  1. Something just struck me about why Anne Lucas may have chosen Corrine as the collateral damage victim to get revenge on Gideon -- why choose Corrine to be set up for suicide instead of Eva?

Because Corrine left her husband for Gideon, and Anne probably believed Gideon had decided to marry Corrine once the divorce from JFG went through.

So Corrine got (Anne would falsely believe) what Gideon refused to give to Anne. As soon as Anne became willing to leave her husband for Gideon, Gideon rejected her and sent her back to her husband. In contrast, Corrine (Anne would falsely believe) was welcomed back with open arms by Gideon, who rejected his new girlfriend, Eva, and started "dating" Corrine in front of the world.

So Anne picked Corrine instead of Eva. Interesting, because Anne could have conceivably made a "run" at Eva, hearing from Terry Lucas all about the way Gideon acted when seated between Corrine and Eva at dinner -- a disaster that ended with Eva walking out on Gideon -- and also heard from Terry how awful Eva looked at the hospital the week Gideon started dating Corrine again. The Lucases run in Monica Stanton's social circles too, so the connection was there to attempt to reach out to Eva herself. See if Eva was "depressed" and if so start unhinging Eva.

Eva needs to watch her back now that she is (Anne believes) engaged to Gideon. Because now Eva does have an Anne Lucas target painted right on her back -- as evidenced by the mind-eph that Anne pulled (Gideon f**** Deanna a lot lie -- and if Anne treated Corrine, Anne likely heard that Gideon's "ex" Eva is very jealous and insecure.)

I'm convinced early in Book Four the truth is going to come out that Gideon actually married Eva -- and thus if Anne is as evil as we suspect, evil enough to engineer Corrine's death by suicide, then she's capable of almost anything.

  2. Ok I see it what you mean. Its also possible that the damaged child inside Gideon felt "dirty" for F(&^*** his rapists sister.

What I don't understand about Anne taking revenge on Gideon though is all he did was confront his attacker and threaten him with legal action if he did it again. Something I am sure most psychiatrists would recommend as a form of closure.

Hugh committing suicide was a result of his own guilt and a fear of reprisal, something someone who is, like you said, exceptionally skilled at recognising mental/emotional vulnerabilities would easily recognise.

Sure, as a sister she would probably want revenge on the person who hurt her brother. But as a psychiatrist, she must recognise that Hugh's own actions were the real cause of his death. If he'd chosen to never touch another child again, he could have lived a long life without fear of reprisal from Gideon.

I think Anne pursued Gideon for the same reason every other woman did - because he was HAWT. Her grudge I think began the day Gideon dumped her - same as all the others!

Your first point is a really interesting one I hadn't thought of before -- what was going through Gideon's mind as a grown man f****** the sister of a man who raped him as a child. A woman who, like his rapist, worked in the mental health field. No wonder Gideon felt "dirty" after each encounter.

I wonder whether the affair took place before or after Hugh's suicide. My gut says afterward.

    • The story strongly suggests the affair with Anne Lucas was relatively recent (past couple of years maybe?).
    • Gideon using Deanna one night to deflected Anne Lucas seems to be even more recent - perhaps even as recently as the spring? Deanna is pretty hot under the collar and I cannot see her patiently waiting years to get revenge. I think she leapt at the chance to throw a monkey wrench into Gideon's (supposed) plan to make a certain beautiful brunette Mrs. Gideon Cross.
    • Gideon started building his own fortune even while still college age. By age 20, he was rich enough to hire Angus as his fulltime driver/bodyguard. Only eight years later, he's the 25th richest billionaire in the world.
    • I cannot see Gideon waiting patiently for years to stop Hugh. As soon as Gideon became rich enough to be able to pay the best lawyers available to potentially destroy Hugh in court, I can see him immediately having his showdown with Hugh to warn Hugh he'd ruin him if he went into practice.
  3. Sylvia mentioned in an Australia interview that the goal is to have Book Four released before Christmas. As soon as the date is set in stone, there will be a big announcement.

