  1. I agree with you in that I think Gideon erased the video Brett had at his hotel and/or home computer(s) but I think he carries a copy with him.  I too believe he wants to show it to Eva in an attempt to make her remember their "good times" but she will not receive it well.  It is proof that he doesn't know her really.

It's possible Sam handed Brett an original copy of the sex tape on a flash drive, the same way Sam handed Gideon a copy on a flash drive. What if Brett had the flash drive in his pocket while he was at Gideon's office and the experts were erasing his computer and tablet? He'd shown up expecting to see Eva. If he had been hoping for a chance to show her the footage of them hanging out together, supposedly on the tape as well, a flash drive would be the easiest thing to carry, even easier than a tablet. Ah well. He's either still got a copy or he doesn't, and if he still does, my bet is a flash drive. Gideon will keep looking and he honestly can tell Eva he tried. What really makes my skin crawl is the thought of Christopher watching that tape.

  2. I don't think Anne came in the building with Cary and I don't think she was visiting Cary.   I don't know where you read that Raul showed that she was with Cary any place other than the fund raiser.  I do think that Anne knows where Eva lives and she came in the building with a resident she knows to case the place.  Raul might tail Anne but Cary would never hurt Eva that way.

As far as Cary cutting himself he is reverting to old habits that he had controlled thanks to Dr. Travis.

Eva hasn't told Cary anything about Anne so he has no idea about her significance, and only Gideon really knows how dangerous Anne is. And like Dr. Travis, Anne is a mental health professional. It's possible she figured out some of Cary's triggers and so she would know what could make matters worse and she's sick enough to push those buttons. The Anne that I read about when Gideon barged into her office scared the heck out of me. Look at what buttons of his she tried pushing.

  3. I was under the impression that the only hard copy left of the s*x tape was the one Gideon has. Didn't Gideon have all other copies wiped?

In Chapter 11, pages 180 and 181. While Gideon kept Brett busy at his office, someone broke into his luggage and wiped clean his laptop and tablet. It was the latest move in other stuff the hired guns had done, including checking Brett's apartment, wiping out stuff on Sam's equipment and even hacking into accounts and computers of people Sam sent samples of the video (this must have been when Sam was shopping around for bidders willing to buy the whole tape.) When the experts were trailing the links they found out a full copy went to Christopher Jr. and they wiped it off his computer. But they also warned Gideon "it's possible there's a hard copy floating around, although we've searched Kline and Yimara's transactions records for security deposit boxes and the like." Gideon wants the experts to keep checking for any hint there's a hard copy still floating around out there.

This makes me wonder whether Gideon used these same experts to find and destroy all of Nathan's copies of the photos and video he took of Eva.

  4. In EWY Eva said something to Gideon about Corinne being his alibi....Gideon stated that the fire was his alibi and that Corrine was just there for part of the time.

that was on a specific day he killed Nathan. But overall Gideon used Corine as alibi for their break up and going back to his ex fiance. :)

As part of his cover-up Gideon made sure a picture of him with Corrine at the party was taken that night and made it into the media. The picture served two purposes: making people believe he and Corrine were back together, and proving he was partying at the hotel the night Nathan died.  Later, after Eva knew the truth behind the picture, she still assumed Gideon hung around with Corrine for hours that night as part of the cover-up. He assured Eva he used the fire as his excuse to hang around the hotel for hours and Corrine didn't stick around all that time.

  5. Gideon has already erased all traced of videos even the one Brett had. Remember he hired special people to hack on Bretts' stuff while Gideon was talking to him .

The pros he hired to hack into Brett's computer did warn Gideon it was possible a copy could still be out there, and they promised to keep looking for things such as safe deposit boxes under Brett's name. For example, Brett (and/or Sam, Christopher, etc.) could have transferred a copy to a flash drive and then locked it up in a safe place.

  6. A couple comments on your posts.

Christopher.  I don't think he was abused by Hugh.  The more I think about it Gideon went to his mother about the abuse.  She went to Dr. Lucas who knew Hugh was the therapist.  I'm sure he let him know that Elizabeth was asking questions.  Dr. Terry must have told him that he lied to Liz to protect Anne and her family.  Gideon said the abuse lasted a year I think that is when he reported the abuse and Hugh stopped being his therapist.  What I do think is Christopher witnessed the abuse and feels guilt.  Often guilt is manifested by misplaced anger.

