Hi Rogue I'd say Deanna's not likely to have forgiven Gedeon. She wants to make Gedeon regret the way he treated her. As Deanna knows he doesn't care about what she might do to him. I think she's turned to more devious ways to accomplish her revenge. I belive she's digging up on both Gedeon and Eva to make an epic exposé on Gedeon

Hi Julie, While reading that scene I was hardly breathing,, then a liberating "Yessssss!!!!!!" escaped me,  followed by such a profund anguish at the sight of Eva crying on Gedeon's couch.... What an emotional whiplash!!! I don't need to say this is why I love this book so much, do I?

Hi Whiteybitey  I think that dear Lizzie simply can't stand to lose her son to a cop's daughter. She doesn't like to be called out on the abuse because perhaps she still believes that nothing happened to Gedeon and Eva is only putting "fat lies" into his head  Moreover, I have a nagging sensation that it's Lizzy again who might be feeding Deanna's hatred of Gedeon, because when she (Lizzie) confronts Eva at the dinner gala she says "I know about you and that lead singer. I'm on to you.", which isn't something you say if you just happen to read the gossip column... you say that if you're up to something!!!

Hi sscrph once again luck is what prevents Gedeon from really f***ing up everything. He insists on marrying Eva because he doesn't know how to put up with the Brett situation. With their new status comes a new awareness; Gedeon says : "It's starting to go away........ The worry. It feels safe, doesn't it? ...... Settled. it's a good feeling." Now that their bond is officially indissoluble (albeit a secret one) they both feel stronger, and hopefully will be able to keep their enemies away.

Chapter 6 is also great because we see New Eva beginning to deal with Same Old Monica. At last!!!!

Good morning from warm, sunny Italy!!!  My favourite line in Chap. 6 is Gedeon's: "You can refrain from grinning like the Cheshire cat."  I really loved the moment Eva begins to deal with Gedeon's "darkest spots" She's so sweet and caring, and only willing to please him in any way he needs her to.

Hello ladies!!! Anne Lucas is a psychiatrist. Gedeon himself says as much when Eva is looking for her at the dinner gala at Cipriani's.

Technically speaking, they are the same. But they are quite different emotionally. When you ma******te, you indulge in pleasurable sensations, while what Gedeon describes is simply scratching an itch!!