In the same interview, she explained that Eva's issues were the focus of the first half of the Crossfire series (Bared, Reflected and the early part of Entwined). Books Four and Five will, like the second half of Entwined, focus on Gideon's issues.

  4. Interview with Sylvia on FB, worth a listen

    http://snd.sc/12WMgep

Love this interview.  I really appreciate that Sylvia thinks about her fans and is so accessible.

Two key things I heard in the interview:

    1. Books Four and Five very much are going to be about Gideon, just like the second half of Entwined really began shifting to his issues, now that Eva is on solid ground. Sylvia explained that the first two and a half books were focused on Eva's issues, and now we readers will see more about Gideon, whose issues were even bigger than Eva's.
    2. The goal is for Book Four to come out "before Christmas." Sylvia has been in contact with her publisher back in the States while on her current trip to Australia. As soon as the release date is set in stone, there will be an announcement.
  5. I had posted earlier that there is probably a resort photographer because they probably do weddings there a lot...

And cake -- they must have arranged for cake. How could they not? Champagne too!

Being silly here. But seriously, the wedding itself is described in just over one page of text. Shorter than most of the sex scenes.

The gown is described as a " ... sweet yet sexy romantic gown."

  6. I think its really a bit of both. Wanting to die because they just cant deal with things anymore, and really just trying to get attention. Ive seen the latter happen. Yes her dosage and the drugs she was taken probably made her very mentally unstable. But I think she was so emotionally distraught after being told of the engagement that she didnt want to live but also she couldve done it to get the attention. As a final shot of making gideon realize that by almost losing her that he couldnt live without her (I hope that makes sense... he wording isnt great lol). The two are plausible.

Corrine was mentally ill by the time she attempted suicide -- that's clear. Her behavior had become erratic. However, she wasn't psychotic. She could recognize what was going on -- and could recognize the consequences of her actions.

Previously, she tried something desperate aimed at making Gideon recognize he couldn't live without her. She broke the engagement in order to make him chase her, fight for her, fight for the relationship. It backfired. I think her hooking up with Jean-Francois -- a man Gideon knew and liked -- was yet another attempt, I believe, to try to make Gideon fight for her. She knew full well he was jealous and possessive.

I believe the same dynamic was going on when she took the pills -- doing something desperate aimed at making Gideon come to realize he couldn't live without her. Designed to make him "chase" her to the hospital, guessing (correctly) he'd feel guilty enough to go to her bedside. Perhaps hoping to have both Gideon and Jean-Francois there, both vying for her, and her "choosing" Gideon in order to further bind him to her.

Desperate, desperate, desperate. The wrong med(s) she was on merely made her more apt to go through with her desperate measures. It wasn't solely responsible for acting desperately. Corrine was acting desperate from the moment she decided to move back to New York. Within the first 24 hours of crashing into Gideon's life, Corrine: ambushed him and his new girlfriend while he was in his celebrity spotlight at a high society event, and she very cattily ephed with the mind of the emotionally-vulnerable Eva. She got in digs during happy hour, rudely monopolized Gideon at the dinner table -- and then went out of her way the next day to trick Eva into thinking Gideon cheated on Eva.

  7. Thank you for confirming my initial thoughts about the wedding pictures.  I wonder if pictures even exist from the secret wedding, if they do I am assuming they were taken by either Angus or the resort manager.

Gideon arranged every detail, right down to making sure the closet full of clothes he got for Eva for the weekend including a wedding dress. He had to have included a photographer -- how could he not want pictures?

  8. I don't know about this I don't think Gideon really talked too much in his previous sexual encounters according to Deanna... LOL!!

Someone like Anne would be skilled in drawing out info from him very carefully, one piece at a time.

Deanna was a one-night stand, and there wasn't even any post-coital conversation. He never even offered her a drink. In fact, he never even came with her -- he took that business phone call right in the middle of screwing her, and he told her to leave.

He really could be a total jerk sometimes. Eva was right about that.

