  1.   Hi Julie, It would stand to reason that Gideon would keep a protect eye on Eva. You are absolutely correct in that Gideon is a very wealthy man who has probably ruffled more than a few feathers while building his empire and as such anyone around him could potentially become an inadvertent target for some crazed business rival. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  2. You guys are too hillarious!
  3. Hi MrsCrossfire, No more snippets?! That is like a stab to the heart!! Urg!!! How are we supposed to go on without our snippets???!!!Â
  4.     Hi Julie, I don’t think that it is mandatory for mental institutions to inform the victims or survivors of these individuals that they are going to be released. I think that in some strange way, that because of the patient’s right to privacy, that information may be withheld purposely.  I think that it may also depend on the State. I think legally, Nathan paid his debt to society and as such wouldn’t be obligated or required to inform anyone of his whereabouts. The state would no longer have a legal claim on Nathan. He wouldn’t be on parole and could go about his business any which way he pleased.  The laws may be slightly different between Canada and the US, but I don’t think that they are that different. What do the U.S. ladies in the forum think? Maybe we could have a lawyer or two or three, jump in with their expertise.
  5. Hi Jls1216, I don’t think that Arnoldo cares about Gideon’s relationship with Eva, one way or another (I don’t know if men actually discuss or jump to conclusions about their friend’s relationships). If he is Italian then he might have a little more compassion for Eva. Italian men tend to be a little more passionate and a little more forgiving of women who may act impulsively. Fingers crossed.  Do you think that Arnoldo dislikes Eva, or do you think that maybe he would wait before making a judgment about Eva and Gideon’s relationship? What do you think? What does everyone think?
  6. Hi Julie, I think that if and when Victor finds out about Eva’s rapes, I suspect that all h*** will break loose! I couldn’t even imagine being a parent and being kept in the dark about something so serious and severe having happened to my child. I would then be looking at the other parent wondering why in the “HE** WAS I NOT INFORMED ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON???† Somehow I think that everyone within a 10 mile radius would get an earful of how Victor would feel. I also think that Victor might have mixed emotions about Nathan’s murder. I am sure that he would be glad of Nathan’s demise but sad that he wasn’t the one to end his life. I could see a reaction like that as being very normal for a parent. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  7.   Hi Sharonm745, I think that many members in the forum don’t buy that Monica act. If she had been around her daughter more; washed her underwear, gave her nightly baths, watched how Eva interacted with Nathan, or any of the other million things that a mother does for her child then she would have seen at least some of the physical and emotional signs of sexual abuse (I listed them in earlier postings for those who may be interested).  The fact that Monica noticed nothing tells me that she was completely either out to “lunch†or that she shifted the responsibility of raising her daughter onto her household staff (which would have been wrong as well). At the end of the day, it would never be the staff’s responsibility to let Monica know about what was going on with her Child. Monica was the mother and it was her responsibility to see to her daughter’s welfare and safety. Needless to say Monica was and is a super crappy mother!  I could have bought the whole Monica wanting to make amends with Eva thing except for the fact that at every single step and turn, Monica has continued to lie to her daughter and had kept her daughter in the dark about Nathan’s appearance in New York. Monica knew and maybe saw for herself; the videotapes and photos of Nathan brutally raping and torturing Eva, why on this blessed loving earth would Monica not let her daughter know that her life was in danger?  Monica and Clancy both saw Nathan wandering outside of the Crossfire building before his murder and still Monica decided to say nothing. Why? Then after Nathan was murdered, Eva found about Nathan from two strange detectives. I could only imagine it would be like having the rug pulled out from under you…I couldn’t even imagine how devastated Eva must have been to find out about Nathan, but she didn’t even fully find out what was going on.  Monica went to Eva’s apartment after Nathan’s murder and it was Eva who started to fill her mother in on what she knew. Monica was never forthcoming with any Nathan information. Again it begs the question: Why? Only after Eva started digging and questioning everyone including putting her mother on the spot did Monica tell Eva about Nathan trying to blackmail Stanton, the videotapes and photos? Holy Crap!!! How many passes is this woman supposed to get before someone just throws their hands up and says “Ok lady, you SUCK!!†  As far as Elizabeth Vidal is concerned, I am waiting to see if Gideon reveals anything more about his relationship with his mother. If Gideon chose to severe his relationship with his mother based on the fact that she didn’t believe him when he came to her and confessed that he was being abused, no one could fault him for that. What I want to know is what else was going on in that family. Somehow I think Elizabeth Vidal had a lot of help coming to the conclusion that her child was lying about the abuse. Even then, E.V. sucked as a mother, because she should have believed her child or at the very least should have given Gideon the benefit of the doubt. She didn’t do either.  