Sylvia- Did Gideon's father extort money from Dr. Lucas? Is that why he lied to Elizabeth about Gideon's abuse?

That is good to know. I know it raised a question for me and one other in our book club group, so I thought I'd see if anyone else had the same thought. That part of the story really got to me.

Am I the only one that felt that maybe Eva shouldn't trust the detective? I kind of felt like it might be a setup.