  9. Eva and Brett's previous "relationship" ended by her running away from him. When he saw her that night at the 6/9 concert, she was doing the same. Brett didn't know she was now in a relationship. All he knew was the girl he'd been thinking about/missing for the last 4 years was standing in front of him. He finally had a chance to talk to her/try to get her back (something he'd been thinking about for a long time - he said so) and she was running again. He wasnt going to let her run again without talking to her. He kissed her to see if she still felt something and because he finally had her close enough to do so, again something he'd been dreaming of for quite some time!

As for Eva, no I don't think under other circumstances she would have initiated contact. She knows and has always been honest with herself that her previous relationship was bad for her, and I dont think she has any desire to be that person again. However, Eva is a damaged person, and her relationship with Brett is part of what damaged her. She wanted him so badly back then, he used her and she let herself be used. All she wanted 4 years ago was for Brett to want her the way she wanted him. It must have been quite a head trip to realise that what she'd wanted all those years ago was now a possibility - even though she is now in a better place and knows Gideon is the one for her, the hurt 20 (?) year old Eva inside of her is soothed and excited by the fact that Brett wanted her after all.

    Does that make more sense?

I believe that if Gideon hadn't taken Corinne to dinner the Monday after the 6/9 concert, Eva would never have seen Brett again.

He would have called on Tuesday from the lobby of the Crossfire and she would have simply taken the call, told him she was sorry about Friday, but she was in a relationship with Gideon and said goodbye.

Gideon created this whole mess by not being honest with Eva. She used Brett to get back at Gideon about Corinne, and not just once, several times. If anyone is to blame for Brett's actions its Eva and in part Gideon for making her act crazy.

However, after what happened to Corinne at the end of EWY, I think Eva knows what she has to do with regard to Brett. I also think he deserves an explanation face to face. I know Eva's hands were tied about being fully honest with him, but she could have just cut him off. She was the one who used him to make Gideon jealous!

Victor guessed that Eva's sexual issues (inappropriate men, promiscuity) were a sign of some deeper problem. He was furious Monica hadn't recognized something was wrong while the abuse was going on -- because fast forward six years to Eva being 20 years old, and she had serious issues in the men department.

It had been Eva's relationship with Brett (first mentioned in passing as a singer) plus her relationship with a tattoo artist who was scum and a cheater (Victor caught the guy getting a blow job from some other woman) that made Victor convince Eva to enter therapy with a counselor Victor knew was excellent working with troubled young people -- Dr. Travis.

So Eva very much was caught in a destructive cycle when she was with Brett for six months back when she was 20-21 years old. Debasing herself because of her low self esteem problem, which then made her feel even worse, and so more debasement -- lather, rinse, repeat. But finally even she recognized she deserved more than being someone he used for quickies in a bathroom between music sets at concerts. (I suppose that's some of the footage the guy with the sex tape captured.)

North Carolina was supposed to have laid to rest the Brett and the Corrine issues forever. Eva was honest with Gideon about how she had been a s*** back then and that's why she'd been with Brett. In turn, Gideon had recognized he'd been so totally wrong in how he'd handled trying to be friends with Corrine, how much that situation was hurting Eva. Until he'd seen Eva in Brett's arms, Gideon simply believed she wasn't handling the Corrine situation well. Over-reacting in other words. Until he was made to feel incredibly insecure and sick with jealousy.

So how -- HOW -- could he mere days later very, very deliberately make Eva feel jealous and insecure as a way to guarantee she'd act the part of being pushed aside. Yes, it was the one thing that would helped shield her from suspicion of having had anything to do with the Nathan killing. But now that Gideon understood just how awful that felt, he still did it anyway.

Kept it up even though she got angry enough to deliberately go to Brett. Kept it up even after he got an agonizing email from her saying she was in such pain he was with Corrine that she now hated the fact she loved Gideon.

It would appear now that Gideon met with Corrine that Monday evening in the final few days of Reflected in order to tell Corrine to her face he could no longer see her socially -- no longer spend time with her in other words. Hours before, he'd given Eva her promise ring back and told her "wait." Because over the weekend, Brett gave an interview where he said he'd reconnected with Eva (an obvious reference to them having gone out on a "lunch date") and he was seeking to get back together with her.