E.V. could have fired all the staff and hired help that may have been potentially connected with Gideon’s abuse and she also could have taken Gideon to the hospital to have an independent examination but she did neither. She chose a very selfish road and put her needs and her family reputation above the needs and safety of her own son, which is deplorable in my eyes.  I think that the abuse scenario has polarized many in the group. Everyone seems to be in their own corner waiting to see if their theories have been correct all along or whether Sylvia is going to throw her readers another curve ball.  We will each get to find out how rotten Monica, Elizabeth and Christopher Sr. have been or whether we may find a way to have a little compassion for them. Who knows? I hope we find out on June 4th.  What do you think? What does everyone think?
  8. Or you could move to Canada. Â Canada is a very lovely country with many, many fine features. Â
  9. Hi Sscrph, I think your scenario sounds lovely too!Â
  10. Hi Julie, After reading and rereading this book, it almost seems like Gideon and Eva are acting like a couple of teenagers in their first relationship. It is almost like they are reliving their teenage years for the first time. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  12.   Hi everyone, My favourite line from Chapter 9 is: “I won’t be calling you at all, if you don’t put your da** credit care away!† In that simple statement Eva give it to our boy simple and straight up! You have got to love someone who tells it like it is. Â
  13.  Hi Caroline, I hope that Tatiana is in the next book. It seems like she is the only one out of Cary’s relationships that hasn’t judged Cary. She seems to get that he is a “bad boy†of sorts and uses it to her advantage, thereby peaking Cary’s interest in her too. In this situation, it seems like they are both winning.Â
  14.  Hi Caroline, Up until Eva, Gideon was always in complete control which to me also means that he was the one who initiated s** with his partners but when Eva came along she completely blew that control all too he**. She was the one to initiate full se**** intercourse between the two of them in the limo. Up until then, I suspect that Gideon had something planned which would have involved Eva wearing nothing but her ankle bracelet.  Then when they were at the gym, it seems that Gideon had already formulated a plan in his head until Eva said that she was super turned on by Gideon’s sweat and I was her who suggested that they find a place nearby where they could have s**.  What do you think? What does everyone think?
  15. Â Hi Julie, Let's hope that all of our characters find their happily ever after.
  16. HI Caroline, I always thought that Cary's relationship with Trey was horrible When someone asks someone else to be something that he's not then that's a recipe for disaster! I am sure that Trey was a nice person in his own right, but his lack of acceptance of Cary's bisexuality is not good for Cary. Therefore that relationship would be unhealthy for both parties. What do you think? What does everyone think?
  17.   Hi Everyone, I asked this question earlier on in another thread, but I thought that the time may be right to ask it again: Do you think that Tatiana is a good match for Cary? I think that she is because she doesn’t seem judgmental about Cary’s bisexuality. She seems to be cool with the entire thing. What does everyone think?  Â
  18. Hi Jenny720, Welcome to the forum! I haven’t seen you before so I hope you enjoy yourself.  In response to your comment, I agree that Monica won’t ever be completely comfortable with Eva or with her independence. I don’t know how Monica would react if she found out about Gideon’s role in Nathan’s murder. I guess that will depend on how shallow or fickle Monica is. On one hand she could see Gideon as a man who so desperately and completely loves her daughter that he would do anything for her.  On the other hand, Monica may freak out that her daughter has now hooked up with a murderer. If Gideon is capable of murdering one person then couldn’t he be capable of murdering her precious Eva? Only Monica truly knows what is running through that airhead of hers and thus far she isn’t telling us.  KiMa had brought it up in another posting, why would Monica feel comfortable in telling Stanton what happened to Eva and not Victor? Victor is Eva’s father after all yet, Monica has never seen fit to tell the father of her child what happened? Why? I find it odd. Maybe we will get answers on June 4th.  As far as the Cary thing goes, I don’t know if he is on Team Gideon. I know that he is on Team Eva for sure. Thus far, Gideon has caused Eva more pain than good, so I could see why Cary would be reticent about Eva dating Gideon. His concerns are valid.  I also think that Cary sees that Eva is acting completely differently with Gideon than she has ever acted with any other boyfriend. I think that Cary may feel just a twinge of guilt because in a way he is the one who encouraged Eva to start dating Gideon.  Maybe if Eva hadn’t taken Cary’s advice then she wouldn’t have been so miserable in her dating relationship with Gideon. Who knows? What do you think? What does everyone think?
