Probably the wrong place to ask this, but is "The Boss" series 2 or 3 books. I only see 2 out and hate to be waiting for yet another book!

 

It is funny that you ask this, because I just started reading the Boss, infact I am still reading it and hoping to finish it by Tuesday for the release of Aftershock.  Anyway the books are The Boss, The Girlfriend (which for some reason has a cover on my Nook, that doesn't match the others), The Hook-Up (which is a pre-view/missing scene, per the author for the next book), The Bride (which comes out this month I believe).  So there are two full E-books, one Novella (I think that is what the Hook-Up can be called) that have been released and at least one more that is going to be released soon.  I hope that helps

in the spreecast chat today, someone asked Sylvia if DeAnna from Aftershock is the same DeAnna from EWY. Sylvia's response leads me to believe that it is indeed the same person and we'll find out in CBY. She was very coy about it b/c she said it was a spoiler. Interesting! 

 

 

I am not sure where I read it, but I am pretty sure that I did somewhere, read that the DeAnna in both books is the same person.  I guess I never thought any differently so I am surprised that there is any question.  I am now puzzled as to where I got that info.

Monica and Cary both know, at lunch Eva said to Cary that Gideon had asked and getting ready for the benefit Monica told Eva that Gideon had asked Richard for her hand as well and Eva tells her that Gideon won't wait until June to get married

 

They know that it is in the future, but they do not know that they are married, let alone engaged.  Gideon talked to both Richard and Victor and asked their "permission."  However neither know that he actually asked Eva.

I'm snowed in and noticed the movie "Enough" on TV. I figured since I don't have a new book to read, that I would watch the movie that first introduced Eva (and me) to Krav Mega. I noticed some of the moves in the movie that Parker has been teaching Eva. Great movie!!!!

I too want to know what happened in the hallway, however the telling Cary part and the party were particularly meaningful to me.  I have been the one who has been a little frustrated with the fact that Elizabeth and Magdalene know about the engagement, but Monica and Cary don't.  I personally feel that until Eva starts telling her people about the engagement and marriage, then it is not truly real for her.  She cannot continue to hide this, especially from those that are important to her.

 

Where my excitement about the party comes from, is that for the most part their relationship has more or less been behind closed doors and private. Ofcourse they have been seen together out at events and when their pictures out and about, however they have never really been out and dating as a couple or been out with friends.  So I think having a party and being more public is also a huge step.

Thank you for responding.  Another thing that caught my guard was that at the gala at the end of the book, Gideon introduces himself to Christine and Walter as Eva's Fiance.  Forget that her Mom and Cary don't know this yet because frankly I doubt that her boss' would be going to talk to her family.  However it is extremely likely that her Christine and Walter would mention this to Mark, imagine how Mark would feel knowing that he and Steven share so much of their life with her and that she is so friendly with them, that she wouldn't even tell him about her engagement.

 

On these boards we have talked a lot about most of the characters, two of the characters that we have not talked much about are Mark and Steven.  I just love those two.  I think that Mark is an awesome boss and that Steven is just a wonderful friend, to Eva.  I hope that when Eva leaves WF&L, which I think we all know is inevitable, that Mark joins her too.  I really like those two men.

In hopes that Captivated By You will be released soon, I have been re-reading the first three books.  I am currently almost at the end of Entwined with You and a few questions came to me, I am not sure if they have already been asked but here goes.

 

-I know that Eva has asked Clancy about his family and we know that he is married and has siblings that are in the military and law enforcement.  Do we know about Angus and his family, if he has a wife, kids, etc.?

 

-When Eva finds out about her mother having a tracker placed in her compact, she gets mad at Clancy and tells him that he owes her.  Do we know what she had in mind for that and if so what was it?

 

-Can anyone tell what Angus and Raul's rolls/jobs are?  I am assuming that Angus is Gideon's primary driver and security, however I assumed when we were first introduced to Raul, that he did late nights, so that Angus was off.  However when Gideon and Eva go to the hospital after Corrine OD, it was odd to me that he had Raul come pick up the DB9 and then texted Angus to get Eva.  I think we all know how important Angus is to Gideon and how he trusts him with everything and that Eva and Angus love each other, but I thought it was odd that Raul was already at the hospital and was either still there or close by, but he texted Angus. What do you make of that?