Deanna - I'm not worried about her even if she finds out Gideon and Eva are married.  She was a one night stand and I don't think she expected more.  What hurt her is Gideon treated her badly like she was lower than a prostitute.

Corinne - I don't think they can tell her they are married.  She is a major loon.  The reason they didn't tell everyone they were married is because Eva didn't want her mother to feel she got married behind her back out of revenge (after the bad lunch) and she wants her father involved.  If the tell Corinne it will go public.  I think Corinne is going to pull the book deal in the end.

Anne - She is one of the major loose cannons.  She will do anything to hurt Gideon.  Gideon said her whole family is nuts and I think he's right.  I also think she is Corinne's therapist and she is behind her bizarre behavior.  Once they figure this out Corinne will back off and cancel the book deal. I hope that Anne gets to see Eva's self defense skills.  She has to use them on someone.

Brett - I still think he is going to make one more play for Eva and she is going to put him down.

Brett still has the video of him and Eva having hot sex. What if he thinks her seeing it would make her remember how great things were sexually during their brief relationship? He's cocky enough (pun intended) to think he's the best she ever had and no way can Gideon satisfy her like that. He pretty much said so in Gideon's office. I think if he ever did show Eva the tape it would backfire horribly for him. It also could be healing in a way for Eva to see the desperate and messed up young woman she used to be before Dr. Travis started helping her to get her head on straight.

  7. Yes, Gideon even mentions that fact to Ann when he goes to her office. Is she willing to lose her career and marriage to get revenge against him. I think at this point she is. She is so off track that she will risk losing everything to get back at Gideon. He will destroy her and he has the means I just hope he does it before she gets to Eva. I think Raul will put a tail on Ann in the next book so that is how Gideva will piece togerther her connection with Corinne and possibly Cary and whoever else she has drawn into her web...

I suspect Anne Lucas is messing with Cary's mind, using him as a pawn in some sort of plan to hurt Eva and thus hurt Gideon. Thanks to Raul's good work, we now know she was able to meet Cary, and it looks like that time Eva spotted her leaving the apartment building she had arrived in Cary's company. Cary has started cutting himself, self-destructive behavior. What if Anne is manipulating him mind to make his anxieties worse, make him unravel? It would fit the pattern if it turns out she prescribed depression medication to Corrine that made her depression worse. Good thing that Eva spotted Anne leaving the building and told Gideon about it. I definitely can see him putting a tail on Anne now and hopefully catch her not only in Cary's company but also Corrine's. Connect the dots and figure out just how dangerous a loon she is.

Good point about it being a bad idea to tell Corrine they're married. She is a loon and is now a loose cannon. And it's not like Gideon can tell her he never meant to let her get her hopes up during those weeks he dated her, because that's exactly the way he needed for her to act and Eva to act heartbroken. Because he had to. It was more than his freedom at stake. He knew Eva could end up accused of being his accomplice. I'm still not convinced I can trust Detective Graves, but she seems to be taking her cues from Eva's father. If Victor approves of them getting back together and getting engaged, then Graves feels that at least for now she can trust Gideon isn't a danger to Eva and the only person he ever was a danger to was Nathan.

I think Eva's Krav Maga skills are for Gideon's peace of mind. He knows the training has given her the skills to fight him off if he ever loses complete control sexually. She has more than a safe word to stop him if he goes into some dark place and snaps. Not that I think he ever would with her. But even Dr. Petersen knows the potential exists. He told the two of them they should be afraid about Gideon's control.

  9. Actually I think Anne is referring to herself and Corinne when she says this...I dont think Deanna is involved with Anne although who knows??!!

I think Deanna knows who Anne is, because Anne had been chasing Gideon at a society event Deanna was covering. The reason he picked up Deanna and took her to the hotel for the one-night stand was because of Anne. In EWY Deanna was trying to get dirt on Gideon from Eva and Maggie and at one point went to see Corrine. What if Deanna actually has gotten dirt on Gideon from Anne? About his dark sexual side, which Anne definitely has seen (and probably encouraged the kink during their affair: she comes across as sexually predatory.)

