Hi Peachies, It is the only confirmed time that children have to concede that their parents had s**. The rest, they won't believe or they refuse to believe.

One Chapter A Day - Re-Read Of Bared and Entwined
GiGi replied to LN Cronan's topic in The Crossfire Saga
Hi everyone, I just wanted to mention that during the charity dinner that Gideon allowed Corinne to take up his time and that it was Gideon himself who was giving all of his time to Corinne and not Eva. No one put a gun to Gideon’s head; no one forced him to spend all of his time with Eva. My question is why overcompensate with Corinne if he was truly interested (or beginning to fall in love with) Eva? It doesn’t make sense.  If Gideon had put Corinne in her place from the very beginning then none of this would have happened. If Gideon had told Corinne that he was out on a date the night he and Eva had s** in the limo and that he would talk to her in the morning, then I don’t believe that things would have escalated to disaster that they turned into.  Gideon was the one who was in control of this entire situation and he was the one who was giving one woman false hopes and the other one wrong signals. Ultimately I think that Gideon bears a lot of the responsibility in what had been going on. What does everyone think?  -

Hi MrsCrossfire, Thanks for clearing that up for us. We can now cross off that little tidbit off of our list!  -

Hi Jls1216, I am a fan of the Magdalene and Arnoldo hook-up too! I hope that Magdalene and Eva become friends. I guess it will depend on whether Magdalene will be capable of givng up the "Gideon ghost" or not. Time will tell. -

Hi everyone, I had a quick question; who escorted Magdalene to the fund raiser? Anyone have any thoughts about this? Comments? -

Hi Kirsten, I think that if anyone ever got pay-back (for their nasty actions) in this book it was Magdalene. Could you just imagine how mortifying it must have been for Magdalene to realize that Gideon; a man whom she was clearly in love with, viewed a tape where Magdalene was confessing her inner most secrets and desires about a man who doesn’t even know she exists in that way, all the while she is getting screwed (literally) by that man’s brother, who had no other interest in her other than for her va***a? I think it would be horrifying, to say the least.  I don’t think that Gideon could have said anything else to her, chastise her or scold her, or make her feel any worse than she already did in that moment. In essence Magdalene got payback from another source. What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Hi Kirsten, When Eva approached Gideon at the charity event and said that his speech was the highlight of the evening, in a way she wasn't wrong. Up until Gideon gave his speech, Eva was having a rotten time and she was busy beating herself up emotionally because she couldn't figure out what had gone wrong in the limo.  I also don't that she could have said anything about the limo in front of everyone without raising suspicion. So she did the next best thing. She complimented Gideon on his speech and made tracks to get the heck out of there. What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Ciao Gabri, I think that on some level, Cary may be feeling a little bit threatened by Gideon's presence. Up until then, Cary always had Eva to himself. He and Eva were best friends and I am sure that on some level Cary is aware of how much Eva and her family have been helping him financially and emotionally.  I think that Cary would have seen that Gideon (even for all his trouble and emotional turmoil) must have been very different from all the other men that Eva ever dated. In some ways I think that maybe Cary may have started to worry about his financial future and his well-being.  I am sure that Cary wants his friend to be happy but I think that Cary also worries about what will happen to him if Eva and Gideon get married. Thus far, Cary's career hasn't taken off and he hasn't been able to successfully maintain a relationship either. Eva and her family have been Cary's sole supporters. Surely those things are not lost on Cary.  What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Hi Julie54 & Gabri, It is funny that the first thing that both Eva and Gideon went to the most extreme reaction. Neither of them took a moment to step back and take a more prudent approach to the situation they faced. Each of them thought the worst and reacted from that premise which is odd if you really stop to think about it.   Could Sylvia have been leaving the readers a clue as to just how screwed up these two characters are? I would think that if something went wrong, that each person would give the other the benefit of the doubt. What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Hi Julie54, How uncomfortable would a situation like that be? I could imagine Angus saying to himself over and over: “I must get the limo sound proofed, I must get the limo sound proofed…I must get the limo sound proofed…sigh!†-

Ciao Gabri, You make a good point about Gideon and Cary’s looks. I wonder if Sylvia intended that purposely or whether it was just a coincidence. Somehow I don’t that that coincidences occur with these books. -

Ciao Gabri, No worries. I didn’t think that you were making excuses for Monica. I just find her character surprising. It seems that the more time that passes, the less Monica seems to learn from her mistakes and how to properly parent a child or even how to be a proper parent to a child. It boggles my mind!  In all fairness to your posting, the assumption could have been made that Monica was doing the best that she could at the time (but we the readers know differently because we have read both of the books).  You make a very good point about Eva learning to flee from her mother. I never would have connected Monica leaving one marriage to go directly into another, having an effect on Eva.  What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Hi Julie, I agreed with someone who had suggested that the "red haired" was Anne Lucas. It wouldn't have surprised me that she would have attended a charity function that Gideon was going to be at. There was never any mention made as to whether Dr. Lucas's marriage survived the affair. So Anne Lucas may also have attended the charity function to "stick it" to her husband. What do you think? What does everyone think? -