  19.   Hi Smartyj55, Welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy yourself!
  20.   Hi everyone, I have been reading everyone’s comments about how Eva handled the f*** pad scenario. I just wanted to throw out a quick question. Does everyone think that Gideon would have taken Eva back to his hotel room or back to his house?  Sorry my post got cut off.  I just wanted to add the second part to this post:  If we go back and read the scenario as it played out, Eva asked Gideon not to shower because it turned her on and also asked Gideon if they could find some place close by where they could have hot sweaty s** (my paraphrasing not Sylvia’s)? If Eva had allowed Gideon to remain in control instead of requesting a change of plans, do you think that Gideon would have taken Eva to the hotel? My guess is no, Gideon wouldn’t have taken Eva back to his hotel. I think that maybe they would have had sex in the limo and hen probably gone back to Eva’s apartment. Thus far, Gideon broke all of his rules and changed his ways for Eva. I don’t think that he would have used his old ways to woo Eva. What does everyone think? Â
  21. Hi Julie, I suspect that Ireland may not be too happy at home, but I don’t have anything to go by other than a gut feeling. I don’t know what Elizabeth Vidal must be like as a mother. I dearly and sincerely hope that Elizabeth Vidal has improved her mothering skills but only time and Sylvia will tell. Let’s see if we get any answers on June 4th.Â
  22.   I think that finances are a concern to the extent that he must realize on some level that he doesn’t have the skills to deal with the average 9-5 job. When kids were out get jobs babysitting and working in the local grocery store or burger joint, Cary was busy prostituting himself. It is unclear whether Cary was forced into prostitution (by his mother) and remained or whether at some point Cary stayed voluntarily (in order to support himself; food, rent, life expenses). It also isn’t clear whether his mother took the money he earned from prostituting or whether he was clever and hid some of it or all of it.  I think you also make a good point in that Cary is beginning to realize that time moves on and Eva is finding love. I think that must make Cary realize on some level that he has to work on what is holding him back from finding love and companionship (if that is what Cary wants in his life). Time will ultimately tell what Cary decides. What do you think? What does everyone think? Â
  23. Hi Caroline, I agree with your position. I think that Cary will eventually get back on his feet. Up until Cary went into therapy, the reader was left with the impression that Cary was either prostituting himself or was forcibly being prostituted (which is horrendous).  As a result of these life experiences, I don’t think that Cary learned the basic skills of how to interact with other people within a work setting without adding a component of sexuality to it. I am not sure if Cary would make it in a mainstream (9-5) job. Modeling depends on a person being able to sell the consumer the product (jeans, perfumes, vodka, etc.) all while using the model’s sexuality as the vehicle. So in that way, I think that modeling is a very good option for Cary (that and the fact that he is gorgeous).  I hope that Stanton and Monica come into the picture when Cary makes it big in his modeling career. If Stanton has the “Midas†touch when it comes to finances, then perhaps he can help Cary invest his hard earned money and live a comfortable life. He deserves it after all.Â

  25. Ciao Gabri, I don’t think that Cary would be “renouncing†Eva as his best friend per say, I just think that Eva is growing and changing and as such Cary has to do the same. I still think that they will be best friends. They just won’t be living together (hopefully Eva will be living with Gideon ).
