  1. Well, EMOTIONALLY RETARDED, SUFFERED A PERSONALITY TRANSPLANT, CHARGED OF BEING A NARCISSISTIC SOCIOPATH...... it's a miracle to me he's still alive!!!
  2. What if the pills are Viagra, the blue pills? Can you imagine an exhausted Gedeon giving up his vitamins (those Cary asks Eva about in Chap. 15) and turning to something "stronger" instead?
  3. They don't, actually. Eva didn't tell Cary the whole truth about the Vegas trip arrangement, and Cary didn't tell Eva about Six Ninth lead singer being Brett. These "omissions" may be trifling but show they sure can keep secrets!
  4. I'm under the impression that Gedeon handled the Nathan issue like a small child would: he rashly takes the easiest way out and removes the obstacle, regardless of the consequences people around him will have to suffer for.  His doing away with Nathan can be compared to a small child's throwing anything upsetting him out of the window. Doesn't Gedeon bother about Eva's hurt AT ALL? If so, he's not the wonderful man Eva thinks he is. He has to grow up emotionally indeed!!!
  5. HI from stormy Italy!! reading through your posts is always such a treat!!!!!  I have two picks from Chap. 13.  The first occurs at the now customary Wednesday's lunch and it's Steven's: "I'm sure, it's tough living in the media spotlight.... But then you have to kinda expect it when you're a juggling rock stars and billionaires."  The second is Gedeon's "Don't be afraid", which really made my heart melt.Â
  6. Sorry, I didnt mean to double-quote... another hiccup-issue?
  7. Â Â Thanks a lot I'll look for it too!!
  8. We have two Remembrance Days to honour our soldiers who died in WW1 and WW2. They are not official holidays, but in such occasions people from our Government attend functions and lay flowers at the memorials (unfortunately not poppies, which is so romantic!!)  We have St. Anthony's Day (June 13) here, which used to be a holiday day.
  9. Great line indeed! i do love it too,
  10. Or an Espresso!!!
  11. I love mystery!! what writer are you talking about? I'm reeealIy looking forward to laying my hands on Caroline Graham's books starring Chief Inspector Barnaby. Although there is always a rerun of the series on TV, I still can't find the books.
  12. I'd never give up buying hard/paperback copies, not for worlds!!
  13. Here's my picks in Chap. 13:  1) I reached out and touched his shoulder, only to have him jerk away as if I'd burned him. More than anything else, his rejection of my touch wounded me deeply. (I've been there... It hurts like h.e.l.l!!)  2) Gedeon's personality transplant  3) "You've been my muse for the last few years, Eva. Because of you I've written the best material the band's ever had."  4) "There's no chance. None."    "Prove it."
  14. I'VE GOT IT!! :) My new e-reader is laying here beside me, charging batteries. I can't wait to go on the Internet and preorder my precious copy of EWY and to download BTY and RIY as well, of course. Wish me luck, girls!!!
  15. I thought Eva could put up with as little s*x as she coud get in NC.... for the time being!
  16. Hi LN! you're always so thought-inspiring!! I believe your reasoning proves I was right in thinking that Monica's "You do know better" (page 210) was referring to their present situation, not to Eva's past, as Eva wronlgy assumed.
  17. I'm thinking the lovely house in North Carolina.
  18. Thank you LN, great job, always appreciated !! I'll go to bed much more better knowing the ways of the American laws, how many can claim as much? lol
  19. I believe he says something Monday morning (day 10 after Gedeon: Round 2). Eva, Megumi and Will are back from lunch. Gedeon joins them in the lift. When they are left alone in the lift, Gedeon simply says she looks beautiful. Like the average man, he is not that observant!!!
  20. Naughty girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll reread the shower show again, and again, and again,,,, until I fall asleep and hopefully go on dreaming the scene. lol
  21. I'm still trying to figure out my deep love for SD's books! I used to be into fantasy or comic novels. One lucky day, I gave my Mum FSOG books as a gift and she didn't want to lend them to me because of their s*xy scenes (she's 72). So, I ended up buying my copies in English and had to read it "like a thief in the night". A whole new world had opened up before my eyes, though!!!!! Then I saw BTY advertised on tv and BANG it was love at first paragraph. Now I can't imagine a day without reading the books anf the posts. Hopefully I'll never recover!
  22. Hi AMC, It took me ages to regain my usual breathing rhythm!!! Calling him gorgeous is an understatement....)