Hi Andie, Welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy yourself! -
Hi Julie54, I just keep thinking about what Mrsmajessick said in that whether Gideon and Eva were dating at the time of Nathan’s murder wouldn’t really make a difference. They had only been going out for a very short time (only a matter of weeks) and as such that might not even be considered as a motive for killing someone.  Eva also had her indiscretion with Brett when she kissed him in the parking lot of the arena (which was witnessed by oodles of people) and as such would have proved that this was an on-again/off-again type of relationship.  What I find most interesting is the fact that Detective Graves said if there was any actual, tangible proof (blood, fingerprints, video tapes, eye witnesses, etc.) of Gideon committing the murder. It will be interesting to see if Sylvia addresses that in June. What do you think? What does everyone think?
-
Good morning Ms. Julie, I hope you have a wonderful day at work! We will catch up later lady.
-
Hi Donnad, No worries. I don’t think everyone hates cops per say, they just kind of think that Detective Graves sucks large!!  I think it is her lack of honesty and get “Gideon†at any cost attitude that many people, myself included, are turned off by. Detective Graves is using Eva’s vulnerabilities against her and it doesn’t sit well with me. I am sure that your brother and father did/are doing a great job of protecting the city and all of its citizens.

Hi Kirsten, You had better dish all the dirt when you come back from the Meet & Greet girl! We will all be waiting with baited breath!! Quick, quick, sister, start preparing your questions!! You’re going to have to be ready!! Â

Hi Caroline 628, I think it was a rotten thing to do to Eva by not letting her know that Nathan was back in town. The first she heard about Nathan being in town was when detective Graves interviewed her on Friday night. She must have felt like the rug was being pulled out from under her. It was a lousy thing to do to her and everyone who purposely kept her in the dark was responsible. What do you think? What does everyone think?Â
-
Hi Caroline628, The thing that I learned to be very careful of is to watch what Sylvia says. Sometimes she answers a question directly which means she can be held to her answers. Sometimes she quotes things in the book (which can leave room for interpretation because we are not her and we can interpret what we have read differently that what she intended) and sometimes she just smiles… (Which means good luck to you I am not answering…maybe ). What do you think?  What does everyone think?  Â

Hi Everyone, Sorry I forgot to post this addition:  P.S. I will be waiting by my mailbox for the wedding invitation of the century!!!  P.S.S. I hope Gideon bought the house in North Carolina and that there lots of guest rooms so we can all come for a visit!!

Hi everyone, I think that Eva Cross has a nice “ring†to it…no pun intended. I do however wonder how the intended happy couple would deal with the entire wedding “thing Would they elope, get married at city hall or have a church wedding? I personally don’t see either Gideon or Eva getting married in a church. Neither person strikes me as terribly religious or that into tradition. I also couldn’t see that many people being invited to attend this function.Gideon and Eva eloping might be nice if they got to jet away to some tropical destination. What would become of Cary though? Do they elope with Cary and a few friends in tow? Or do they do it Vegas style and go for a quickie chapel style wedding? What about city hall? Do you see Gideon, the richest man in New York City getting married at some dingy government office to his beloved Eva? I personally don’t think so. Then there would be the matter of whom would be invited to the wedding; Gideon, Eva, Monica (can stew over what wedding dress Eva chooses to wear or not wear and then can sit in a corner and look at some pretty diamond encrusted bobble that Stanton bought her to amuse herself with ) , Stanton (can pull out his wallet and pay for this shindig gratefully knowing that Eva will no longer be his problem but Gideon’s instead ), Cary (can flirt and/or shag someone from the wait-staff and hopefully find his happily ever after), Ireland, Arnoldo (since he has a restaurant he can cater the event or can host a nice quiet reception ), Angus (will keep his gun in tote and protect everyone ensuring that nothing else can go possibly wrong ), and Victor (will finally have a clue as to what kind of stinky mother Monica was/is). Other than that I am not sure that I see a whole lot of other guests. What does everyone think?

Hi Golfergirl, I completely agree with you. We are going to be waiting and waiting and waiting….holy crap!!! Is it ever going to be a long wait? Sigh! Well at least we have each other in the forum and our loved ones (if we haven’t driven them crazy with all of our theories and plot developments) to keep us company until then.

Hi Julie54, It is an all-around sh** situation. I wish that Gideon wouldn’t have taken on Eva’s baggage. It isn’t healthy. It also doesn’t help Eva. I think that’s one of things that they are going to have to work on as a couple though (and we the readers get to read more about that subject if Sylvia chooses to do so).
