The New Entwined Clues Sylvia Is Posting
LN Cronan replied to LN Cronan's topic in The Crossfire Saga
Mostly over in the brand new thread "Gideon DID Kill Nathan ..." But you were among the others who listened to the actual interview, weren't you Kirsten? I know you were here on the site with several other of us fans yesterday afternoon.  If you did listen, you can attest to not only what Sylvia said but how she said it.  She was very clear and to the point when she revealed the spoiler Gideon had killed Nathan. She was very re-assuring when she responded to the spoiler question that Gideon and Eva would end up together. -

The other major revelation was that the Crossfire Series might even go into a 5th novel.  Sylvia told the host that she will continue for however long it takes to tell the story. She explained to the host that even though some people naturally assumed it would end as a trilogy, the fact of the matter is that the current three books all together cover only a total of two months of Gideon and Eva being involved with one another.  And no, she didn't reveal a name for Book Four nor indicate any sort of timeline for when the Crossfire novels beyond Entwined will be published. Nor did she get into how far along, if at all, she is into writing Crossfire beyond the completed Entwined.  Of course, the host asked the other big spoiler question - will Gideon and Eva be together. Sylvia's exact answer was, "Can you imagine either of those characters letting the other go?"  The rest of the interview, which came in segments between songs and commercials, were larger questions about Sylvia as an author, with her explaining how it took ten years to become an overnight success. -

Snapshot # 10 Â http://www.sylviaday.com/2013/04/19/entwined-snapshot-10/ Â Pictures a very expensive women's watch -- gold and diamonds. Â My thought - this chapter has something to do with either Eva's or Gideon's mother, either of whom would wear something like that. My bet is it's Elizabeth Vidal, and some sort of important revelation concerning her and Gideon's dark past is in Chapter 10. -

We can continue to talk about who helped him -- because I'm convinced he did not act alone.  My own theory is that Angus was an accomplice -- that is, actively participating in the killing. I'm open to the idea that other people might have been accessories. I'm OK with the fact that Eva now at the very least is engaging in obstruction of justice and possibly even rising to the level of accessory after the fact.  Because my belief is that Nathan was going to kidnap her, rape her again on videotape, kill her horribly and dump her body where he hoped it would never be found -- then use the millions he extorted from Stanton and Monica to flee the country. He'd have killed more than Eva herself, too. Gideon would have followed her into the grave soon after by killing himself. Cary probably would have turned back to drugs and died young too. Monica and Victor would have gone through the rest of their lives wishing sometimes they were dead.  Was it wrong for Gideon to take the law into his own hands instead of going to the police? Oh yes. But is this really murder, or it is justifiable homicide? I think it's the latter. -

It's Friday! Twice-weekly snapshot will come this morning (likely around 9 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time based on when all the other ones thus far have hit the Internet.)  Today will be a glimpse into Chapter 10. Recap of the snapshots of chapters 1-9:  1. The word "Press" super-imposed over a fuzzy background shot of a newspaper page. A fancy pen in the foreground. 2. Unwrapped Christmas present boxes 3. The word "Business" next to a cup of coffee 4. A microphone on a stand 5. A pile of neatly-folded white terrycloth towels, wrapped in a red ribbon. 6. A bathtub in a modern-style bathroom  7. An open bottle of red wine, nearly full, and in front of it, one wine glass holding some wine. Near it is a small vase holding four red roses. 8. Two different types of pills in blister packs plus a bottle of some sort of liquid medication. The meds are on a glass coffee table in front of a white couch. 9. Fuzzy shot of a crowded dance floor. One woman in the center of the shot is in semi-focus.  Here is the link to the page on sylviaday.com where you can see all the previous snapshots (and all of the snippets too) -- and where today's snapshot will be posted:  http://www.sylviaday.com/category/snippet/ -
The New Entwined Clues Sylvia Is Posting

C'mon alternate theory believers, how much clearer can Sylvia be. Â Everything always has pointed at Gideon. Nowhere, in the story itself nor in any responses to spoiler questions has she in any way whatsoever even hinted that anyone else but Gideon stabbed Nathan. Â The last six pages of Reflected and all the red flags those pages contains The already released excerpt of part of chapter one of Entwined with the red flags there too, biggest of which was Gideon saying "What I did ...." Â Now Sylvia asked point-blank in a live interview by a radio show host the ULTIMATE spoiler question, "Did Gideon kill Nathan for Eva?" Â Several of us here, myself included, listened to the interview live via streaming over the Internet. That's exactly how the show host asked the question (I took notes the whole time). Her exact answer to that spoiler question was .... Â "Yes. Yes he did." -- Sylvia Day -
The main receptionist for Gideon's floor atop the Crossfire is a redhead. So is Dr. Lucas' wife, who Gideon f***** to get back at the (not so) good doctor  Meanwhile, every woman Gideon socially dated prior to Eva was brunette -- everyone knew this. Also brunette is Gideon's first (and prior to Eva, only) serious girlfriend, Corrine. Gideon's mother is brunette too.  If I had an opportunity to ask Sylvia about just one spoiler subject, it'd be the significance of the hair color thing. Specifically: Had Corrine, a beautiful blue-eyed brunette like his mother, been the only brunette Gideon ever slept with, doing so because of some "Mommy issue" related to abandonment? After Corrine and before Eva, Gideon strictly divided women into two groups: those he dated socially and those he f*****, never mixing the two. Did their hair color determine which category they were automatically assigned? (i.e. he'd sleep with blondes and redheads but no more brunettes, meanwhile, only brunettes need apply for celebrity arm candy on the red carpets. Or -- did he continue to restrict himself only to brunettes, be they dates or sex partners -- and that the only two exceptions to this were the redheaded Anne Lucas and the blonde Eva.)