So what finally caused Gideon to decide to stop seeing Corrine, I believe, was the real fear that Eva was going to go to bed with Brett as revenge, because Eva believed he had resumed sleeping with Corrine again. From what she said to Gideon on the phone when she dumped him, it was pretty clear Eva believed he's taken Corrine upstairs to the f*** pad after the party at the hotel, and may have suspected that he did have a nooner with Corrine after all the day he found out she'd come back to New York -- to go back to him.

  10. Anne's pursuit of Gideon is kind of weird if she knew about what Hugh had done. First of all, she's clever enough to know that Hugh was the one at fault, not Gideon.

All Gideon is guilty of is confronting his rapist and threatening him with legal retribution if he does it again. Hugh's action beyond that (his suicide) stemmed from his guilt / fear of reprisal. Anne should understand that if she knows the full story.

Also, if Anne knew about Gideon's abuse and felt that Gideon was responsible for Hugh's suicide, F(&^*** him is a strange way to get revenge! ! There are plenty of ways to get revenge on someone that don't involve taking them to bed!

As for Gideon feeling dirty after his encounters with Anne, I took this to be because of his guilt over the fact that she was married. From his conversation with Eva about it in RIY, I got the impression that Gideon did not make a habit out of F(&^*** married women. I think this explains the different reaction between Anne and his other conquests.

You're right, the fact that Anne was married is one reason for him to feel guilty. But Anne may have deliberately manipulated that guilt -- much like Corrine certainly has manipulated Gideon's guilty feelings he's somehow to blame for her marriage not working out. The difference with Anne is that Anne would be exceptionally skilled at recognizing mental/emotional vulnerabilities and exploiting them.

Especially if Anne guessed correctly Gideon was sexually damaged by her brother. Gideon showered after every encounter with Anne but could never feel "clean" enough. So she made him feel "dirty" -- tapping into deep sexual shame?

As soon as Nathan left Gideon's office, having shown Gideon images of Eva being sexually victimized, the first thing Gideon did was take a shower. To our knowledge, that's the only time he's ever used his office shower. Trying to feel clean, because the damaged child inside him felt "dirty"?

Oh the irony of Gideon approaching Eva in public for the first time at the Times Square event, the world premiere of a music video based on the story of the relationship between her and Brett. Her appearing at the event with Brett would leave some people to think Brett is getting his Happily Ever After by getting "Golden" back.

But the event marks the public start of Gideon getting Eva back -- so some people might accuse Eva of using Brett to make Gideon jealous enough to go running back to her. Some people suspected (wrongly) he'd used Eva to make Corrine jealous enough to go running back to him.

  12. On the subject of Eva still working out her anger against Gideon for his having used Corrine -- and his celebrityhood -- to hurt Eva.

Bottom of page 225, her telling about the dinner reservation she made for her and Brett at Tableau One, the restaurant Gideon co-owns with his longtime personal friend, celebrity chef Arnoldo Ricci.

" ... I had to use your name to get on the (reservation) list, but Brett asked me out to dinner and I wanted us to go to a place connected with you."

When Gideon started going out with Corrine again, the first place he took her was on a dinner date to Tableau One, where he'd taken Eva just four nights earlier. He could have gotten a good table at any restaurant in New York, but he picked that one.

Eva is getting even by picking Tableau One, instead of any other good restaurant. Dropping Brett's name, she could have gotten a reservation at many other good places.

A paparazzi got pictures of Gideon having dinner with Corrine at Tableau One, thereby starting the media feeding frenzy about Gideon reuniting with Corrine. When Eva got even by taking Brett to lunch the next day, she harbored an angry impulsive hope a paparazzi would shoot a picture of her out with Brett, so Eva deliberately chose lunch at a restaurant where some paparazzi had photographed her and Cary having lunch, that started the rumors she and Cary were sexually involved.

Eva subconsciously hoping a paparazzi will get pictures of her and Brett out to dinner, and start a feeding frenzy of rumors they're dating? Getting even with Gideon for having indirectly humiliated Eva as having meant little to him, so now Eva is making it look like mere weeks later, she's already gotten over Gideon?

