  1. I read a sample of Seven Years To Sin on my Kindle, but it just didn't grab me the way the Crossfire novels did, so I decided against buying it. I've never been much of a person for historical fiction -- I mostly read contemporary fiction. I do however enjoy some fantasy and paranormal genre stuff (Harry Potter, Twilight) so I'm considering checking out some of Sylvia's stuff in those genres.

Sylvia also has a new contemporary series coming out this year, with novels due for release in August and November. I'm definitely going to check out the first one, and if I love it (as I'm sure I probably will) I'll check out the second.

Idk what it is, I've tried to read it and listen to it but can't get into it..! I'm waiting for afterburn and aftershock by SD..! I like drama a good story line doesn't really matter.!

  2. That's my fear as well which is why the idea of an all out petition is becoming soooo freaking appealing. I am going to work on that. and piece some narrative together. Lol. Like I said, " I got time on my hands so I can do done harassing (appropriately)

If you get it going I'll sure sign..!! My friends keep telling me about these books then when I read the reviews I was like ok I'll read them, with the notion that EWY was coming out 12/31/12 but that then changed to 5/7/13 then it changed aging to 6/4/13 I have no other choice to wait, but release a fourth book...!! Oh man the wait..! Don't think I'd like a repeat of this..! Someone needs to send the publisher a message..! That's not cool..!!

  3. Exactly. I think we are soo wound up in anticipation of EWY that we try to extrapolate hidden meanings when sometime things should be taken at face value. This is just Sylvia saying happy Easter (and question mark as not everyone celebrates Easter potentially) to us fans, inviting us to spend our "Easter" with our favorite loves

I must say, I was soo beyond frustrated by the push back of the release of EWY that I wanted to start a petition (you know, channeling all Eva and stirring up stuff as I got "time on my hands") but Sylvia's genorousity with the snippets and snap shots chilled me out

Although I just make start that petition on Change.org against the publishers just because...lol so be on the look-out for that!!!

Lol..!! We know its not Sylvia's fault but the wait is ridiculous..! My whole thing is I kinda don't want to read EWY if there is going to be a fourth book because of the stunt the publisher pull pushing back the release of EWY.!! Are they going to do it again..?

  4. Since entwined with you will be coming out in June for the summer vacation reading season maybe Something in you will come out 6 months later in December for the Christmas season What do you think?

I'm hoping so.!! I know it's not up to Sylvia as far as release dates go, but the backlash from EWY should be taken into consideration by the PUBLISHER when and if a fourth book happens..!!

  5. Most -- emphasis most -- of the time, Gideon is a master at maintaining a cool mask to the world, a mask he sometimes lowers in private but has always been exceptionally careful to maintain in public settings. This is why early in Bared, he told Eva "I can't be in public right now" as he was struggling to regain his composure and the pair of them were standing in the middle of a restaurant at the time.

Background: The "now" had been him shaking in relief (and underneath still terrified) because Eva had pulled her first "runner" on him mere hours into the official start of their full-fledged boyfriend/girlfriend status. After work they'd ended up at a hotel where he made love with her for the second time they'd known each other. And just like the first time, something happened right afterward that almost destroyed what he had with her. This time, it was because the "hotel room" turned out to be his "f*** pad" -- something Eva figured out on her own while he was in the shower. She ran away and ended up wandering into a nearby restaurant. A very badly rattled Gideon found her there, and to both make things up to her and get them out of public view, he took Eva home to his penthouse for the first time.

So keeping this ^^^^ in mind, imagine the shock that could come if some paparazzi got a photo of Gideon Cross when Gideon's careful public mask had slid off his face. Like him getting really upset in the middle of Times Square because Brett Kline has grabbed a microphone and begun singing the love song he wrote for Eva.

Oh boy. The buzz a photo like that would create.

Hopefully, the long-term ramification would actually work in Gideon and Eva's favor by making the public think he's still furious about what happened weeks ago, when he caught his then-girlfriend in Brett's arms (who became his ex-girlfriend that very night.) This will help bolster the stronger cover story they could use to make the cops back down -- Gideon dumped Eva over Brett, not left her for Corrine the week before Nathan was murdered.

    Agreed..!!

