*sigh* Would LOVE Gideon's POV from that scene...

Meant to represent Gideon's rapist? Perhaps that's why the hand, with the dirty bitten fingernails -- meant to be unnerving?

 

How far will his passion drive you over the edge -- over the mental edge, leaving lasting trauma? PTSD - just how bad? Because Gideon's got it bad, his nightmares show.

 

Granted, the second male in the picture appears to be a young adult. To put a young teen would be both too obvious and far too controversial -- perhaps even pushing a legal line for the use of underage models. These are real people in that photo posing for the photographer -- the image is meant to be symbolic.

Personally I think Gideon didn't look at Eva because his true feelings would show.  He couldn't play the part he needed to play.  Also, I think seeing her pain would have made it difficult for him to continue with his plan.  Again, I think these "missteps" go back to Gideon's inability to communication

I agree---I think that if Gideon looked at Eva during that meeting---he would have broke down..

Gideon couldn't bear to look at Eva..

I think that a man like him only comes once in a generation....

During that video interview Sylvia gave on Booktalk Nation earlier this month, she was asked whether we'd get more Crossfire stuff from Gideon's point of view -- from inside Gideon's head. 

 

Her answer had been that for now, she's not planning extensive material from inside Gideon's head. Her reason why was very intriguing -- it's because Gideon hasn't let her in.

 

Essentially, her characters come into her inspiration fully formed, and the Gideon inside her imagination is still a closed-off person in many ways.

I found that fascinating when SD said that!!
