  1. What does Gideon whisper to Eva? Sylvia wrote that all would be revealed in EWY. Then more people started whispering things that Eva didn't catch. Do we find out all the whispered conversations -maybe in book 4 for sure?

    "crossfire"

If you re-'read EWY there are a few occasions where this happens..! :) Gideon wasn't able to say the words. " I Love You" to Eva as he didn't see the words were fit at the time so his word is Crossfire..!

  2. One thing we all seem to overlook, including Gideon regarding Corinne. She came back to New York under her own steam. Gideon did not encourage or send out signals to her. She clearly had an agenda.

Yes while she was here, he used her as an alibi for Eva, that was where his guilt should end. But he made it clear from the outset, he was in a relationship, and that they would be just friends.

She is a sad, desperate manipulating woman.

Corrine put herself in that position, if Gideon told her he had someone special, why come to NY and risk him not attending to you the way you want.?

I feel bad for her hubby tho he's stuck in the middle of his wife's mischief behavior..!! And the sad part is He Loves Her..!!

I blame no one for Corrine's actions but Corrine..!!

  4. I'm not sure what, if any, pictures Cary studied of the couple. He probably concentrated more on the facts.

It was Eva, not Cary, who sought out online pictures of the Lucases. Her insecurity made her guess (correctly) the problem between the two men must have involved a woman. Eva was specifically checking out a sneaking suspicion Anne might be one of those Corrine Clone Brunettes. She was relieved (at the time) to discover Anne was a redhead.

Even Eva herself, though, had trouble recognizing Anne. It's why she asked Gideon. "She looked so different without her former pixie haircut ...." (page 353, as Eva mentally compared the woman she saw with Cary with the photograph of Anne she'd seen online.)

Cary had to see to at least one pic of Anne as he pulled pictures of Magdalena when he did a search of Gideon for Eva.! He probably didn't put her face because of the hair growth but surely he seen her face on the Internet, if Eva seen her face by searching her husband Cary probably did to..!

  5. I agree, LN, Anne Lucas' over medication of Corinne was no accident.I feel that Anne comes from a twisted/sick family...and Anne has her own pathological mental health issues. No, I don't think that Gideon should have taken her to the ER--he should have called her parents if her husband was unavailableWho found Corrine after she attempted suicide or did she call someone reaching out for help---maybe she called Gideon after her attempted suicide?

He husband found her I believe, she did it after he told her gideon and Eva were engaged..! It was lizzy that called her son to tell him Corrine had o'd

  6. Good morning, Mrs. C!

Cary's Just Say No comment was the most important -- shows just how much progress he too made with Dr. Travis.

Picking my favorite line, however, was what her sexy new neighbor said when he answered the door, "Christ ... You look amazing. Next time warn me before I open the door."

    Oh baby!

Morning ** Waves** that was a good line also..'n yes Cary is growing IMO..!!

  7. I'm still not convinced that Anne is Corinne's doctor. I can't figure out how they would have met and it seems a little convenient that if Corinne sought out medical help she would have just walked into Anne's practice. I also don't believe Anne was Elizabeth's shrink so I doubt she recommended / introduced them.

Also, surely Gideon would have seen Corinne's pills on the night he found out she was taking them (the name of the prescribing Dr would have been on the bottle) or the name of her shrink would have been mentioned somewhere in conversation (Gideon was there for hours talking about how she's been acting, her medication etc...) It all feels a little incestuous, Corinne seeks medical help and it just happens to be the one shrink in town that Gideon has f*****.

Not that I wouldnt like some of what you've said to be true. If Gideon's guilt over both situations could be reduced / removed I think it would certainly help his recovery & remove some of hos self loathing.

How would Corrine had known Gideon slept with Anne if she was married off in France.? Corrine never knew what happen to Gideon as he kept that from her, she wouldn't have any idea about Anne Lucas or her husband.!
  8. I agree that even if Gideon were not in the picture, Eva still would not be with Brett. She knows herself that a relationship between them would be a bad idea for a number of reasons, mainly...

    1. Her jealousy and insecurity could not handle dating someone with that kind of lifestyle.

    2. A fear of regressing to her old ways. Eva does not like the person she was when she was with Brett 4 years ago. She has no desire to ever be that person again.

One thing I think people keep forgetting though is that Gideon & Eva were not married when she agreed to meet up with Brett in SD. The only contact she has had with Brett since marrying Gideon is sending him a smiley face text message - which was a way for her to keep her promise to him (that she would make contact and not always wait for him to initiate) without actually calling him up or having any real contact.