  6. Exactly, Mrs. Crossfire!!!! This is what the detective KNOWS. But she can't yet PROVE it. Trying to gather evidence in order to establish this truth if the entire reason for the trap. This goes right back to the legal theory of "plausible deniability" (a term Gideon himself used.) Even if something is true (Gideon rejecting Eva had all been a lie) if the cops cannot present evidence to prove that, then by default Gideon can deny it's true. Right now, all Detective Graves has is a look of anguish on Gideon's face Saturday morning, and the fact Gideon had dinner with Eva's roommate and her father Friday night. This goes up again against press photos that could counter "prove" that even before Nathan died, Gideon was already done with Eva and was now seeing his ex fiancee who very publicly left her husband in France, moved all the way back to New York, and in front of a high society crowd at a fundraising dinner snagged Gideon right out from under Eva's nose. In fact, one of those photos shows Gideon partying with Corrine the same night "someone" killed Nathan. Plus it looks like we're about to get even more convincing proof - Eva "cheated" on Gideon with Brett, and right after that, Gideon dumped her and immediately decided to give Corrine another shot. All of that went down when Nathan was still very much alive. Even more crucial Mrs. Crossfire is your observation above: "Eva telling her (Detective Graves) she broke up with him Saturday surely helped put a sticker on it" (Meaning Graves found out for certain it was Eva dumping Gideon AFTER Nathan was dead and Gideon being shattered about it, not the other way around -- Gideon rejecting Eva almost a week before the murder (i.e. the night of the concert when he caught Eva in Brett's arms.) Graves made a HUGE mistake that could cost her the whole case when she tricked Eva into confirming it was true Eva dumped Gideon on Saturday.

    • When she approached Eva to set Eva (and Gideon) up by spilling the beans, the very first thing Eva said was she didn't want to talk (i.e. answer any questions) without a lawyer.
    • So Graves said she was going to do all the talking -- Eva could just listen. Which actually does not violate Eva's rights.
    • BUT Graves slipped over the important line when she ASKED Eva, "You broke up with him on the Saturday after we interrupted your dinner, didn't you." Eva nodded yes.
    • Right then and there, because Graves was winging it and pushing hard, she crossed a line into violating Eva's right to have a lawyer present for questioning, a right Eva was careful to remind Graves of upfront.
    • That "nod yes" now potentially is inadmissible as evidence. And if the prosecutor in the case recognizes that right away (or a judge throws it out of evidence) not only is that nod "yes" now poison -- every later piece of evidence Graves might now get as a direct result of Eva's nod is also poison. The whole trap itself might end up infected by legal poison. There's a legal phrase "fruit of the poisoned tree."

BAM: IN THAT ORDER..' Lol I just want a happy ending.!

  7. Getting back to Brett I think the only way Eva can "prove" to Brett that she is in love with Gideon is to not sleep with him because he knows how hot it was between them so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Brett is probably a big part of the middle of the book but I wonder where the snippet in the dance club comes in, is Brett still in the picture at this point or does he bow out gracefully there are so many angles to be resolved can't wait till June 4th

I hope Brett does announce she is the girl in golden..! Only thing is why didn't he say it when he did the interview.? Eva was kinda known at the time from being pictured with Cary and Gideon..!

  8. The email itself (which the cops can easily get a copy of) actually reinforces the whole lie -- Eva was heartbroken Gideon was now spending time with Corrine. It could easily be interpreted as Eva being desperate. Because actually, that was the God's honest truth at the time Eva wrote it, and anyone reading it would see that.

Right now, the cops have NO REASON to know Gideon snuck into Eva's apartment within hours of getting that email. So they've no reason to ask Cary about that night.

However, if they did ask get around to questioning Cary, at least where things stood the day after Gideon snuck in to Eva's room again, here's what Cary could say:

    • Gideon let himself into Eva's room weeks ago (on a Wednesday night) in order to "bang" Eva out of his system.
    • He then snuck out before daybreak the next morning (Thursday) while she was still asleep.
    • Later Thursday, he ignored her in the middle of an important meeting in front of her boss. Thursday night, he took Corrine to the hotel.
    • Yes, Gideon came over for dinner Friday night, but that had been planned well over a week before. It was crystal clear however he was all-but finished with Eva. (By coincidence, it had been Friday morning Nathan's body was found.)
    • Saturday morning, Eva found out about Corrine and the hotel Thursday night, and she dumped Gideon
    • For well over a week after then, Gideon didn't have anything to do with Eva.
    • But finally, after more than a week of ZERO contact, Gideon did something weird - pinned Eva to an elevator wall and put the ring back on her finger.
    • I'm not sure Eva told Cary about the car ride she took with Gideon two days later. But I think she didn't say a word -- never said a word because that could involve telling Cary about the deep dark secrets Gideon revealed to Eva in the car -- some details about the sexual abuse Gideon suffered. If that's true, all Cary knew about was the weird elevator meeting.
    • This next part is conjecture about what Cary could say as things stood at the open of Entwined (well, what we've pieced together thus far here) -- Two nights after the elevator incident, Gideon snuck into Eva's room again. To get laid. Banged her all night then next day went back to all but ignoring her in public. Looks like this time Gideon may have managed to finally bang Eva out of his system.
HOWEVER -- Danger here on that very last point. Wednesday evening, Detective Graves spilled the beans. Wednesday night, Gideon snuck in and spent the whole night with Eva. Uh oh. So they'd know their trick worked in getting Eva and Gideon to go running to one another.