  10. Hi guys! Long-time reader/follower, first time poster. These forums are what kept me sane throughout that long wait for CBY, so thanks to all of you for being so intuitive and clever with your predictions and hopes for this fourth book and keeping me entertained. ;)

There is something that has been bugging me about the book that I hope you guys could help me figure out. When Eva is going to San Diego and the whole Brett thing comes up, Gideon tells her that she needs to tell Brett that they're married. And then later, when he confronts Brett, he shows him the picture of their private wedding. Here's my thought, if that is the tactic that Gideon is using to get Brett to back off, why not use the same thing to get Corinne to back off? Corinne is pulling out all the stops as a last ditch effort, couldn't Gideon tell her that they eloped and that she should stop trying as it's too late? Why tell Brett but not Corinne? I know a big part of her story is that she's acting out of character and as you guys have astutely predicted, she may be Anne Lucas' patient which would explain a lot. But still, if they told her that they were married maybe she would pack her stuff and go back to her husband and just quit trying to eff everything up.

What happens if Brett tells Deanna they're married? What will she do if she thinks Gideon lied to her? All bets are off, and she'll no longer take his word? Run a story about his dark side? Maybe even about the existence of the sex tape? Hard to say -- but I don't entirely trust Deanna, and I think she's smart enough that if she finds out Gideon has been manipulating her (which he has and continues to do) then there's going to be trouble.

Gideon continues to have a double standard when it comes to Eva/Brett and him/Corrine. He should tell her he married Eva. Actually, Arash should tell her Gideon is married. Gideon needs to stop ALL contact with her.

  11. Just to touch on Gideon being overwhelmed by Eva taking control during sex it in my opinion is literally a control issue. Being an abuse survivor Gideon has probably vowed to never not be in control sexually again. He was taken advantage of by someone who 'dominated' him. By being with all these women who are physically aggressive Gideon has been able to bring them to the f*ckpad and dominate them. Show them that they are at his mercy physically. While at the same time it mentally reminded Gideon that he was never going to be a victim again. Eva in the limo that very first time called the shots. It was the first time Gideon allowed someone else to control the when and the how. He broke his rules. To use one of Eva's lines he took a calculated risk by allowing her to 'top' him. For someone with his issues that is HUGE. It speaks volumes to the connection he felt with her and trust he had already begun to place in her.

When Gideon was first chasing Eva around the Crossfire and all he was getting was sass, he asked Eva if she wanted to be seduced. But he was the one who ended up seduced in the back of his limo.

  12. I dont think Gideon could have been more clear than in Chapter 7 of CBY when he told Corinne that even if they were together he would have eventually found Eva and he would have left her to be with Eva.I cant see any other way that Gideon could have put her down; that was extremely blunt and to the point. Gideon is NOT sending mixed signals. Corinne is in denial and she has been since she came back to New York. This supposed tell-all book is such a pathetic stunt on her part . It makes her look so desperate and IMO ruins her chances with some other eligible single gazillionaire. Who would want to be with someone that wanted someone else and shouted it from the rooftops for all to hear...Giroux certainly didn't. He dumped her too.

She's definitely delusional and what Gideon has said to her couldn't be clearer from the bits we got in EWY and the actual conversations in CBY. It's his actions that are still sending mixed messages. He even confessed in EWY chapter 10 he deliberately sent her mixed signals (his words) when he was using her by fostering the impression they might be more than friends. Once he dropped the facade he was dating her he told her no more in-person contact and yet at least five times since that conversation he seen her because she pulled stunts to get his attention.

  13. Arash wouldn't be the one to fact check, it would HAVE to be Gideon and she knows this.

Publishing the book is the only way to ensure that Gideon reads it. She could hand him her diaries and he could simply chuck it in the garbage or the fire. In order for him to take any legal steps like she KNOWS he's want to, he'd have to read it and provide proof that a specific thing is false.

