I knew she said that Yes, she was on birth control.  I was just curious as to what type.  She never mentions taking any pills and sometimes she stays over at Gideon's and only has her purse.   Just curious that's all.

I would love to know what form of birth control Eva is on.  She never references it, but she does have regular periods.

well ladies, my pick for playing Gideon is Joe Manganiello.  He has the body, the hair and is really sexy.  sorry to say he doesn't have the eyes  (his are brown.)  but he will be appearing naked in True Blood when it continues on HBO Sunday 6/16/13 at 9 PM..   Take a gander at him....he is something to look at, his character is Alcide.  just my opinion.

 

thanks for the clarification about the cuffs, when reading I didn't think they were attached to anything other than Eva.  That was some sexy plane ride!!!

I have a question about one of my all time favorite scenes--the airplane ride to the Caribbean. 

 

When Gideon was introducing Eva to the cuffs he told her to close her eyes and use your safeword before you open you eyes if you have to.

 

Then he said "Let's be very clear about this, Eva.  Your safeword isn't for me It's for you.  All you have to say to me is no or stop, but just like wearing the cuffs makes you feel bound, saying your safeword will put your mind in the right place.  Do you understand?' 

 

Where is the right place he wants her mind that means no?  Just curious.

I am also curious if the cuffs were attached to something else (like the bed) besides to her wrists.  Later when she went to the bathroom and eyed the shower, she remembered she still have the cuffs on.  so were they attached to anything ?

I still don't understand why the "sparring" session Det. Graves wanted and had with Eva.....seems she wanted to take her frustrations out on her and probably did.

 

I wonder if Deanna wants a repeat performance from Gideon....when Eva suggested to throw a drink in his face or just tell him off she would feel better, Deanna replied  " I know what would make me feel better" !!!

I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but I read somewhere that Henry C. was gay (not that there is anything wrong in that), but it does put a damper on all the fantasising(spelling)    but he is nice to look at.    Maybe Superman will prove me wrong.

Chapter five was great.  But Gideon is a contradiction in terms.  When Eva was explaining the towels as a gift to him she said "me all hot and sweaty and desparate for you"  "ummm a fantasy I indulge in often"  then she said "do you think about me when you get yourself off?  he replied " I don't mas***te".  then later he said, "before you"  I stroked off every time  I took a shower, it was as much a part of my ritual as washing my hair" Pg 55.  Now aren't these two things the same?  if that is not mas****ting I don't know what is.   then she fusses at him for making her look like a sex maniac and my favorite quote  "If you don't like it, grow a gut or stop showering or something"  "or just say not, Gideon".

 

BTW  Gideon didn't use "elizabeth's* ring for Corrine's engagement ring, he went to a store and bought the first one she saw.

I was just making the observation that Gideon says one thing and means another.   Like when answering Dr. Peterson about his sex life, then about the not mas***te, then stroking everyday in the shower....contradictions in terms and actions.  Like saying we didn't break up, but then starting "dating" Corine....

Gideon really has some weird concepts of what constitutes sexual activity

 

1. He took women to the f*** pad on average twice a week, but as long as he stuck to using toys on them instead of using his "tool" it didn't count as sex. Um, Gideon -- all those women counted.
2. He admitted to bleeding off his libido by stroking off in the shower each morning, but that doesn't count as mast******? So what exactly did count as the M-word?

 

I think I can understand his odd standard regarding # 2 as having to do with his deep trauma issues. Not to say the guy's name yet -- because we're only on chapter 5 and his identify comes up later .... but from what Gideon had told Eva during their car-ride talk the day before Reflected ended, the abuser used mast******* as his opening gambit for manipulating Gideon, telling the kid hormones were to blame for the anger, and mast****** would fix the problem. Then he convinced Gideon that he was doing it "wrong" and so the abuser showed him the "right" way. It's how the hand jobs started.

 

I wonder whether #1 also has to do with the trauma issues. Gideon's abuser, he explained in Reflected, forced him to come every single time, the guy's way of manipulating his child victim into thinking he (Gideon) "wanted" it. So perhaps Gideon, when he began engaging in consensual activity as an adult, decided that if he didn't "come" with the woman, the encounter didn't count as sex.

 

What I loved about the love Gideon and Eva made in this chapter is that Eva set a role-playing situation that gave Gideon the experience of what an ordinary young guy would have: new woman he's seeing, has her over to his place for the first time, wondering whether it's the night they'll have sex for the first time -- how far will he get to go that first time (i.e. is he going to get really lucky by getting laid, or will they stick to kissing/petting that first time.) It's the sort of thing Gideon ought to have experienced, had life not damaged his sexual psyche and had he not ended up some hot celebrity billionaire who had women throwing themselves at him.

we need the time frame for Gideon's abuse.  His age for instance.  Maybe starting around 10 YOA  to when?  Cause he didn't get rich until I believe after turning 18 and went off to college?  Maybe they put him in boarding school and that is when the abuse stopped.  Oh so many questions and little or not insight.