The second time Gideon took Corrine out, it involved something that "connected" Gideon and Eva -- the Kingsman vodka advertising campaign. Gideon took Corrine to a work-related PR event for Kingsman, an event by it's very nature was designed to get media attention, including photographers.

Eva is getting even by letting Brett take her to a Vidal Records corporate event, a PR event by it's very nature is designed to get media attention, including photographers. Guaranteed she and Brett will come under joint attention, because she's the girl in "Golden."

Gideon arranged the Kingsman the event behind the backs of Eva's agency, which was working only on the advertising campaign. He had his PR people set up the event, and never bothered to tell anyone from Eva's agency about it, despite the fact he had a meeting with Eva's agency mere hours before the event.

Eva getting even by making sure Gideon was going to find out second hand about her and Brett going to Tableau One, because she used Gideon's name to get the reservation. When was she planning to tell Gideon where she was having dinner? He's the one who brought the subject up, not the other way around.

Eva made it clear to Gideon that Brett asked her out to dinner, not the other way around.

Revenge for Gideon having asked his ex out.

From pages 13-14 of Entwined, Gideon and Eva were making love again for the first time, and she scratched and then bit him. "To punish as well as pleasure. To make him experience some small measure of what I had when he'd pushed me away."

From page 176 of Reflected, what Eva said when she figured out her motive for having kissed Brett in a place where Gideon was certain to come across them. "Because you deserved it! Because you should know what it feels like! How bad it hurts ..."

So now she's set things up to let Gideon know exactly how it feels to have to endure media coverage of her and Brett, rumors running wild that they're reunited -- and Gideon is history, little more than a summer fling. She's now back with Brett, who publicly wooed her (via the love song and at least one media interview.) Because Corrine "got him back" by publicly chasing him at a high-society event, and when Gideon set up the lie he was back with Corrine, Eva came across as just a summer fling, not someone he'd loved.

  13. I was actually wondering about Dr Anne Lucas as where I am listening to the Audio again, I am at the part where Gideon tells Eva about his abuser and said "It was not until I met you that I understood" "Dr Lucas loved his wife as much I love you and he would do anything for her, forgive her cheating and hide what her brother did to save her the embarassment of knowing what he did"

This statement from Gideon actually made me wonder if in fact Anne did know what her brother did as if Terry is hiding it from her how would she know.

Here's a case for Anne having eventually found out about her brother, Hugh - and about the Gideon connection:

    • Pedophiles frequently are repeat offenders. Rarely can they stop on their own after having been caught.
    • The whole family works in the mental health field, and through training and practice, their senses of observation would be especially acute. At least someone -- possibly several someones -- would have picked up on signs.
    • Hugh never ended up going into practice though (we know this because Gideon told Eva he's threatened to legally ruin him if he did). Was it is Hugh's family that had, even years before the adult Gideon did so, tell him essentially, "Don't even think about going into practice as a child psychologist"?
    • Among the many things the celebrity Gideon is known for is supporting charities for abused children. It is high society fundraising dinners for charities like those that Gideon used to go out on "dates" -- walking the red carpet with some stunning woman, most often Magdalene but sometimes others (per the dossier Cary assembled before Gideon took Eva on their first date to one such event.)
    • Anne began her pursuit of Gideon at a fundraiser.
    • Anne kept chasing him at such events after he'd thrown her onto the discard pile (he'd hooked up with Deanna because she was at an event where Anne was making him uncomfortable, so he used Deanna to deflect Anne.)
    • The Lucases move in similar social circles as the Vidals.
    • Terry also knew the Vidals professionally - because he was hired to examine Gideon as a child.

Two possible scenarios for Anne making the connection between Hugh and Gideon:

    • Terry became jealous when Anne started to show interest in Gideon. Perhaps he broke confidentiality and told Anne some half truths, including Hugh's "diagnosis" of Gideon as a disturbed young teen?
    • Elizabeth Vidal confided in Anne about her (Anne's) husband and brother having both treated Gideon as a child - not details, but just the fact the pair of them had worked with her son. Perhaps under the guise of seeking advice from Anne about possible ways to bridge the chasm that existed between Gideon and his mother?