By trying to find proof that whatever she wrote was false, he'd have to think back to the time it happened. She's counting on that. Her plan is actually a good way of getting him to remember. If Gideon was in a different state (i.e he loved her, was torn between the two women etc) she's actually have a shot of getting some positive attention. All this will do though is just prove to Gideon that Corinne was never the woman for him.

    Correct as well.

She knows that the relationship though intense is fairly new. She also knows they fight quite a bit. Corrine probably thinks that Eva will indeed run away or feel threatened by what he had with her.

It doesn't help matters that up to now, Gideon keeps breaking down to see Corrine and all that does is send a mixed message that if she cries out for his attention she'll get it. Think about it. When he ended the charade of dating her he told her they could still have some sort of long distance contact but no more spending time together. When he quit taking her phone calls she showed up at the Crossfire and got him to come to down to the lobby. Then more crazy stalking got him to go see her at her apartment to talk about her depression meds. She took the overdose and he went to the hospital. Then after she got out and went to the Crossfire again he brought her into his office because he felt bad for her because of the miscarriage. But he told her he was engaged so no more contact. The tell-all book is her latest stunt and look what he did. He called her to arrange to meet at the same restaurant he took her to weeks earlier when he started spending time with her.

Know what I think he should have done? Sent Arash to the restaurant instead. Send a clear message and quit sending the mixed message that if only she tries hard enough she can get Gideon to see her.

  14. I have been thinking a lot about Corrinne and the book.  As I listened to and read the sit down that she and Gideon had at Tableau One, someone kept hitting me.  I don't think that Corrinne neccesarily wants her diary and whatever else she wrote, to be turned into a book.  What she wants is Gideon to read it and remember "their love," and to get closure.  By getting published, it doesn't guarantee that Gideon or Eva will ever read it.  The smarter thing, if her true goal is for Gideon to read it, would be to take his offer pending that he actually reads the book.

If she really is a private person, why would she open herself up, knowing that is a chance her might just have Arash or someone else read it to fact check the book.

I think Corrine's real target audience for the book isn't Gideon. It's Eva, who was crazy jealous when the women first met and who Corrine probably thinks still neurotic about it. When she signed the book contract she probably fooled herself into thinking the book will make Eva pull another one of her runners. Think about it, especially if she exaggerates in the book how she broke the engagement not Gideon. Plays up the fact (lie, really) that if he had his way originally, the two of them would now be married. I hope Gideon's talk with her at the restaurant made her change her mind. What's the good in driving Eva away if the book also drives Gideon away? Or at the least maybe Gideon managed to scare Corrine, because he threatened to make her sorry if she went through with it. I bet that was the first time she ever heard him threaten her. I hope it turns out to be the last time he ever saw her left at the table when he walked out on her.

  15. does anyone think that maybe chris left her because he maybe thought it could of happened to Christopher as well?

Interesting idea Christopher might have been sexually abused too. It would explain some of his own issues including the willingness to sometimes sexually exploit women and his anger at his brother. Christopher acts like a jerk and Gideon has been no angel either (before his Angel). Legacy of childhood abuse for both men? At the very least Chris now knows a sexual predator had been under his roof at a time when there were two boys in the household so Elizabeth's attitude endangered both her sons. Not Ireland though, she was a newborn at the time. Maybe this explains why the boys are messed up but she's very healthy. She never got abused.

  16. Is it possible when he first had s** with Eva in the limousine, the big surprise to him was that he was able to function without any form of violence?

Before Eva he'd never had consensual sexual activity of any sort anywhere other than in his eph pad room. But he was so hot for Eva the first time he got her alone dragging her up to his office that he pawed her on his couch and who knows how far they would have gone if his assistant hadn't called on the intercom to say his appointment was there. Gideon even said words to the effect of he couldn't believe what he was doing in his office in the middle of the day. The second time was in Eva's apartment a few hours before their first date and in CBY inside his head we learn he'd wanted her to bad in her apartment he didn't restrain himself until he could get her into his hotel room. But he didn't allow himself to come in her apartment. He did come in the limo and it was one of the ways his world changed because of her.