 

-Eva said that she wasn't going to answer Megumi's questions on Monday, after she arrives in the office after getting married, until she first told Cary that she was married, however no time at lunch that day or any of the other three days following did she ever actually tell Cary that not only was she already engaged but that she was actually married.  I know personally I have comments multiple times that it is odd that Eva was wearing her ring on Thursday night for the gala and not once did Monica, miss nothing gets past me, notice that her daughter was not only wearing a large ring but one on her left hand, yet Elizabeth who literally does not know her noticed the ring.  So why do you think that Eva has not told ANY of her family and friends about the engagement let alone her marriage?

I pulled up the video, your description helped.  I am not sure if it is me or not but the video made me laugh.  I think it is "interesting" that the video included pictures of babies, which seems a bit far fetched as well as names, which is even more so.  I think we all love the idea of them having kids, but from what Sylvia has said (and I agree) they need time to be a couple and be married first. 

If you need another book to read while waiting for Sylvia's book, I have a wonderful recommendation: The Boss series by Abigail Barnette. The author is a pseudo name for Jennifer Armentrout who contributed to "50 Authors on 50 Shades" that Sylvia was also in. The story is very very well written and very very fun to read. The third book comes out in March, so there are two out now and a short story from the guy's p.o.v. If you like Sylvia's work you will like the Boss Series as well. 

 

 

I looked up The Boss Series because I love other books that Jennifer Armentrout has written under J. Lynn.  Is the series is The Boss and then The Hook-Up and the new release is The Girlfriend?  I looked on BN.com and the first two are free.  Thanks for the suggestion.

At what point do you think that Gideon learned about Eva and Brett? Before the concert? When he heard her name in "Golden?" When he saw them kissing and then had it confirmed when he got back in the limo?

So... I decided to start at the beginning (again) and I realized that I had a question in Bared To You that I never got answered. At the garden party, when Gideon is talking to Elizabeth and Cary comes up, wanting to leave. Gideon makes a comment to his mom stating that he knew she would like Cary. Then almost threatens her when he reminds her that Cary is one of his friends too. What was that all about? Those two things have always perplexed me.

I might be behind on the news, but I am a bit confused.  Some people have referenced that Lionsgate is making a movie from the Crossfire series, but I thought it was going to be a TV series.  Also has anyone heard if/when production starts?

Has anyone else been curious about the recent Facebook posts by Sylvia, over the past few days, with quotes from the three Crossfire books?I am not sure if it is wishful thinking or not, but I find it fishy...

I had a quick question for anyone who has listened to the audio book;  Are there two actors portraying Gideon and Eva or is it just one person?  If it is one person, doesn't that person's voice sound a little feminine when doing the male voice, or vice versa? 

 

There is only one narrator/reader her name is Jill Redfield and he has done all three books.  I think that Jill does a good job.  I have listened and own well over 20 audiobooks and can tell you, in my opinion, that the person on the audiobook can definately ruin a book for me and I do NOT feel that way about Jill.  If you go onto Audible (the service I use) you can pull up the books and listen to part of it.  I am not sure which part they sample but it will give you an idea. 

 

Most of the narrators/readers do change their voice when doing people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, etc.

I have an Audible account and listen to Audiobooks including but not limited to the Crossfire Series on my Iphone.  I listen in my car, while working around the house and at work.  It is often times at work that I double check to make sure my headphones are plugged in tight.  I have been pretty happy with the audibooks that I have listened to.  The only one that I can think of that I really didn't like, was the FSOG trilogy, Becca's voice didn't do the job for me.

Well, Henry was not cast as CG.  What do you ladies think of the guy who was cast?  I know absolutely nothing about him other than I looked him up on Wikipedia and I couldn't believe that was who was cast.  ANYONE?