With all this in mind, what if Anne's sexual pursuit of Gideon was really her revenge f****** him? And manipulating his psyche during their sexual encounters?

Gideon felt dirty after each encounter. He told Eva in North Carolina that no matter how long he showered afterward, he never felt clean. This is a departure from his cold shutting down after sexual activity with a long string of other women.

  14. All Dr. Anne Lucas did was crank up the crazy to an extreme level, if in fact Lucas messed with Corrine pharmacologically. Corrine already was desperate before Lucas got her hands on her, already willing to fight dirty and destroy Gideon's relationship with Eva -- would do anything to chase down Gideon again and make him hers'.

  15. I'm with you on this one Nrock. Brett hasn't actually done anything wrong at this point except persue an ex who may or may not be involved with someone else.

The first time they see each other in 4 years - he kisses her AND she kisses him back

When he calls on her a few days later - she invites him to lunch. When he asks her about her relationship status with Gideon she is vague (she is unsure of the answer herself as Gideon had dinner with Corinne the night before and avoided talking to her) although she says she is in love with Gideon.

The next time he calls - he knows for a fact (at least he thinks he does) that Gideon and Eva are finished and Gideon is back with his ex. He's sure he has a chance now, and Eva agrees to go out with him. Sure she says she just wants to be friends but she'll come around.

The night of the Golden event - this is the night that Gideon and Eva publicly reunite. As far as Brett or anyone else knows this is the first time they've spoken in weeks. From Brett's point of view, if Eva is willing to give Gideon another chance after what he's done, she should be willing to give him one too. And she must like him, she agreed to this date didnt she?

Up until the end of EWY, every time Brett & Eva are in contact, Eva's relationship with Gideon is unstable (at least publicly) Brett has every reason to think that she'll eventually get tired of the way Gideon treats her and she'll give him another chance.

I truly believe once Eva can finally be truthful with Brett, and tell him just how serious she and Gideon are (engaged/married) and he will bow out gracefully. And if he doesn't, I have no doubt that Eva will Krav Maga his Arse!!!

    ^^^ THIS

And not once -- once -- has Brett fought dirty.

Unlike Crazy Corrine and Devious Deanna.

Mad Magdalene did come out swinging at first, but when she figured out Gideon loved Eva and vice versa, she bowed out gracefully and has been on Team Gideon Deserves To Be Happy ever since.

Bummed Brett, I think, will turn into the same class act that Maggie did -- he'll know when to throw in the towel.

  16. If Monica had left the money in Nathan's apartment, Monica could have said it was paid to Nathan to leave Eva alone. Leave the country. Be honest with the police. There's no crime in that. Graves knows that Gideon killed Nathan not Monica.

That was probably why the police were still sniffing around Stanton. Sussing out his and Monica's alibis.

    • I think they may have suspected the Stantons hired a hitman, and that's one of the reasons they kept digging so hard. That had been Eva's first suspicion -- she asked Monica whether Stanton had arranged the killing, something Monica denied.
    • They may have initially suspected Gideon might have hired a hitman too. Eva also had wondered in passing whether Gideon might have had something to do with Nathan's death -- at the time, the thought tempered her anger and pain at having been "rejected" in favor of Corrine.
    • Graves finally figured out that Gideon did the deed himself instead of hiring out the job.
  17. I actually totally disagree with you about #3. When having a conversation about something as sensitive as a sex tape, Eva needs to be able to gauge Brett's reactions It is much harder to tell if someone is telling you the truth (especially someone you don't really know that well) when you cannot see their face and their instant physical reaction to what you tell them.

If it was me, I could never fully trust what Brett told me over the phone about such a sensitive subject. There would always be doubt in my mind as to his honesty. However if I could look into his eyes and judge his immediate reaction (shock/horror/guilt/shame) I would know the truth.