  17. All I can say is...

If someone gave me a tape of a person I loved and that tape didn't show them in the best light I would not want it shown to the world.  In fact, like Gideon, I would do everything in my power to get all the copies of the tape to destroy them.  Brett didn't do that.  He likes the tape and he wants to use it not.  My guess is the reason he wants to see Eva is because he knows her exhibitionist side and he thinks she will allow him to show the more explicit parts of the tape.  Gideon knows her exhibitionist side so he takes her behind two way mirrors where she can see the crowd but the crowd can't see her.  He doesn't tape her.

Sam was commissioned to record the band.  We don't know if he was requested to capture them having sex but he was commissioned to record the backstage activities.  The band knew what went on back stage. Brett and the whole band planned to make money when the tape was released.  Sam gave Brett a heads up but Brett already had a copy of the tape.

I know a lot of people are Team Brett but I'm not one of them.

Even if band members knew Sam liked to capture videos backstage the people they were screwing did not know and so were not consenting and so it was a crime. Gideon threatened to find more sex recording victims and get Sam sent to prison and that is how he scared Sam to sign the contract giving up any right to use his videos of Six Ninths. Brett is being a scum by refusing to give up his own rights to use old video of himself for commercial purposes. All the video isn't illegal, just the sex parts. I used to be on Team Brett thinking he was doing nothing wrong but trying to win back Eva when she was giving him false hope by sending mixed messages. Now I don't like him and want him gone forever from her life.

  18. I reread the part in Bared to You where Eva met Corrine and the part in Reflected in You where she got a call from Maggie the next day and some things jumped out that made me connect some dots about Corrine's tell-all book. That night Corrine was playing "remember when" reminding Gideon of places they used to go many years ago. Maybe her book is supposed to be more of this ploy because she can include pictures of them together at places.

There was something weird in the part when Corrine was stroking her neck when telling Eva how intense Gideon used to be scared her. Eva thought Corrine touching her neck was unconsciously remembering a necklace she wore. What if it was something else, like a collar? I can't see Gideon tying her up but I can see him experimenting with something like trying a collar when he was exploring being a dom during sex. I have a theory the sex started out vanilla but slowly changed when it wasn't enough for him. Maybe Corrine forcing him to get engaged made him feel he was losing control of life and it triggered him sexually. When he talked to Eva about the engagement he blame the break-up on sex but thought the problem was the hotel and he wouldn't stay the whole night. What if the real sex problem for Corrine was at some point they passed her comfort level or at least she felt she couldn't keep him satisfied.

  19. To me the two most evil characters are Corrine and Anne. Anne is a sicko. Psychotic and it wouldn't surprise me if she is Corrine's therapist. My daughter is a therapist and I know that anyone worth anything in that field would know immediately if meds were wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if Anne misprescribed on purpose to cause Corrine to go nuts. That said, I think Corrine is evil and does not want anyone to have Gideon if she can't. If she was 4 months pregnant when she miscarried, she and Giroux were still together before she came back to the U.S. Could it be possible she was here to see her parents and when she heard about Eva decided to go after Gideon again? As long as he was seeing one nighters who looked like her, she was happy. Eva was another story. (How creepy why he dated brunettes!)

Cary is protective and needy. He is not a bad guy.

Still want to know about Monica. She definitely has a story.

Totally agree with your theory about Anne being Corrine's shrink. I think her plan all along was to drive Corrine to kill herself as payback for his role in making Hugh kill himself and payback for him using her sexually. She must have known Gideon's father killed himself when he was a kid because of how infamous the death was and she probably recognized his emotional problems were rooted in his father dying. What an evil way to screw him up even more by making him feel responsible for Corrine killing herself and an evil way to make the world think he's a monster to women just like Terry Lucas swears he is.

About Corrine coming back to New York, she already was calling Gideon daily from France before he met Eva. She already decided leave her husband and was about to fly to New York when Gideon told her over the phone he met someone, he had that phone call with her right after he left Eva at the advocacy center dinner. Corrine cancelled her flight but then a couple of weeks later she came back anyway. Or so Corrine claimed when she messed with Eva's mind the first time. My guess is the viral video of GidEva passionately arguing is what made Corrine decide to go for it go back to New York and start manipulating him in person instead of by phone. I noticed Captivated by You mentions that video of GidEva a few times.