Problem is they can't prove using Cary as a witness that Gideon and Eva reconciled. Not if they never told Cary that was the truth. So the most the cops could prove is Gideon f**** Eva. But Cary could say it was nothing more than what Gideon did weeks ago, even when Nathan was still alive -- bang her and then reject her the morning after. If anything, right now any possible Cary testimony would help the defense, not the prosecution.

True but the detectives don't believe Gideon and Eva confirmed that when she told detective graves that night at Parker's studio that she broke up with him that saturday after they interrupted their dinner..! The detective knew that it was a front on Gideon's part, why would he look like someone just killed his best friend if he had already broken up with her..?? So at the time of the murder the detective know that Gideon was still seeing Eva..! She said he planned to be seen with an ex to throw ppl off but she knew better I'm sure..!! And if she didn't Eva telling her she broke up with him that Saturday surely help put a sticker on it..!

  9. Theories here that Cary has NO CLUE Gideon has come back to Eva and is secretly seeing her.

    • Cary, still at home laying in a home hospital bed, continuing to recover from broken bones, overheard Gideon sneak into Eva's room and heard them making love all night long.
    • Eva lets him assume it wasn't anything different than the last time Gideon snuck in three-plus weeks ago: "banged" Eva all night just to get it out of his system..
    • Back then (three weeks ago) Cary suspected Gideon banged Eva just to get it out of his system. He told Eva as much the next morning.
    • Cary is now thinking Gideon's just using Eva to get laid. Especially if Cary thinks Gideon is still seeing Corrine - in that case, Gideon's cheating on his "real" girlfriend Corrine with his "ex" Eva.
    • Moving forward, Gideon never sneaks into Eva's again. Instead, he has Eva sneak into his own apartment building via the service entrance (remember that snippet where asks Eva, when she phones him from the nightclub, to come home to him.)

It would be the smart thing to totally keep Cary in the dark they are secretly seeing one another. That's as much for Cary's own protection as their own. Cary is inexorably tied into Nathan's murder as it is (Cary's beating is what made Gideon decide Eva was in mortal danger -- and that was the basis of the motive to murder.) To further embroil Cary in the case -- by making him have to keep a very dangerous secret -- could put Cary in a horrible position. If the cops think Cary knows for a fact Gideon is in love with Eva, and is doing stuff that proves it (secretly seeing her) they could end up putting him on a witness stand to testify against Gideon.

Yes I think keeping Cary in the dark Is best for them..!! Not that Cary knowing is a bad thing but something's are better left unsaid to Cary

  10. I bet Brett takes the microphone at the VIDAL tent and announces that his GOLDEN GIRL is in the audience!!!!

    GIDEON.....TAKE THAT!!!!!!

That would HELP Eva and Gideon..!! Everything comes into play for Gideon right now, the fight at the concert only shows (cops) he broke up with Eva over this fight, Eva goes to lunch with Brett.! It's all working in his favor..!

Now lets talk about something that might draw suspicion: Eva's email to him before the murder, she spilled her guts out to him and he went there and screwed her brains out.. The next morning she tells Cary about the email and he says to her "baby girl NEVER put stuff like that in writing" emails can be tracked. If anyone (cops) cared to ask Gideon was at the hospital Monday and Tuesday morning..!!

  11. I think Gideon is bonding with Ireland so that could be used as cover up for him to see Eva..! However don't forget that Gideon does own a share of Vidal records, and he knows Brett's band is signed with them, throwing some type of party would maybe include Brett's being there so if Eva is seen with Brett and somehow it leaked that she's the "golden" girl then it only would strengthen the "ploy" that they are not together.! So maybe the party was a plan..!!

It just doesn't seem like Gideon would appreciate Eva being in the same place as Brett if it wasn't going to benefit them..! Hence why he didn't go to the restaurant when Brett showed up at the crossfire and him and Eva went to lunch, he could have easily had security escort him out the building before Eva even got downstairs. That was a benefit for the both of them, for her to be seen with another man other than Cary..!!

And now that I think about it, Eva did stop the google alerts so that first snapshot may be breaking news from the press that Eva was seen with Brett. She did say she took him to the place her and Cary was photographed at and it was all over the papers!

  12. KiMa

As you pointed out, the audio does allow you to pick up things you may have overlooked reading.. So one of things that struck me as odd was, why was Gideon just seeing Eva that day she decided to time the walk if she had been in the building for her interview and if it didn't happen on the same day she had been in the security office as she said to get her badge..??

  13. Hi everyone,

I just wanted to toss something out to all the group members; do you think that Shawna went home after the concert and blabbed to her brother and brother-in-law about what happened at the concert or do you think that she just kept that information to herself? What does everyone think?

Yes she did tell her brother as in Refeclted the Wednesday after Cary's attack when Eva was having lunch with the fellas Steven says " but then you have to kinda expect it when you're juggling rock stars and billionaires". At that point Eva is aware that Shawna told him what happen at the concert.!