I definitely think she will meet Brett alone in SD. They need to talk about the sex tape face-to-face so that they can both gauge each others honest reactions about the situation. I also think they need to meet one more time now that Eva can finally be totally honest with Brett and make it quite clear just how serious she and Gideon are.

I get why people are mad at Eva for her interaction with Brett in this book, and to be honest the thoughts of how sexy he was ###### me off too. But, we need to remember:

The first time Brett & Eva had a proper conversation (when she took him to lunch)- she was unsure of Gideon, he had taken Corinne to dinner the night before, he wouldnt talk to her - but she still Brett she was in love with Gideon.

The next time the talk on the phone - she says she'll only go to the Golden event id he is ok with them being friends. She even goes so far as to say she doesn't want to lead him on (ie nothing will happen between them, she's not interested)

The Golden event - this is the first time Gideon & Eva are seen back in public together. In fact publicly its supposed to be the night they reconcile. Therefore Eva tells Brett that she loves Gideon and is giving him another chance, but there is only so much she can say, she has to be cautious of anyone finding out they've been together for a while

Does anyone get where I'm coming from?

Gotcha.. But y u up so early..!! Lol

  9. Why would they blame Eva? Shes still married . It has to be obvious to everyone now that corriine and Gideon weren't dating . Why would he bring Eva if they were....so maybe they had all assumed ,or Corinne fed it too. Idk. I want her out of the pic ASAP in book 4. She's not Gideon's problem , she's her husbands . Gideon's gotta cut ties indefinitely . No?

Btw, I may have multiple postings comin up...catching up on all these pages! :)

How can they blame any of Corrine's action on anybody else but Corrine.? You have to close one door before you open another..!!

The girl is still married and her husband being there proves that..! If they were done why would he fly to come check on her before her suicide attempt.?

    Blame her for her actions..!!

  10. I wonder whether Anne Lucas knew the truth about her brother Hugh, and specifically what drove him to suicide.

If she did, did she have an even larger agenda already set when she set out to seduce Gideon? One she initially failed to accomplish, because The Iceman was immune to her wiles and manipulations?

What if she didn't know the truth about Hugh, because her husband kept that secret from her ... and she simply went after Gideon because she's a cheating s l u t?

So if she didn't know about the Gideon-Hugh truth, is her motive for causing grave mental health harm to Corrine and her motive for attempting to mess with Eva's mind purely driven by her being a scorned woman?

    Oh the possibilities ....

I think she didn't know what her brother did..! Her husband spared her from that.! But when she went after Gideon and he didn't melt for her and she went back to her husband he may have told her..! ( she then put it together, he would of never stayed with her knowing what her brother did to him.)

So after her breakdown (if her husband told her what her brother did to Gideon) she realized why her brother killed himself, so her revenge is Corrine. ( To get back at gideon) So if in fact she is Corrine psych (and her husband did tell her about her brother) she knowingly fed Corrine those pills knowing the side effects ( most anti-depressing meds come with homicidal warnings) what could happen..!

Or if she doesn't know what her brother did and she is Corrine psych, she still mad at the iceman for sending her back to her husband and not not staying with her.,! So either way Anne Lucas is dangerous..!!

  11. If Anne Lucas was the psychiatrist hired to treat him as a 10-11 year old boy, but who ended up barely working with him at all because she instead focused all her attention on Elizabeth, it would make sense why he wouldn't recognize her 18-19 years later. Poor Gideon got left alone with Hugh the Pedophile a lot, so it's obvious whoever the female shrink had been all those years ago, that shrink barely worked with the poor child.

Fast forward to the present .... with all the women constantly throwing themselves at him, the poor guy would be hard pressed to keep track of all the faces. Anne was simply another one of the women in line and he wasn't going to give her the time of day .... until he somehow found out whose wife she was. Then things got interesting.

I think it is a stretch that Anne was the psychiatrist all those years ago the Vidals hired ... but I think the possibility exists. I'm almost certain she had been the one feeding Corrine meds though .... calculatedly setting out to make Corrine suicidal. Revenge against Gideon on so many levels -- fooled into the belief Gideon had always been in love with Corrine, destroying his shot at happily ever after .... getting even with him for her own brother's suicide .... knowing that he harbors deep survivor guilt stemming from the suicide of his own father under especially traumatic circumstances.

Ln I don't think Anne was the psych with Elizabeth.! As I don't think Gideon would have forgotten her name.! He said he didn't understand until he met Eva, Dr Lucas loved his wife and wanted to spare her the embarrassment, so I don't think Anne knows what her brother did as her husband covered it up for him, why would she risk the chance and sleep with a man her little brother was accused of raping.!!? The question is who is the second doctor that looked at Gideon.!?