  20. Hi Everyone,

Can someone help me understand in Chapter 2 where Eva is talking to Christine Leaman, she is thinking "I winced inwardly. Of course she'd think I would recommend my employer to my boyfriend, because she'd assume Gideon and I had been dating at least long enough to make an engagement plausible. Telling her I had been with Waters Field & Leaman longer than I'd been with Gideon, when I had been employed there only a couple of months, would open up speculation I didn't want floating around."

I feel stupid for asking but I am kind of confuse as to what she is saying, can someone help me out? and Thanks! :)

Maybe Eva thinks Christine will believe Page Six about a baby being on the way!

Yes, remember the scene takes place before the phone call from Monica where Eva learns that her engagement is public knowledge and that there is a baby bump speculation already out there.

I think Christine Leaman followed the GidEva relationship all along from the paparazzi picture of the kiss on the sidewalk to the tabloids going nuts that morning about the engagement and I think she also connected the dots about how the agency landed the Kingsman account so quickly and easily. When she swung by Eva's desk in Chapter 2, I think she was on a fishing expedition to see if  the baby rumors were true. Maybe she wondered, OK, Gideon says he wants to marry Eva but weeks ago the tabloids were speculating similar things about him and Corrine. Was Eva maybe on the fast track to broken engagement too, flavor of the week, or just how serious was it? How did that affect the agency for good? .

  21. Oh gosh I didn't mean Arnoldo was helping Corinne, just that he thinks she is okay and would be suitable to marry Gideon - Arnoldo only sees her good side, not her scheming side. He knows Gideon is happy with Eva but he does not realise that Corinne is actually a big problem.

Actually I think her plan to write a tell-all book about Gideon changed Arnoldo's mind about her some. Arnoldo and Gideon met for drinks at one of his clubs later hours after Gideon walked out on her at the restaurant. The feeling I got from that chapter is Arnoldo sided with Gideon about him being angry with her even though she'd cried after he left. I'm finishing my second reading of the book and have started listening to the audiobook, picking up all new things from both. I'm liking Arnoldo for being honest with his friend instead of sugar coating. Remember its Eva's own fault Arnoldo disapproves of her because he watched her hurt Gideon really bad. Now he's seen Corrine threaten to do something hurtful and so is getting a little taste of what a problem she is.

  22. Hi ladies,

    A couple things:

Cary - is the first person that knew Eva's story with Nathan besides her mother.  He had a very abusive childhood and is self destructive.  Eva tells Cary things that she can't tell anyone else and she knows he will keep her private life private.  He never told anyone about Nathan and was beaten severely because Nathan thought they were living together romantically. He still hasn't betrayed her.  Let's face if you are involved with a man who is high profile like Gideon you can't discuss your relationship with anyone because it might appear on Page 6 or another gossip column.

Cary is still messed up and now that he has started cutting himself again Eva is worried.  Too much is happening in his life.  I still question that Tat is pregnant with Cary's baby because he uses protection.  Eva said he was religious about protection.  if Tat is pregnant it is by another man and she trying to get money from Gideon and/or Eva.  We'll see.  Trey is good for Cary and I hope Cary follows Eva's advice.  Eva is loyal to her friends and Cary is her friend.

Corinne - Her tell all book.  Of course people will buy it.  Here is a woman who had a kinky relationship with one of the wealthiest men in the world.  Not only is Gideon wealthy he is young and gorgeous too.  If the book is released his business dealings will be in jeopardy.  I'm sure various boards will lose trust and groups like Mother's against Kinks will pressure stores and what not to drop his products.

Magdalena - She is pro Gid/Eva.  She moved on.  However Gideon never shared his personal past with her.  She doesn't know him the way Eva does.

Brett - I'm sure he will come back.  At this point I don't think he loves Eva he just wants to beat Gideon and take her away from him.

Christopher Jr.   - I think that he was also abused.  If it wasn't physically, Hugh may have asked him to stand guard and threatened him if he told.  That would be traumatic for a child.  If he was abused by Hugh after Gideon left he would blame Gideon.  There is something that we don't  know yet about him and Gideon.

