    Hi KiMa,

I am on a slow speed dial up and I think that my computer program which is Windows XP has something to do with how my messages post. When I hit the reply button, that exact code (what you mentioned) is what I see. I tried deleating it beforehand but when I post my message, that exact same code comes up.

Sorry for any inconvenience. I have no control over this. :)

Hey no worries. How is this for a wild thought....Parker killed Nathan. We were all thinking towards the end of RIY that she (Greaves) was there to see Eva but, what if she was actually following up on Parker.

Lol. This is me just stirring the pot. That would make for such an interesting twist, no?

In Blood and Roses, Gideon gave a reward to the "Parker family" and I was like ummmm what if Gideon knew Parker all along. Grant you his full name is Parker Smith but nonetheless.....he is skilled enough to place a deadly blow....

Again, this is me throwing stuff out there

    Lol

  2. Here is an important caveat. Whenever Gideon and Eva are within close proximity to each other, they just ooze love. Like you can see the love, desire connection oozing from them as they are that connected.

That isn't something you can fake and pretend and it's different from having chemistry with someone else re: Brett.

Both always sense when the other is around (multiple times Eva will get that tingle feeling and realize Gideon is approaching etc)

They cannot publicly hide their deep connection

  3. The book where Gideon's character was first mentioned is Blood & Roses... For some reason (maybe it's farfetched) I had this bizarre idea there is some characters cross over of some kind. Not sure where my thinking is taking me though

On another note, the latest snippet is delicious!!!

I also love the fact that Ireland is back!

  4. It's rather interesting but in one of her other books that I read (trying to remember the name) Gideon's character was mentioned briefly. Basically someone had stolen jewelry from him and he had hired a pro to find it.

I know I digress but it just dawned on me....

I believe that was the first time he saw her and at one point he clarified. He was actually on his way to a meeting or something and she just happened to be there and he just happened to be there and all the stars aligned.

I will try to narrow down the page where this was clarified.

  5. She could be hence the first snap shot. It could be EWY it's the start of present with them being together openly and looking back to those missing months and giving us a snapshot as oppose to picking up from there....

The characters have way other pressing things to combat and sort through and it's unnecessary to drag things out further re: Nathan so we could possible be getting a "snap shot" (lol) of what happened hence I maintain and continue to maintain that whatever happened to Nathan should logically be wrapped up rather quickly as dragging it out further is such a bore at this point!

  6. What has always struck me as odd ( the audio books does enable you to pick up on things you might hav missed as well) is at her office, Eva has photos of everyone dear to her with the exception of her Dad. She has a photo of her and Cary, her mom and step father and then her and Gideon of course but from the onset, she never have any of her dad.

I remember that being a bit odd when I read that portion and listening to the audio books, it definitely stood out as well

  7. Gideon violently attacked Nathan when Nathan visited him at the Crossfire building; Gideon subsequently violently attacked Brett for kissing Eva and you guys really think he will then just neatly deal with Nathan like that????

As the detective stated, there wasn't any disruption to the hotel room, and there was just once punch with an object to the heart etc.

There would be more violence if Gideon was involved in delivering the final blow. This was done by a professional

I continue to maintain Gideon did not kill Nathan......

  8. Hi KiMa --

I was trying to be silly about spelling and grammar on a simple misspelling issue. In hindsight I ought to have left the word grammar out -- and worked harder to convey the silly part about the spelling of Cary's first name. Many, many apologies. It's a bad habit folks who write for a living do.

May you ladies all throw dictionaries at me and chase me off the board if I ever turn into one of those annoying grammar cops. Or better yet, sic someone from Penguin Books on me, because there are folks there who edit for a living and can easily start pointing out my own errors. Er, maybe don't bother someone at Penguin, because they have better use of their time doing their crucial part of the process in getting authors' books out. Like Sylvia's.

It's meant to be all in good fun here, especially because all of us have a passion for the written word -- because we read. And we enjoy what we read so much, we discuss it. Book clubs rock.

I can't seem to get the smiley face function to work, but if I could, I'd send you a long line of smiley faces with one winking at the very end.

  9. And what if Nathan was killed by someone who we have not being introduced to??? Eva is not his only victim and that's not the first time he will try to extort money from folks. What if, his death had nothing to do with anyone in the book---> then this opens the door for his storyline to be wrapped up nicely.

Christopher Jr and Brett I feel there is much more interesting developments to be gained by probing that angle in terms of the mischief (in different ways) they can create. Re: Corrine/Brett fling potential will lead to some real interesting developments/turn of events no?! Lol

  10. Think about it this way, he couldn't be himself with Corrine previously thus he would never be that communicative with Corrine about anything to do with Eva. I don't see it happening.

Still re-reading both books far that matter with fresher pair of eyes so something may click.

Also, I am resigned to wait for June and see what direction the story may have taken as well. Lol

  11. Don't think Gideon is involved with the killing of Nathan and the whole speculation about fooling the cops

There are much larger issues he is potentially dealing with and honestly it would be a total betrayal if he would trust Corrine in such a huge way with matters that involve Eva.

Think larger issue between him (again nothing to do with Eva nor Nathan) is at play

  12. I honestly think she believes Gideon needed her or that Gideon does actually need her to deal with issues that had nothing to do with Eva or Nathan. If Gideon asks her to come back or she thinks he did, I do believe that's the only reason she willingly did.

I am going to re-read from that perspective. Like go over things from the point her character came into play.

I am pondering this a bit...

  13. It's sooo freaking weird that Corrine actually lives close to Gideon, like my God.

Also, why now has Corrine decided to come back after all these years of staying away. Why did she choose to come back now!!!! Something happened to make her feel "strong enough" to come back. Very intriguing.

Ps- someone commented about grammatical errors and I just want to point out that folks tend to think way faster than typing and ultimately despite the grammatical errors, we still understand the comments so I don't think its an issue. I for one have made significant grammatical errors

  14. And what if none of our beloved characters or the characters we know of thus far killed Nathan! What if, being the serial predator that he is, that another one of Nathan's victims ended his life??!

Point is, I think why he was killed off so quickly (yes, pun intended all around) was because he is not relevant. I honestly think that if he was that relevant that the showdown would have been between him and Eva and her putting her Krav Manga(sp?) skills to use.

I respectfully surmise that Nathan's life ending had nothing to do with any of the characters thus far. I thought at one point Monica, but I don't think so. I then thought he and Corrine met that time he went to the Crossfire and when Corrine looked all freshly sex flushed. I am still contemplating this but overall I think equally plausible is that Nathan was killed by someone else.

Someone like him, Eva was not his only victim. Hence why I continue to maintain whatever happened to him should be wrapped (maybe pun intended) up in as few sentences as possible, a couple of paragraps the most. I don't recall which forum this was stated but just wanted to comment on this a little.
