Hi Mam2e, I agree with your assessment. I think that Eva may feel a twinge of romantic nostalgia when it comes to Brett but could it be that she also feels uncomfortable with her memories of how she degraded herself for love and that it was never reciprocated? I don't know if Eva is confusing guilt with attraction. Eva was never able to truly be herself with Brett. She was always what Brett wanted her to be and that's not love.  You and many other ladies in the forum are correct. Eva has many issues that she needs to resolve. I think that given time and space, the answers to her problems may fall into place. I think that if Brett tried something during a weak moment, Eva might remember back to when Brett and she kissed and then also remember just how devastated and hurt Gideon was when he found them. I think everything would fall into place for Eva in an instant.  Eva has had so much to deal with in her personal life that she hasn't even had a moment to breathe let alone process what has happened and how she feels about everything that has happened. That may happen for Eva when she is on the airplane with Cary or maybe it will happen when she's at her dads' place or maybe even still when she's with Dr. Travis. Or it could be one simple moment when she is on the phone talking to Gideon.  I really believe that everything will fall into place for her.  Or better still, maybe Brett will show his true colours, act like a jerk and then Eva can give him a good "smack across the chops" and dump ihim into the discard pile. Only Sylvia knows thus far and she's not telling.  What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi Mam2e, You are absolutely correct! I have no idea how a mother would feel or even begin to figure out what to do if she found out that her child was telling the truth about being se*ually abused for all those years! It wouldn't be just that, Elizabeth Vidal would have to then realize that she sent her son back to that pedophile and basically handed her son to him on a platter. I don't know if that is something Elizabeth Vidal would be able to overcome? What do you think? What does everyone think?

Hi Gabri, Have you noticed that everytime Gideon takes his time to speak and phrase something Eva automatically assumes something negative. I really hope that reaction will subside with time.

I was worried about Megumi not being at work that day. Megumi always went to work, so that behaviour is odd for thi characer.   I still can't figure out why Jean Franois would choose to meet with Eva. What woul he hope to gain from a meeting? Did he really meet her just to insult her?  I too, loved the ring shopping scene. It reminded me of when Eva shopped for Gideon's first ring...sigh! Love!

Hi Gabri, You make a good correlation between Jean Francois and a wounded animal. I hope that he looks within himself and straightens out his marriage. There must have been some reason Jean Francois married Corinne. Perhaps he can tap into those memories again.  They say that love is a choice, not just a feeling. Let's hope that he chooses to love his wife again and then take her back to France.Â

I agree with you. I have been saying that for a long time. Everyone keeps blaming their actions on everyone else. The only two who haven't really fallen into that pattern are Eva and Gideon.  So tell us Julie, how would you dish out the truth to this lot? I am all ears!

Hi Sharon, I hope what you and the other ladies have suggested. Hope that Jean Francois and Corinne get help. It will all depend on whether Jean Francois ever really loved his wife or not and vice versa.  I also thought about what you and the ladies had said about "touching" triggering past issues. What I wonder is whether there was something in Elizabeth's touch or Jean Francois's touch that put Eva on edge. What is that saying a dog will like 99 out a 100 people but that one person will walk up to the dog and the dog starts growlig and barking.  I wonder if we as humans sometimes discount our basic instincts and push away that uncomfortable feeling and dismiss that uncomfortable feeling with excuses (past abuse issues, differences in cultures, over-reaction etc.) instead of just listening to that small inner voice that says "Hey something about this person is not right". Do you know what I mean? What does everyone think?

Hi Sharon, I can see a scenario like that becoming a reality. I think that Jean Francois has a lot to be held accountable for (as far as his actions/or lack thereof towards his wife are concerned). I think that if Jean Francois is st*pid enough to go after Eva, I think that he will be in for a big surprise.Â

OH you would be SO surprised at the number of mistakes that can be made...turtle or not! :DÂ

I agree with you. I think that the marriage provides Gideon and Eva with the security that neither party will walk out on the other person just because they have a fight (or perceive it to be a really bad fight). I just hope that these two will learn to take each other into consideration first before they react. Â

Hi Sscrph, This is the second time that Eva had a reaction to someone touching her in too familiar way; the first time was with Elizabeth Vidal and the second was with Jean Francois. I don't discount when someone has that kind of (skin prickle reaction) reaction to being touched. I suspect that there is something more going on there, but again I don't have anything to go by other than Eva's initial reaction to meeting these people and my gut instinct. What do you think?Â

 Hi Jessica, I hope so. I really hope that Jean Francois fixes his marriage with Corinne. I think we the readers have had enough drama from these two. Let's hope their storyline is resolved sooner rather than later. Gideon isn't to blame for Jean Francois taking his eyes off of his marriage. He never chased after Corinne when she came to New York. He has to take a good look at himself and his actions and how he helped to create this problem.Â