Just as Eva knew the truth the day she confronted Corinne at her apartment - "I saw the answer on her face. It was lightning quick, there and gone, but I saw it.

Both of those suggestions are absurd, she said."

If Eva had phoned Corinne that day rather than confront her face to face, she would never have been as sure of the truth.

You make a good argument -- but I think Gideon ought to be the one to talk to Brett about the sex tape, because Gideon is the one making absolutely certain its mere existence stays a deep, secret.

Gideon already had planned to talk to Brett about Deanna Johnson, making sure Brett kept his mouth shut to the reporter -- because Deanna actually did know the truth about the kiss and the fight that followed. I think he must have, based on how Brett brushed off Deanna later in the story.

Eva has no business trying to be friends with a guy who has made it crystal clear repeatedly he wants her sexually and romantically. She's fooling herself that it will work. She's even fooling herself about her own motives -- her unconscious motive is to punish Gideon for going out with Corrine again for two-plus weeks, letting the whole world believe they'd reunited. Eva is allowing herself to be connected publicly with Brett in a way that has people speculating she and Brett are getting back together.

And she's guilty of sending Brett mixed messages -- the exact same thing Gideon is guilty of having done with Corrine.

Let Gideon handle the sex tape. She needs to cut off all contact with Brett.

  18. Which ones would the police have had? The originals or copies?

As for the bracelet, could he have had a safety deposit box or locker?

Do the police even have the child p.o.r.n. -- or -- is all they have are the current pictures Nathan had of Eva, the ones he took of Eva stalking her through the streets of New York?

I don't think the cops have the p.o.r.n. If it was in the hotel room, Gideon would have seized it, I think -- but more likely, as soon as Nathan showed Gideon (and Stanton and Monica too) copies of what he had, all of them cooperated together to track down the location of where Nathan had the originals stashed, and they arranged for someone (Angus, Raul, Clancy) to steal the originals and destroy them.

  19. I also wonder what Graves meant by "We have the hit on surveillance footage" (meaning videotape of Yedemsky being killed by another gangster.)

Whose surveillance footage? Because investigating organized crime is the responsibility of the FBI, and it takes a court order signed by a judge in order to get permission to legally "bug" a location with audio and/or video surveillance devices.

So I think when Graves said "we have ...." she meant that she and her partner were supplied a copy of FBI video as well as a copy of the forensic photograph of the bracelet found on the gangster's corpse. The Feds are now involved.

I found the last sentence of the police interview session to be disquieting, where Graves told Eva, "We've done all we can. Where you go from here is up to you."

Does that mean the case is now out of Graves & Mincha's hands, because the FBI is investigating Yedemsky's murder -- the FBI is going after the killer they have video of "whacking" Yedemsky? So it's now up to Gideon and Eva to figure out how they're going to deal with the Russian Mafia connection? Because it's now out of Graves & Mincha's hands?

  20. I wonder where Nathan kept the sapphire bracelet during the years he was locked up as criminally insane. Same place as he hid his homemade stash of child violent child p.o.r.n. featuring Eva?

I also wonder what's become of the originals of the photos/video Nathan did have. It's possible they were in the hotel room, though it would have been incredibly risky for him to keep them on him. Did Gideon/Stanton/Clancy manage to get their hands on the originals in order to destroy them?

  21. Yea I think that would've sent her over the edge significantly... look what the "engagement" did to her... Imagine telling her that they are really married.

Or maybe "engagement" gave Corrine the idea she could still stop things, could still get Gideon to come back to her. The door wasn't slammed shut yet (in her twisted thinking, that is -- the door really slammed shut the day Gideon met Eva.)

  22. Not only did Gideon order up a private jet for Eva and Cary to go to Vegas for the weekend (early in Reflected in You) he insisted on going along on the flight too.

..... so he'll order up one of his jets for the San Diego trip, fly with Cary and Eva, let Cary get off the plane ....

.... then grab those soft red cuffs, tie up Eva in the plane's bedroom, and hold her hostage to his luvvvvvvvvvvv All Weekend Long ....

(just spinning a silly fantasy here) ;)