Liz - I don't like her and I don't know how that is going to change.  Eva, however, knows that Gideon needs to have a relationship with his mother and she is going to try to bridge that gap.

Anne - is dangerous because I think she knows about Hugh.  Also I think she is a woman scorned.  She wants to strike back at Gideon and she knows she can do that through Eva.  She was counting on Corinne being the one Gideon wanted but now that she sees it is Eva she is going to go after her some way.  I still believe that Anne is going to be at the receiving end of Eva's Krav skills.

Chris & Liz - I believe that Eva is going to help them heal and get back together.  I don't know how but I'm sure she will.

Victor - I still think he is going to move to NYC maybe with Graves. (I'm not sure I like that scenario)   I just ask myself why she is still talking to Eva.

Monica is not going to be with Victor.  He can't give her what she needs.

I'm surprised that we didn't get anything about Monica, Christopher or more details about Gideon in this book.  That disappointed me.

Agree 110% with everything except the last part about Gideon. Getting inside his head in this book, getting glimpses of his past, being able to experience how scared he is sometimes underneath that strong exterior. Wow. Just, wow. Even some of the ugly things and I think there is really some scary stuff there, especially just how badly he used Anne which went beyond emotional. I love him all the more knowing how wounded he is.

  23. Question: why would any publisher be interested in a book about Corinne's engagement to Gideon? Maybe one of the entertainment scandal sheets would be willing to pay for some interviews and her pictures, but really - a book? And why would she want to portray herself - even putting her best possible spin on it - as a wannabe adulterer, trying to scratch Eva and catch Gideon. Plus , she's still after Gideon and I doubt she's stupid enough to think putting him in the gossip columns is going to help bring him back.

Somewhere in one of the books it said Gideon was the hottest bachelor in New York since John F. Kennedy Jr. I wonder whether in real life a publisher would have jumped at a chance if one of the many women John John dated was willing to publish a tell all book. Even after he got engaged and maybe even after he was married. He tried to keep him private life private but the paps followed him everywhere and he did date beautiful women even movie stars. I think John John might be one of the in real life figures Sylvia Day took inspiration from creating Gideon.

  24. I wasn't sure where to put this. I thought Magdalene was a "friend" of GidEva now but this has me thinking she could be a threat in OWY

    Sylvia posted this:

Magdalene vs. Corrine: who’s the bigger threat? #HumpDayHottie

I am so thankful to have found this site. I love reading what everyone thinks. CBY definitely has me reeling.

Maggie has loved Gideon for years and understands him and genuinely wants him to be happy. She sees he found in Eva the happiness he looked for and she seems genuinely grateful for that. Maggie wants to keep being a friend to Gideon and accepts that means she has to get along with Eva. I think Maggie has actually come to like her and deeply regrets that one time she was a total b.itch.

Corrine loves Gideon but never understood him and all she wants now is him at all costs. She probably was thrilled those weeks she thought Eva was gone for good and she was getting him back. She could not even see the agony he was in and all she saw was he was spending time with her and making sure the world knew it. She has repeatedly deliberately messed with Eva's mind and tried to manipulate Gideon and as far as I can tell is still at it. I doubt she is going to drop her plan about that tell-all book even though Gideon said to her face it would hurt him too.

Magdalene vs Corrine is no contest. Corrine is the big loser here. Unfortunately she hasn't thrown in the towel.

  25. About the birthday, Sylvia said on the video that Gideon is a virgo (23 August – 23 September), and a passage from chapter 19 of CBY reads: "We agreed that he would begin in October, giving Waters Field  Leaman nearly a month's notice." From that, I understand the book ends in the beginning of September. Therefore, Gideon's birthday could be during book 5. If it had been during CBY, I think somebody would have mentioned it.

Could Gideon's birthday been sometime during those awful weeks of zero contact when he had to make Eva believe they were forever finished? Most of the story happens in the summer and they got back together just a few weeks before CBY. So if we're in early Sept. now then the really dark weeks around Nathan's death were in August.