 

Also the age of Anne Lucas and Gideon when they had their fling.  Don't think she treated Corrine, and maybe the same "redhead" that Cary "danced" with?

What is up with Dr. Terry and Anne not attending social functions together? Surely if he were there Eva would have noticed him.

well, Eva did say she didn't see his white head anywhere when she was scanning the crowd.

I was wondering how Gideon had texted Angus when both he and JFG were flexed cuff and taken off by security (unless they were cuffed with hands in front)  He should have texted Eva also. 

 

If Anne Lucas is the redhead flirting with Cary at the last dinner, she has a serious problem or a really bad marriage with Terry Lucas.  She puts the moves on Gideon years earlier and then tries again with Cary....  Don't see how she is connected with Corrine, but she could be...

 

I did like the quote from Eva in the 4 or 5 chapter when they had their first "date" in the apartment....when Gideon sayed he had a full time job keeping her satisifed, and she said she is not a sex maniac....she says "don't shower, get a stomach or just say NO..."

I still wonder when the abuse stopped for Gideon.  I think he was about 10 when it started... When he complained to his Mom and an investigation was started, did the abuse stop or what.  so confusing.  then Gideon said he told Hugh (after the statue of limitations ) that he would financially fund any civll or criminal lawsuit.  so that had to happen after he got some money (that would be after age 18)  then the suicide happened....

 

also, what was the point in Det Graves sparring with Eva....?  taking out frustrations that she can't win the case?  that didn't make much sense.

 

Still mad aboat Victor and Monica, also the Bret situation.  He is dangerous to Eva (who still thinks he is sexy as h e l l )  He will try something.  She shouldn't go to SD only with Cary....

 

Gideon was always in control.  Asking about birth control was one of the first questions he had for Eva at the apartment the dayof the advocacy  dinner.  He would be suspicious of Corrine if she tried to pin it on him.

wondering when Gideon's abuse ended.  He was around ten when the shrinks were called to the house.  Did it end when an investigation/examination was done by Terry Lucas.  Was Anne, Elizabeth's shrink and Hugh the doctoral student?  this was confusing

 

agree  Eva should stay away from Bret even if she just wants to be friends;  Remember she freaks when Gideon says he is only friends with Corrine.  Looks like the pot and the kettle are both black.  Especially when Bret speaks sexually to her about how it will feel when he is inside again.  Taking him to the apartment was WRONG, what would she do if Gideon had taken Corrine/ Deanna to their apartment or his penthouse.

 

Was dissappointed with Monica and Victor.  Yes, why did they go back to Eva's apartment not a hotel, and why did she need a change of clothes.

my question....If Gideon moved into the next door apartment the week during Cary's stay in the hospital, did he stay only at the penthouse for the following weeks or at the apartment to be near Eva?  That is confusing...Liked it when she asked, "where did you get the suit?  I know you didn't have it in your pocket"

I live in Virginia, USA.   I know the website and what the cover should have lookded like.  I just wanted to have some fun and view the "real" thing.  Got my copy 6/4 and I have never read a book in one night!!  Couldn't put it down, thoroughly enjoyed it, can't wait to start reading all the posts and most of all I can't wait for book 4!!!

Did we ever find out in Bared To You   When Eva left the f**k pad and Gideon found her in restarant and said " I can't be seen in public now"  why couldn't he be in public.  and the only woman was his Mom in apartment (aside from help) he didn't particularly care for his Mother, why would he let her visit?  My Walmart's book section is lously, hence no Entwined With You.  Have to wait til Tuesday.  I wonder how Sylvia is taking the news that her book got out early?

not sure if this is the heading, but....concern why Elizabeth didn't change Gideon's last name to Vidal from Cross.  Maybe they did and when he came of age it changed it back to Cross because of what happened to him in their household!

Her mother should have told her that she saw Nathan that day after lunch at the Crossfire.  No one should have kept Eva in the dark that much.  She had a right to take matters into her own hands.  Secrets don't help anyone.

 

I think Gideon starts leaving Corrine at home more often.  He does take Ireland to the Vidal Records thing (in the snippit with Bret)  Maybe from now on Ireland will act as escort.

Now that is what I call a picture!!  A big smile on my face, finally a happy picture after the depressing ones for the last few days.  Day 6 I believe were two guys, cause if you look closely you see hair on the front person's chest.  and those awful fingernails of the other person.

 

question, aren't the pictures that Penguin are putting out just count down days and the snapshots (from Sylvia) refer to chapters?  but kudos to Penquin for 5 days to go!!  tomorrow another snapshot photo and then June 4!!!!

As powerful and wealthy Gideon has become, maybe the abuse has been taken care of....I would be surprised to find the person out and about with no repercussions for his past actions.  Look how upset he got over Eva worried about something leaking out about her.  Maybe he is rotting in prison now as we speak.