 

 

I think that the two actors that they cast will need some hollywood magic (like all actors and actresses do, to get into any character) but I think that they will both do fine.  He seems a little bigger physically than Christian was described and she obviously has the wrong color hair.  What boths me though is all the negative comments being made on facebook.  I realize that like all the characters in the books we read, we have a mental image of what they look like, but that doesn't give us the right to make personal attacks eithers. 

 

I am just excited to hear some info coming out about the movie, especially since it will be out in less than a year.  Now if we could just get the 4th Crossfire released, then MAYBE they can start working on the TV show

Martin is Stanton's Nephew....so he is not a step-cousin.  Lacey got it wrong when she thanked Eva....(eva even said she didn't correct her,  they were in the bathroom right before the night club  s e x!!

 

Yes, Megumi talked about a blind date in EWY, but to my knowledge Eva has never met Michael.

I could be wrong and it really doesn't matter, but since Martin is Stanton's Nephew and Stanton is Eva's Step Dad, wouldn't that make Martin Eva's Step-Cousin?  Again it really doesn't matter.

 

At some point Sylvia was asked if Martin is Michael and the answer was NO.  Although we don't know if Michael is really Michael or someone else going by another name, Sylvia has said that Martin is just a family member and there is no alterior motive behind him.

I am not sure where to post this so I figured I would try on here.  On Facebook, Sylvia has been posting links and covers for books. Are those re-prints or the first time on E-Book but NOT new books?  I am kind of confused.  I didn't think that she had any new books other than Aftershock and Afterburn coming out.

Just thinking here....I'm pretty excited for Afterburn....but I almost don't want to read it b/c the story is not complete. It's gonna be such a tease at 99 pages The first two chapters were approx. 34 pages....so...that makes Afterburn be about 6 chapters ?  Looks soooo good tho!

The news is just a press release of something we already knew, right?  Or was there something new in there that I missed?

I felt the same way.  I too thought that this was information we already knew, but I guess the rest of the world didn't know it and this release just made it official.

 

I would have LOVED to have read which cable station would be airing the show, what the show is going to be called and when the show will start airing.

Ok, just finished the Blackstone series....gotta say...didn't love it Sorry! Idk why! Maybe too predictable? Too I don't know what...I was really looking forward to it too..

Maybe I just compare to the Crossfire Series too much lol

 

I want to try the Stark series. Is it worth it? The Gabriel series too....I see the first book is over 500 pages!

 

Just got Losing Hope...want to start that  after my romance break when I'm done reading And the Mountains Echoed.

 

I loved the Stark Series, but I also loved the Blackstone Series.

 

If the bluntness of sexual language in the Blackstone books bothered you,  then I wouldn't read the Stark series because it too has that language.

Responding to just one little point - I don't think it's been that long.  I suspect we're talking about a matter of months, maybe a year.  I think Deanna's grudge is still fairly new - if she'd been out to trash Gideon for longer than that, I think we'd probably have heard about it/seen evidence of it and Gideon wouldn't have been surprised when Deanne started hanging out at Eva's apartment building.  And since Gideon used Deanna to brush off Anne, that suggests that his affair with Anne wasn't so long ago, either.  I think all this happened after Corinne.  (Corinne was his first lover and there's nothing to suggest he cheated on her.) 

And I think Dr. Lucas (the pediatrician) was protecting Dr. Lucas (the psychiatrist) by covering up for her brother.  I don't think Dr. Lucas (the psychiatrist) ever knew what her brother did to Gideon.

I really hate to comment on things when I don't have definate dates and information, but I am pretty sure it was mentioned that Gideon and Anne's relationship was a long time ago.  I am thinking soon after graduating college and breaking off the engagement with Corinne, like within a year of that.

 

As for Gideon and Deanna, that is definately more recent than his relationship with Anne, but I also believe that was atleast a year or so prior to meeting Eva.

Question is when is she going to tell us her big news!!!

 

I really hope that this doesn't come across wrong, but I am really tired of the teasers of teasers.  I can't even worry about what she is teasing because I don't even know when we are going to get it. 

 

I know that building anticipation is part of keeping fans on their toes and interested, but all the build up of anticipation seems to defeat the purpose.  Phew....
