Well no wonder there is going to be 5 books. If Eva is waiting until Cary is happy and in a good place until she has her HEA its going to take forever. Cary in a lot of ways is more screwed up than Eva.

I don't hate Monica I think she was self absorped and neglectful but I honestly believe she loves Eva very much. Just has a funny way of showing it because she obviously was not given the love she needed growing up. I think Eva never showed signs of the abuse that her mom would have noticed. Eva said the help knew and that makes sense because they did the laundry and probably saw blood and semen stains. They would have noticed Eva's behavior when Monica wasn't home. But child abuse victims become very good actors because they are terrified of their abuser. I had a friend in 6th grade who no one knew had been sexually abused by her grandfather for years. I spent the night at her house, went to family dinners and bbq seen countless interactions between her and her grandfather and never suspected a thing and her parents didn't either the only reason anyone found out is my friend's little sister told when the grandfather tried molest her as well.

Corinne probably has what's known as dual citizenship (she is considered at citizen of both countries)which she would be prefectly eligible for as a native born American married to Frenchman.

I don't think Gideon contacted Giroux. But maybe Giroux contacted Gideon and asked point blank if he(Gideon) and Corinne were back together. Gideon saw this as oppurtunity to get rid of Corinne and told Giroux the truth that he(Gideon) wasn't with Corinne and had no plans of getting back with her because he doesn't love her. Probably Gideon told Giroux that if he came to NYC it would show Corinne that Giroux isn't "indifferent" towards her like she thinks. So hopefully Corinne gets back with Giroux and moves back to France so Eva and Gideon don't have to worry about her unrequited love any longer.

I think you might be right. One of the snippets where Eva's talking about their trade she is his and he is hers and she protects whats her. Made me think they might be married.

I think we are all in agreement that Eva would have been much better off if Victor had raised her instead of Monica.

hopefully if there is a confrontation between Monica and Victor he'll put that bi*** in her place. And maybe finally make Monica understand that not everything is about her and she has been a s***ty parent to Eva.

I think( well I hope) Victor will investigate Nathan once back in California. He's not stupid he has not only cop but a father's intuition he knows Eva was seriously freaked out and he wants to know why. Once he figures out what Nathan did to Eva hes going to be furious but I don't think he will confront Eva. As a cop he will know that as a rape/child abuse victim Eva might shut down and not talk to him if he confronts her. I think he will come back to NYC and go straight to Monica and Stanton basically demanding info and an explantation why he wasn't told about his daughter. I definitely think he will blame Monica for neglect but more importantly for lying to him. He will feel betrayed because if he had known he could have helped Eva more( even though he has done far better than Monica since he was the one that got Eva into therapy with Dr. Travis) but he will feel it just wasn't enough. I think Victor will contact NYPD and Detective Graves to find out where the murder investigation stands. Graves most likely will tell him her therory about Gideon. Victor will go to Gideon to see if its true but will figure Gideon won't tell. I think the conversation between Gideon and Victor will be in hypotheticals. Gideon won't openly admit to anything and will just answer Victor hypothetical questions with hypothetical answers.

Same here its been torture. I don't know if the snippets and clues make it better or worse but I do love talking to y'all and everybody's theories.

Just saw the post about Sylvia clearing up how to pronounce Eva. Now I feel like I need to go back and re read all previous chapters saying her name properly.

Well Eva knows spanish because of Victor and its mentioned that her name came from Victor's mom. Well in spanish "e" are pronounced as an "a" would be so I guess it would make since to pronounce it Ava but I always said Eva with an "e" before reading the post on here.

The control issue obviously comes from the abuse they both suffered through. Eva needs control and loves to be on top but by her own admission she loves when Gideon is on top. Lets say Eva had never been raped she would never had these issues with sex. I think she finds it refreshing to trust someone enough to let Gideon take control and knows Gideon will take care of her. Its like she said that Gideon is erasing Nathan's touch and giving her back her body. But she loves Gideon so she wants to willingly give her body Gideon and be his completely. Before Gideon Eva's body was her own and she allowed men to have sex with on her terms. Gideon issue with control is he needs Eva to trust him enough to give herself over to him completely and in return he makes sure she is satisfied and isn't selfish.I think Gideon's problem with the limo even though he was extremely turned on was that Eva wasn't submitting to him and viewed that as though she didn't trust him. I don't think Gideon will ever get over his need for control even with therapy because of his abuse he probably feels emasculated when he isn't able to control the situation. I think the times Eva is on top are to give her comfort and sometimes to give him piece of mind that she still wants him but he's always topping from the bottom.

About the watch snap shot my very first thought was the Rolex that Eva mentions repeatably that her mom and Stanton gave her. I thought maybe the chapter was about Monica, but after reading other's theories I guess I kinda of talked myself out of the possibility.

I like Henry Cavill for Gideon, Alex Pettyfer for Cary and Hayden Panettiere for Eva. I haven't mentally cast the rest of the characters yet.
