she flirt or want to flirt with Brett knowing that it would hurt G's feelings or that if the situations were reversed, her feelings would be hurt?
Â
Like I said, reading it from G's perspective makes her the bad guy in my book. Maybe if I knew definitively what turmoil she was facing on the inside I'd get it (unlikely).