We're getting Chapter One early, ahead of June 4, and I'm guessing now that it's the chapter in which Gideon confesses to Eva. Now it makes more sense to me why Sylvia confirmed today in that radio interview Gideon killed Nathan. Â She must have had a blast these past few months reading all sorts of different theories people were discussing.
-
This ups the ante on the whole need to continue to keep secret the fact Gideon never stopped loving Eva -- the motive he loved her enough to kill to protect her. Because he did do it. Detective Graves knows it. And she's already broken his alibi. Â Of the various ways the investigation could finally end, now OFF the table is "someone else did it."

The interview was done in segments between songs (and commercials too). I hung in there because I was still at work in my home office.  Summary of what we learned: Gideon did kill Nathan. Crossfire might go into a 5th book. Confirmation that start to finish thus far (start of Bared to the end of Entwined) covers only two months of the relationship with no jumps forward in time. (Thus the fact subsequent novels will come -- as long as it takes for Sylvia to tell the story). As for will Gideon and Eva end up together, the answer was "Can you imagine either of those characters letting the other go?"

Kansas radio station, which is available via live Internet stream. Several of us have been listening in. Earlier today on her Facebook page, Sylvia announced she was going to be a guest this afternoon, and she included the web link to listen to the station's live stream. Â There's an RT Booklover's Convention coming to Kansas City May 1 to 5, and Sylvia is slated to appear there. Today's radio interview is a lead up to that convention. Â The live interview was done over telephone, with Sylvia on the line from Los Angeles.

Got a brand new thread devoted just to that shocker (well shocker for some -- I'm just shocked she actually answered that question prior to June 4.)  Other big news -- Crossfire might go to five book. However long it takes to tell the story is what Sylvia said.

It was worth suffering through bad 1980s adult contemporary music just to hear Sylvia between songs. -
The Sylvia radio interview is still in progress between songs. Besides dropping the bomb Gideon did it, another big revelation is Crossfire might even go into a fifth novel -- "I need to tell the story and however long it will take to tell" is how Sylvia put it, explaining to the host that the three books thus far cover only two months of the relationship. Â BTW, I want to compliment the host, Phil Martinez, for doing his homework. He obviously read Reflected.

Gideon DID kill Nathan -- Sylvia just said so during the interview. I've started an entire new thread for that revelation.  The host's exact question was "Did Gideon kill Nathan for Eva?" Sylvia's reply was "Yes. Yes he did."  Something else she mentioned was it's possible that the series might even go into five books. "I need to tell the story and however long it will take to tell it ..."  I'm going to re-post that in the More Than Three Books thread. Putting that into context, Sylvia explained that all three books together thus far cover only two months total of the relationship, no jumps forward in time.  Will Gideon and Eva be together is another question the host asked. Her response there was, "Can you imagine either of those characters letting the other go?" -

Interview starting now - and I'm listening. She's via phone from Los Angeles. NOTE: the interview is coming in segments between songs -- i.e. the station format is that the DJ is alternating talking with Sylvia and playing songs. So if you click on the link and hear music and say W T F, you are in the right place. Keep listening. -

I've been able to keep the station running mostly, though there are occasional "burps" Â Kristen - what web browser are you using? Internet Explorer? I find that Google Chrome works much better than Internet "Exploder" (ha ha) for audio and video, so if you're able, try that. Â Julie - the station is on the Internet, so you should be able to access it just like you do here. Not sure where you live in Europe, but I recognize the program will probably run past your bedtime. Â I'm in my home office today and need to work late anyway, so unless (knock on wood) an emergency comes up, I should be able to listen and take notes. -

Clancy drove her there. Eva was in a daze at the time, shocked by what she'd just been told. The daze lasted until she stood in front of Gideon's door. Middle of page 337:  Somehow, I ended up at Gideon's apartment.  I don't remember leaving Parker's studio or telling Clancy where to take me. I don't remember checking in with the front desk or riding the elevator up. When I found myself in the private foyer facing Gideon's door, I had to stop a moment, unsure of how I'd gotten from the bleachers to that point.
